The Grande Halle de la Villette is a Parisian events venue housed in a former cattle hall built between 1865 and 1867 by the architects Jules de Mérindol and Louis-Adolphe Janvier. A masterpiece of 19th-century iron-and-glass architecture, the building was added to the supplementary inventory of historic monuments in 1979 and later converted into a cultural and professional venue. Located at the heart of the Parc de la Villette, in the 19th arrondissement, it hosts consumer and trade shows, conventions and cultural events.

Halls and surface areas

The Grande Halle offers a surface area of around 20,000 sq m, with ground dimensions in the order of 250 metres by 85 metres. The main volume can be partitioned into several spaces thanks to modular systems (tympanum, gantries, mobile platforms, side rooms), making it possible to configure the Nave and complementary spaces. The building also houses an auditorium equipped for conferences and screenings.

Access and transport

The venue is located at 211 avenue Jean Jaurès, 75019 Paris. The nearest metro station is Porte de Pantin (line 5), less than 200 metres away. The site is also served by the Corentin Cariou and Porte de la Villette stations (line 7), by the T3b tramway (Porte de Pantin stop) and by bus routes 75, 139, 150, 151, 152, PC2 and PC3. Car parking is available in the Parc de la Villette car parks, on the Porte de Pantin side and the northern side, which provide spaces reserved for people with reduced mobility.

Other Parisian trade shows are listed on the trade shows in Paris page.

Services

The site has a restaurant, a bookshop and reception areas. The Grande Halle is part of the wider Parc de la Villette (55 hectares), which brings together numerous cultural facilities in the immediate vicinity. There is a wide range of accommodation and dining options in the neighbourhood and the north-east of Paris, which is well connected to the rest of the capital by public transport.
