Agoris analysis · updated October 2026

Key takeaways

  • Urgences is the annual national congress of the Société Française de Médecine d'Urgence (SFMU), the French emergency medicine society: the meeting point for French-speaking emergency medicine, both in hospital and pre-hospital. It is a medical congress: lectures, hands-on workshops, scientific papers, and an integrated commercial exhibition where manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies, software publishers and institutions meet emergency department teams.
  • Next edition: Urgences 2027, from Wednesday 2 to Friday 4 June 2027 at the Palais des Congrès de Paris, Porte Maillot, preceded on Tuesday 1 June by pre-congress training sessions. The SFMU calendar lists the event as running from 1 to 4 June 2027, pre-congress included.
  • Organiser: the SFMU, the learned society for emergency medicine. General organisation, registration and industry partnerships are entrusted to the agency MCO Congrès, based in Marseille. The logo of Samu-Urgences de France (SUdF) appears alongside that of the SFMU on the 2027 edition's visuals.
  • Annual frequency, held every year in early June at the Palais des Congrès de Paris since at least 2023.
  • The 2026 partner directory lists 112 exhibitors and partners, including 17 SFMU partners, 9 of them ranked Platinum, Gold or Silver. Registration for the 2027 edition opens in early January 2027.

Who exhibits

Typical profile

The commercial exhibition is part of the congress: access is included in the participants' registration, like the scientific sessions and the lunch breaks organised around the industry symposiums. Manufacturers meet the practitioners and carers who use emergency equipment, medicines and digital tools every day.

The 2026 directory groups exhibitors into broad families: medical equipment and devices (defibrillators, ultrasound scanners, monitoring, ventilation, immobilisation, single-use equipment), therapeutics and pharmaceutical products, pre-hospital emergency care with telecommunications and medical transport, health innovation and artificial intelligence, training and simulation, insurance, press and banks, and institutional partners and associations. It also includes hospitals and hospital groupings (CHU de Martinique, GHT du Var, GHT Léman Mont-Blanc, Bastia hospital centre) and organisations recruiting carers and doctors, as well as a "Village de l'Urgence" that brings together the learned societies and associations of the specialty.

For an industry exhibitor, the 2027 partners page lists partnership management under stands, industry conferences, startups, general logistics and communication.

Notable exhibitors

The 2026 partner directory lists the exhibitors and partners of the 2026 edition; the 2027 list has not yet been published. SFMU Platinum partner: Viatris. Gold partners: Boehringer Ingelheim and Fisher & Paykel Healthcare. Silver partners: Abbott, Abbott Rapid Diagnostics, bioMérieux, Laboratoires Ethypharm, QuidelOrtho and Stryker. SFMU partners: Agence du Numérique en Santé, Aguettant, Air Liquide Healthcare, Bisom, Exos, GE HealthCare, Laerdal Medical France and Winfocus France.

Among the exhibitors at the 2026 congress: BD, Baxter, Cepheid, Cook Medical, Corpuls by Connectmed, Fujifilm Sonosite, Hamilton Medical, HemoCue France, Karl Storz, Mindray, Nihon Kohden, Philips, Teleflex Medical, Weinmann Emergency France and Werfen for equipment and diagnostics; Enovacom Nomadeec, Nexpublica Centaure 15, Parsys Télémédecine and Medadom for digital and telemedicine. On the institutional side, the Service de santé des armées (the French armed forces medical service) and the Réserve sanitaire of Santé publique France each had a stand.

Visitor quality

The congress is aimed at the whole emergency chain. Registration fees distinguish doctors, carers, medical dispatch assistants (ARM) and students, from the emergency medicine DES (specialist training) to students at nursing schools (IFSI) and ARM training centres. The SFMU brings together French-speaking emergency care and emergency medicine professionals: doctors, nurses, care assistants, social workers, psychologists, ARM and ambulance staff, and, according to its own presentation, has more than 3,000 member practitioners. It points out that hospital emergency departments receive more than 20 million patients a year and that the Centres 15 (emergency call centres) handle 36 million calls.

The homepage counter, read in October 2026, shows more than 4,107 participants, 740 speakers, 1,500 contributions, 125 partners, 85 workshop sessions and 15 industry conferences. Its values have changed since May 2026, but the site does not say which edition they refer to, and no third-party audit is published.

Activities & community

Conference programme

The 2027 programme has not yet been published: the call for papers is open until midnight on 16 December 2026, and the selection of papers is scheduled for early February 2027. The congress has a stated dual mission: scientific, with an anonymous selection of clinical research papers, and continuing medical education, with practical workshops, courses, lectures, debates and symposiums.

The 2026 programme combined lectures, round tables, hands-on workshops, pre-congress training, interactive sessions and free papers. Selected papers are presented as flash communications or oral presentations, and only abstracts in French are accepted.

Industry conferences, Urgences Démos and UrgencesMeet

For an industry exhibitor, speaking opportunities go through the industry conferences, whose 2026 replays are online, and through the Urgences Démos presentations, devoted to health innovations. UrgencesMeet brings together, across "4 lieux" (4 venues), the sessions and activities of the commissions and boards of the SFMU, of SUdF and of associated institutions; in 2026, the directory linked to it a young professionals' area, a networking area, an activity area, a TV studio and the Village de l'Urgence.

Prizes and competitions

The best papers receive the U d'or, U d'argent and U de bronze prizes, awarded separately to the doctors' and carers' programmes, as well as a prize for the best DES communication. The ultrasound prize is named "Sonde d'Or Winfocus 2026" in 2026. The site of the congress also announced the "Sono's Cup 2026", an ultrasound competition organised with WINFOCUS France on Friday 5 June 2026, and the 2026 directory lists a play-based learning association, Rescape Game, among the exhibitors.

Community & networks

The SFMU was formed in 2006 from the merger of the Société Francophone de Médecine d'Urgence and Samu-Urgences de France. Around the congress, it runs a training calendar all year round: the monthly webinars "Urgences le Mensuel", the Journées Thématiques Interactives and several masterclasses (ultrasound, medical dispatch, cardiac arrest, management, non-life-threatening trauma). For an exhibitor, this is a community that meets well beyond the three days in June.

On site: what to know

The congress takes place at the Palais des Congrès de Paris, 2 place de la Porte Maillot, in the 17th arrondissement. In 2026, reception was on level 2 and the rooms were spread over levels 2 and 3; the access page for the 2027 edition is not yet online.

Getting there: metro line 1, Porte Maillot station, exit 3; RER C and RER E, Neuilly - Porte Maillot station; tram T3b; buses 43, 73, 82, 244 and PC. By car, direct access from the Boulevard Périphérique. A shuttle links directly to Charles de Gaulle airport in around 30 minutes.

The 2027 opening hours and accommodation information have not yet been published. On-site registration will be possible from 2 to 4 June 2027, at rates increased by 20%.

How much does it cost to exhibit

The SFMU and MCO Congrès do not publish any stand price list online: requests for stands, industry conferences and startup participation go through the form and the partnerships team on the Become a Partner in 2027 page. The amounts below are indicative orders of magnitude for a medical congress of this format at the Palais des Congrès de Paris. They are in no way the official rates of the Urgences congress.
Poste de dépenseFourchette basseFourchette haute
Stand space in the commercial exhibition, depending on area and location (on quotation)€3,000€30,000
Stand fit-out, furniture, electricity and signage€1,500€15,000
Team travel and accommodation in Paris (3 days)€1,500€6,000
Industry conference included in the programme (on quotation, optional)€5,000€30,000
INDICATIVE TOTAL, stand only (3 days, 2 to 5 people)~€6,000~€51,000
INDICATIVE TOTAL, stand and industry conference~€11,000~€81,000

At a learned-society congress, the item that makes the difference is often speaking: an industry conference is scheduled in the lunch breaks, which the organiser ties to the industry symposiums in the services included in registration. The congress also recommends eco-responsible approaches to partners (reusable stands, recyclable carpet, zero paper), to be built into the stand contractor's quotation from the outset. Rates to be requested from MCO Congrès.

Preparing your visit

For exhibitors

  • Get in touch via the Become a Partner in 2027 page: commercial contact form and the MCO Congrès partnerships team.
  • Aim for an industry conference or an Urgences Démos presentation if you are launching a product: these are the formats provided for presenting an innovation to the congress audience.
  • Use the congress communication kit, which includes a "J'exposerai !" ("I will be exhibiting!") visual and an email signature banner, to announce your presence and stand number.
  • Prepare a stand following the recommendations of the MCO Congrès guide for partners on a sustainable congress: reusable structure, eco-designed signage, energy-efficient equipment, paperless communication.

For decision-maker visitors

  • Register from early January 2027, the announced opening date. The fees displayed for 2027 for individual registration are €420 incl. VAT for a doctor who is an SFMU member and €670 incl. VAT for a non-member (three days), €200 and €360 incl. VAT for carers and ARM; registration is free for medical students in DFASM, and for students at IFSI and CFARM.
  • Registrations by post are accepted before 16 May 2027; after that, online registration is compulsory. On-site registration, from 2 to 4 June, is at rates increased by 20%. The page also mentions rates increased by 20% from 16 May 2027 in connection with applications for funding by an institution.
  • Think about the replay: registration gives access, from the following day, to viewing the lectures for six months (excluding workshops, pre-courses and interactive sessions).
  • The pre-congress training sessions on 1 June are registered for separately and do not give access to the three days of the congress.

Policy & CSR initiatives

In 2026, on its "green congress" page, the congress displayed a sustainability approach under way since 2022, with the aim of a congress "without plastic, without waste and almost without paper". The measures listed: removal of the printed programme and of poster displays in favour of projected flash communications, removal of the carpet in the reception area, collection and recycling of badges and lanyards, free-access water fountains, an ISO-certified eco-responsible caterer, reusable stand partitions, rented furniture, recyclable carpet, waste sorting and off-site logistics set up by Viparis via Schenker. According to the same page, 15% of badges were collected at the 2025 edition. This page has not been online since the site moved to the 2027 edition.

For partners, MCO Congrès publishes a guide to a sustainable congress, still offered on the 2027 partners page, with ten commitments: reusable stands, reusable or recyclable carpet, eco-designed signage, energy-efficient equipment, a carrier that has signed the Objectif CO2 charter, responsible communication, waste sorting, committed suppliers, accessibility and pooling of travel.

As for the venue, the Palais des Congrès de Paris is one of the Viparis sites, which states that in 2014 it was the first events operator in the world certified ISO 20121 across all its sites and activity. No ISO 20121 certification specific to the Urgences congress is displayed.

Trajectory analysis

The Urgences congress is highly stable: same venue, the Palais des Congrès de Paris, and same slot, early June, on every edition checked since 2023. For an exhibitor, it is an event that can be planned from one year to the next with no logistical surprises.

For 2027, the pre-congress training sessions are announced for Tuesday 1 June, before the three days of the congress. The site does not make it possible to say whether this calendar differs from that of 2026. The exhibition, the partner offering and the sustainability programme are managed by the same agency, MCO Congrès, which ensures continuity of contacts.

The published figures remain those of an undated counter. The only verifiable count is that of the 2026 directory: 112 exhibitors and partners, including a significant share of players in medical devices, diagnostics and digital health, alongside the major pharmaceutical companies.

All data that does not mention its source comes from the organiser's website.

Unless otherwise stated, all factual data in this listing comes from the organiser's official website (urgences-lecongres.org).
