Key takeaways
- Bisou is the international trade show for gifts, souvenir items, Provençal goods and home decor, extended to fashion accessories, costume jewellery, fragrances, beachwear, promotional items and gourmet gifts. Retailers discover and order the summer season's collections here every January.
- Next edition: from Saturday 23 to Monday 25 January 2027, at Parc Chanot in Marseille, in the Palais Phocéen (Hall 3). Open to visitors from 9am to 6pm on all three days.
- Strictly trade access: the invitation, valid for two people, is only sent once the organiser has verified that the applicant belongs to one of the trade show's sectors.
- Organiser: Orgexpo, a Nice-based company that also organises the Hexagone trade shows in Rennes and Grenoble. No co-organiser.
- Annual frequency. Founded in 1976, the trade show was held for decades at the Palais des Expositions in Nice, before moving to Parc Chanot in January 2022, where it has remained since.
- Last edition, 10 to 12 January 2026: close to 10,000 visitors for around 1,500 points of sale, according to Offrir International. Exhibitor numbers not published by the organiser.
Who exhibits
Typical profile
Manufacturers, importers, distributors, producers and designers, French and international, who sell to shops rather than to the end consumer. The official search engine sorts the offering into 38 themes, from souvenir and regional items to beachwear, tableware to basketware, fragrances and candles to sunglasses, as well as greetings cards, minerals and shells, household linen and Christmas items.
The coherence of the whole rests on the calendar more than on a product family: everything that sells in summer in a shop on the coast, in a tourist resort or in a village in Provence is ordered here in January. This is what sets Bisou apart from a general home decor trade show.
Notable exhibitors
The official exhibitor list can be filtered by edition, from 2009 to 2027, by theme and by name. Consulted in late September 2026, it notably listed exhibitors including Abrial Provence (lavender, herbs of Provence, soaps), Bastide et Olivier (olive wood, ceramics), Bikkibeach (swimwear), Colmag Import (sunglasses), Enesco France, Esprit Provence, Fonderie Saint-Luc, Les Filles du Sud, Soa Raphia, Too Beach and Thevenet & Cie. Several listings carry the "New" label, signalling a first-time participation.
Visitor quality
Filtering happens at the entrance: the invitation is only sent once the organiser has verified that the applicant belongs to one of the trade show's sectors, and press releases for the 2027 edition carried by Offrir International specify that a Kbis extract (French company registration certificate) is requested on entry. Visitors are managers and buyers from points of sale: souvenir and gift shops, home decor and fashion shops, beachwear retailers.
The organiser in fact reasons in points of sale rather than entries: around 1,500 in 2026 for close to 10,000 visitors, according to Offrir International. Visitors come mainly from the wider South of France, but also from the rest of France and abroad. No third-party attendance audit is published for recent editions.
Programme & community
A trade show for placing orders, not conferences
Bisou does not publish a conference programme, competitions or an entertainment area. The format is a deliberate choice: three days of business meetings where buyers compare offerings, negotiate minimum order quantities, delivery times and customisation, then place their order on the stand. The organiser's 2019 results release already made this point: the trade show's value lies in bringing pre-selected suppliers together in one place, something an online search only achieves after lengthy exchanges.
Refreshing the offering
According to Offrir International, the organiser announces around 20% exhibitor turnover each year and a format deliberately capped at 200 exhibitors, to keep the offering tight by sector. The official 2027 list confirms the presence of newcomers, flagged as such.
Community & networks
The trade show runs a Facebook page and a YouTube channel, and publishes a photo gallery from the 2026 edition in its media area.
On the press side, the official press area archives press coverage from titles in the sector: Offrir International, Home Fashion News, Le Monde de l'Épicerie Fine, Union Presse, la Revue des Tabacs, as well as the regional press from the Côte d'Azur.
On site: what you need to know
For parking, accommodation and general services, see the venue listing: Parc Chanot.
Specific to the trade show: the exhibition is held in the Palais Phocéen (Hall 3). The 2027 exhibitor guide recommends metro line 2, five stops from Gare Saint-Charles, to Rond-point du Prado station, which gives direct access to the Marseille Chanot entrance via Gate A. A taxi rank is located at Rond-point du Prado. Marseille Provence Airport is around thirty minutes away.
Visitor hours: 9am to 6pm on Saturday 23, Sunday 24 and Monday 25 January 2027. The hall houses a restaurant and a snack bar. The trade show directs visitors to a dedicated accommodation website, bisouhotels.com.
How much it costs to exhibit
The organiser publishes a price list for 2027 on its Book your stand page: a part-fitted stand at €265 excl. VAT per m², bare space at €245 excl. VAT per m² for 6 to 26 m², €235 for 27 to 59 m² and €225 from 60 m² upwards, a €250 surcharge for a corner stand (a flat amount, the site does not specify a per-m² calculation), and a compulsory administration and insurance fee of €175. A 5% discount on the price per m² is granted for a first participation. The minimum area is 6 m².
The part-fitted stand includes carpet, white melamine partitions on 2.50m aluminium uprights, a fascia sign, a 2.6kW electrical connection and one LED strip per 9m² bracket. Bare space includes only the carpet and the electrical connection.
| Poste de dépense | Fourchette basse | Fourchette haute |
|---|---|---|
| Part-fitted stand of 9 m² (9 × €265 excl. VAT, official price list) | €2,385 | €2,385 |
| Compulsory administration and insurance fee (official price list) | €175 | €175 |
| Furniture, storage, additional lighting (supplier order form, indicative) | €200 | €1,000 |
| Transport of collections and samples (indicative) | €300 | €1,500 |
| Accommodation and meals, 2 people, including set-up (indicative) | €800 | €2,000 |
| INDICATIVE TOTAL, 9 m² stand (3 days) | ~€3,900 | ~€7,100 |
Add €250 for a corner stand (a flat amount, the site does not specify a per-m² calculation). A first participation benefits from a 5% discount on the price per m², around €119 on a 9 m² part-fitted stand.
Preparing your visit
For exhibitors
- Order stand furniture and accessories early: the supplier's 2027 order form sets a deadline of 13 December 2026, and the stand plan must be returned before 5 January 2027.
- Plan for set-up on Thursday 21 and Friday 22 January 2027: dismantling is not allowed before 6pm on Monday 25 January.
- Arrive with complete summer collections and finalised sales terms (minimums, lead times, restocking): visitors come to order on the spot.
- Check any payment request carefully: the official website warns of fraudulent emails containing fake bank details and reminds exhibitors that the organiser never communicates a change of bank details by simple email.
For buyer visitors
- Request the invitation online early enough, as activity verification is not instant.
- Filter the official list by theme before coming to plan a route, then set aside time for exhibitors flagged "New".
- Come with a buying budget and reference quantities ready to negotiate on the stand.
CSR policy & initiatives
Neither the trade show's website nor Orgexpo's publishes a CSR policy, a carbon footprint report or ISO 20121 certification specific to the event. Orgexpo does not publish a company-wide programme either.
The verifiable approach sits at venue level: Marseille events, which manages Marseille Chanot, is ISO 20121 certified for space management and hosting all types of events, and the site belongs to the GL events Venues network, which publishes its own commitments.
On the offering side, the exhibitor list includes artisanal and regional products, basketware, pottery, soaps and Provençal goods, but the trade show does not highlight any label or environmental criterion in selecting its exhibitors.

Trajectory analysis
The 2022 move was not a strategic choice from the outset. After the Palais des Expositions in Nice was requisitioned to become a vaccination centre, the January 2022 edition was transferred at short notice to Parc Chanot, keeping its original dates. The move was then made permanent: the organiser reports a 25% rise in the number of exhibitors and a 40% rise in the number of points of sale for 2023 compared with 2022, and booked the Palais Phocéen, the site's largest hall, for that edition.
The organiser presents Marseille as a location at the heart of the Mediterranean arc, the catchment area of its buyers. The calendar itself has not changed: a three-day mid-January date, weekend included, timed to when seasonal shops place their summer orders. The 2027 edition is shifted by close to two weeks, to 23-25 January.
The size stays stable by design. The organiser is not seeking growth in floor space but a cap of around 200 exhibitors and an annual turnover of part of the offering. The number of exhibitors per edition is not published by the organiser, which instead communicates an announced visitor figure of around 10,000 people. For a gift or souvenir supplier targeting shops in the South of France, this is a dense, predictable format rather than a showcase event.
Dates for the 2028 edition had not been announced at the time of writing.
