Agoris analysis · updated October 2026

Key points

  • The SFGM-TC Congress is the annual meeting of the Société Francophone de Greffe de Moelle et de Thérapie Cellulaire (the French-speaking society for bone marrow transplantation and cell therapy), the learned society bringing together haematologists, transplant teams, nurses, coordinators, technicians and researchers around haematopoietic stem cell transplantation and cell therapies, CAR-T included. It is a French-language medical congress with an integrated trade exhibition.
  • Next edition: Wednesday 18 to Friday 20 November 2026, at the Palais du Pharo, Marseille's congress centre, 58 boulevard Charles Livon. According to the preliminary programme, the JACIE-SFGMTC meeting opens Wednesday at 9:30am, the opening session starts at 11:00am and the closing session ends on Friday at 1:15pm.
  • Organiser: the Société Francophone de Greffe de Moelle et de Thérapie Cellulaire (SFGM-TC), a registered association. The congress secretariat, registrations and the sale of partnerships are handled by Europa Organisation, a subsidiary of Europa Group based in Toulouse.
  • Annual frequency, in November, in a different city each edition: Bordeaux in 2022, Lille in 2023, Toulouse in 2024, Geneva in 2025, Marseille in 2026.
  • Exhibition: 18 exhibitors appeared on the exhibition plan of the 2025 edition in Geneva. For 2026, the partners page lists 16 pharmaceutical companies and industry players at the time of writing, sponsors and exhibitors combined.
  • New for 2026: the registration page states that sessions are accessible in person and online, except for the clinical research associates (CRAs) and data managers session. Access to the exhibition remains reserved for registered attendees on site.

Who exhibits

Typical profile

The congress brings together a tight-knit, highly specialised community: the SFGM-TC has more than 500 members from very different backgrounds, serving child and adult patients; the programme brings together physicians, biologists, transplant nurses and coordinators, clinical study technicians and data managers. The audience is primarily French-speaking: the society's board includes Belgian and Swiss members, and the 2025 edition was held in Geneva.

The exhibition is therefore aimed at companies in the transplant and cell therapy pathway: the 2026 symposiums cover conditioning, acute and chronic graft-versus-host disease (GvHD), acute leukaemias and CAR-T, joined by photopheresis specialists such as Therakos. In-person registration includes access to the exhibition, and lunch boxes are handed out in the exhibition area: this is where contacts are made, during breaks and at lunch.

Notable exhibitors

The 2026 partners page, presented as regularly updated, ranks companies by tier. Diamond partners: Clinigen, Medac and Sanofi. Platinum: Novartis. Gold: Daiichi Sankyo. Silver: Gilead and its subsidiary Kite. Exhibitors: Alexion, Fresenius Kabi, Grifols, Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Johnson & Johnson, Pierre Fabre, Servier, Takeda, Therakos and Vertex. The page also lists Sobi among other partners and the Fédération Leucémie Espoir among associations.

Six of these partners host a symposium in the 2026 preliminary programme: Novartis on the paediatric session, Kite and Gilead on CAR-T in lymphoma, Medac on allogeneic transplant conditioning, Clinigen on acute GvHD, Sanofi on chronic GvHD, Daiichi Sankyo on maintenance treatments in acute myeloid leukaemia.

The core of the exhibitors is stable from one year to the next. The 2025 exhibition plan listed 18 stands: Alexion, BMS, Cansearch, Daiichi Sankyo, Fresenius Kabi, the GFIC-GM, Gilead and Kite, Grifols, Incyte, Jazz Pharmaceuticals, MaaT Pharma, Medac, Novartis, Pierre Fabre Médicament, Sanofi, Takeda, Therakos and Vertex. In 2024 in Toulouse, there were 19, including AbbVie, AstraZeneca, MSD France, Pfizer, Immedica Pharma and the Agence de la biomédecine.

Visitor quality

The audience is made up of practitioners who prescribe and carers who administer treatments: physicians and biologists from transplant centres, but also a growing share of paramedical staff according to the editorial of the 2024 programme; in-person registration is free for nurses, CRAs, clinical study technicians, students, psychologists and patients, on proof of status. The GFIC-GM national day, scheduled on Thursday, is aimed at nurses, transplant coordinators and clinical study technicians, judging by the title of the national days on the Archives page.

No attendance figure is published by the organiser. Palexpo, which hosted the 2025 edition, described the congress as bringing together nearly 600 participants over three days; this figure, released by the venue before the event, has not been the subject of a published review.

Activities & community

Conference programme

The 2026 programme is billed as centred on the clinical impact of innovations: optimising haematopoietic stem cell transplants, cellular immunotherapy, infectious and non-infectious complications, and paediatric and adult care pathways. The sequence is well established: opening session on Wednesday, plenary session, agencies session with the Agence de la biomédecine, three oral communication sessions, scientific news of the year, a joint session with the Société Francophone d'Histocompatibilité et d'Immunogénétique, an educational session with UNITC and a “young researchers” session with the Société Française d'Immunologie.

Several parallel programmes target specific audiences: a JACIE-SFGMTC meeting on quality audits on Wednesday morning, a patients session devoted in 2026 to fertility preservation, a psychology session on the pre-transplant interview, the GFIC-GM national day on Thursday and the CRAs and data managers session on Friday, from 9:30am to 1:30pm. The preliminary programme can be downloaded from the website.

Prizes and awards

The congress presents the Capucine prize during Thursday's general assembly, as well as two prizes for young authors, one for the best poster and one for the best oral communication, open in principle to abstracts whose first author is aged 40 or under, presented at Friday's prize-giving.

Community & networks

The SFGM-TC is a French-speaking society: its board brings together members from France, Belgium and Switzerland, and the congress was held outside France in 2025, in Geneva, hosted by a local team. The official language remains French, although abstracts may be submitted in English. The association is also a training body.

A congress evening is held on Thursday 19 November, by reservation only and limited to 300 places.

On site: what you need to know

The congress takes place at the Palais du Pharo, the City of Marseille's congress centre, at the entrance to the Old Port, in a five-hectare park. The venue has a 900-seat auditorium, a 270-seat plenary room and 1,800 m² of exhibition space. The 2026 sessions are spread across the auditorium, the La Major room and room 120.

The Palais du Pharo is about 25 minutes from Marseille Provence airport and close to the TGV station and the coach station, with access via the A7, A55 and A50 motorways. For accommodation, Europa Booking & Services, the congress's official hotel management provider, offers rooms at negotiated rates and handles group requests of more than five rooms, with smaller bookings going through a dedicated online platform; a dedicated platform also lets you book train and plane tickets.

In-person registration: €420 incl. VAT for a member and €570 for a non-member until 15 October 2026, then €500 and €670 from 16 October. Online option: €120 and €220. Free for nurses, CRAs, clinical study technicians, students, psychologists and patients. The registration page asks industry representatives to contact the congress registration department. The congress is declared compliant with the MedTech Europe code.

How much does it cost to exhibit?

The SFGM-TC and Europa Organisation do not publish any online price list for stands or partnership tiers: the partners page refers to a sales contact. The amounts below are indicative orders of magnitude for a medical congress of this size. They are in no way the official rates of the SFGM-TC Congress.

For a pharmaceutical company, the real variable is the partnership tier: the symposiums in the 2026 programme are all hosted by six partners from the Diamond to Silver tiers. Exchanges are governed by the regulations on transparency of conflicts of interest and by the MedTech Europe code, which should be built into your preparation. Rates to be requested from the congress partnerships department.

Preparing your visit

For exhibitors

  • Contact the partnerships department of Europa Organisation early: the format is compact, and the exhibition had 18 stands in 2025 and 19 in 2024.
  • Plan your presence around breaks and lunch: lunch boxes are handed out in the exhibition area, which is when attendees circulate.
  • Arrange contacts for paramedical staff, whose share was growing in 2024 according to the programme editorial: transplant nurses and coordinators handle the administration and follow-up of treatments in practice.
  • Check that invitations, hospitality and materials comply with the conflict-of-interest framework before sending them.
  • Plan stand staff registrations ahead: the registration page asks industry representatives to contact the congress registration department.

For decision-maker visitors

  • Check the in-person registration rates (€500 for a member and €670 for a non-member from 16 October), or choose the online option, announced by the registration page for the sessions, if only the sessions matter: the exhibition, however, is accessible in person only.
  • Identify in the preliminary programme the symposiums of the companies whose products are being evaluated in your department.
  • For paramedical teams, the GFIC-GM day on Thursday and the CRAs and data managers session on Friday are the dedicated highlights.
  • Book the Thursday evening in advance: no place is guaranteed beyond 300 registrants.

CSR policy & initiatives

The congress website publishes no environmental commitments page, no carbon footprint assessment and no ISO 20121 certification for the event. The 2026 novelty, online participation announced for all sessions but one, mechanically reduces some travel, but it is presented as an accessibility choice, not as an environmental initiative.

On the delegated organiser side, Europa Group states that it has begun a process since the start of 2025 to become a mission-driven company (société à mission), a status that requires writing social and environmental objectives into the articles of association and setting up a mission committee. The Palais du Pharo, managed by the City of Marseille, does not publish a site-specific certification process.

The ethics of relations with industry are, on the other hand, documented: the congress is declared compliant with the MedTech Europe code, and the hotel provider states that it offers packages compliant with the French so-called anti-gift law and with the guidelines of the National Council of the Order of Physicians.

Trajectory analysis

The congress follows a regular rhythm: every year, with the exception of 2020 according to the archives, in November and from Wednesday to Friday, in a different city, with in recent years a local organiser drawn from the host city's transplant team, as in Toulouse in 2024, Geneva in 2025 and Marseille in 2026. The site's archives mention no edition in 2020, and the numbering goes from the 19th, in 2019, to the 20th, in 2021. The tour crossed the border in 2025 with Geneva, in keeping with the society's stated French-speaking dimension.

The exhibition remains stable in size, around twenty stands in 2024 and 2025, with a core of loyal companies: Alexion, Fresenius Kabi, Gilead and Kite, Grifols, Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Medac, Novartis, Pierre Fabre, Sanofi, Takeda, Therakos and Vertex were present in 2024 as in 2025. The core is stable (12 exhibitors common to both lists), the rest changes from one year to the next, and the 2026 symposiums show where companies' investment is concentrated: GvHD, conditioning, acute leukaemias and CAR-T.

For an industry player, the congress's appeal lies less in its size than in its concentration: in three days, it brings together French-speaking transplant teams, physicians and carers, in a format where the exhibition is the place for breaks. The venue and dates of the 2027 edition had not been announced at the time of writing.
