Visitor quality

The trade show targets industrial cleanroom users, engineers and decision-makers at research and development centres, and decision-makers at healthcare facilities. The sectors involved range from pharmaceuticals to medical devices, via microelectronics, cosmetics and hospitals.

The 2025 report describes an audience made up mainly of client organisations, mostly national, with 55% first-time visitors. Attendance rose from one edition to the next: 3,500 visitors in 2023, more than 4,200 in 2025, for 150 exhibitors both times. No OJS certification or third-party audit is published: these are the organiser's own figures.

Conference programme

The ContaminExpert congress is the scientific strand of the event. In 2025, it brought together 27 technical talks and case studies, delivered by 37 speakers, around four themes: regulatory and standards data and frameworks, innovation and data management, energy performance, and risk management and prevention. Alongside it, the Espace Agora offered visitors free-access talks on market trends and the fundamentals of the trade.

The 2027 programme has not yet been published. The call for papers is open until 3 November 2026, and topics are selected by ASPEC's Scientific Council. The proposed themes cover innovation (AI, sensors, predictive maintenance), regulation and frameworks, management of adverse events, CSR and energy optimisation. The organiser recommends talks delivered in pairs with a user and rules out sales pitches.

Prizes and awards

The Prix de l'Innovation 2027, organised by ASPEC and the journal Salles Propres, is open to exhibitors only and free to enter. It rewards innovations brought to the European market since 1 January 2025, in three categories: Cleanroom Components, Operating Equipment and Services. Entries must be submitted by 15 January 2027; winners will be announced at the opening cocktail, on Tuesday 23 March 2027. All entrants will have a space on the Mur des Innovations.

On the congress side, the ContaminExpert Prix scientifique 2027 is awarded by ASPEC's Scientific Council based on papers submitted by speakers. In 2025, it went to a cleaning optimisation initiative in a chemotherapy unit at Clermont-Ferrand University Hospital.

Full-scale cleanrooms

This is the trade show's signature feature. In 2025, four full-scale cleanrooms, selected in advance, were installed on the show floor and open to visit without access restrictions: a room representative of pharmaceutical and semiconductor environments, a mobile, deployable infrastructure for hospital or industrial extensions, transportable modules for pharma, semiconductors and data centres, and a unit focused on modularity and ease of cleaning. The 2027 set-up has not yet been detailed.

Community & networks

ContaminExpo is the flagship event of an association with 900 members, split between individual members (researchers, teachers, healthcare staff), suppliers and consultancies, and cleanroom users. The ASPEC evening on the second day, 24 March 2027, is the edition's networking moment.

On site: what you need to know

The trade show occupies Hall 5.1 of Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, 1 place de la Porte de Versailles, in the 15th arrondissement. Access by metro line 12, tram T2 and T3, and bus routes 39 and 80, all at the Porte de Versailles stop. By car, take the Porte de Versailles exit off the ring road (boulevard périphérique). A left-luggage service is signposted nearby.

Registration is mandatory, including for the free exhibition. Visitors are advised to print their badge in advance. Registered visitors can book free project meetings with exhibitors from their visitor area. The official website offers a hotel booking page.

For the exhibitor

• Check your ASPEC membership status before signing: the subscription must be up to date when the order form is signed to qualify for the member rate.
• Apply for the Prix de l'Innovation before 15 January 2027: entry is free and gives access to the Mur des Innovations, even without winning.
• Submit a talk proposal to ContaminExpert before 3 November 2026, ideally paired with a client user: it's the format the organiser favours.
• Activate the project meetings platform, free for both exhibitors and visitors.
• Budget for electricity separately: it is not included in any stand package.

For the decision-making visitor

• Register early and weigh up the free exhibition against the paid congress: the latter is where regulatory developments are discussed.
• Schedule a visit to the full-scale cleanrooms, which let you compare solutions under real conditions.
• Book project meetings in advance from the visitor area for a cleanroom construction or renovation project.

CSR policy & initiatives

ContaminExpo's website has no dedicated section on environmental commitments, and no ISO 20121 certification for the event is displayed.

At organiser level, ASPEC publishes a short CSR policy statement on its presentation page, stating particular attention to the sustainability of each of its events, without any numerical target. The only figures published are a waste recycling certificate for the association's office waste in 2024, which does not concern the trade show.

The venue provides a more documented framework: Viparis, which operates Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, states it was the first events player in the world to be certified ISO 20121 across all its sites and its whole activity, as early as 2014, and runs a programme called Better Events.

On the content side, cleanroom energy performance is a recurring congress theme: it was one of the four themes in 2025, and the 2027 call for papers includes a CSR and energy optimisation theme. This is a programme topic, to be distinguished from an organisational commitment by the event itself.

How the trade show has evolved

Trajectory analysis

The pace has been stable for a long time: a Paris trade show every two years, in spring, at Porte de Versailles. The only recent departure was 2021, when the edition planned for June was pushed back to October by the health crisis, with attendance down. The organiser presents the event as 40 years old.

The recovery since is clear. With exhibitor numbers steady at 150 in both 2023 and 2025, attendance rose from 3,500 to more than 4,200 visitors, and the 2025 report highlights the arrival of new entrants to the cleanroom field.

For 2027, the change of hall, from 2.2 to 5.1, and the addition of a TV set show a trade show polishing its visibility for its 20th edition, presented as an anniversary edition. The 2025 report mentions areas for improvement and working groups set up to develop future editions, without detailing their content.
