Key takeaways

  • Cycl'Eau Montpellier-Occitanie is a professional trade show for the water sector in Occitanie: two days of exhibition, conferences and workshops devoted to water management at the heart of the river basin; in 2025, the themes ranged from sewerage networks to rainwater and the reuse of treated wastewater. It belongs to the Cycl'Eau network of regional events, organised basin by basin.
  • Next edition: the second, from Wednesday 24 to Thursday 25 March 2027, at the Parc des Expositions de Montpellier, route de la Foire, in the commune of Pérols. Open from 9am to 6pm on Wednesday and from 9am to 5pm on Thursday. Free admission, registration required.
  • Organiser: the Association Cycl'Eau, registered with the Bordeaux prefecture. The website states that Cycl'Eau was created in 2017. No co-organiser.
  • Frequency: biennial. The first edition was held on 19 and 20 March 2025 at the same exhibition centre, following a thematic day organised in Montpellier in May 2023. In Occitanie, the network alternates between the two metropolises: Toulouse in even-numbered years since 2022, Montpellier in odd-numbered years (thematic day in 2023, trade shows in 2025 and 2027).
  • No statistical review of the 2025 edition has been published. As of 3 October 2026, the 2027 exhibitors page lists 22 registered companies, including Xylem Water Solutions France, KSB, Diehl Metering and Sewerin.
  • Announced programme for 2027: 7 institutional conferences, 10 experience-sharing workshops, expert villages, an Innovation Village, an Occitan Pavilion run by the regional agency AD'OCC, B2B meetings and guided tours.

Who exhibits

Typical profile

In 2025, the directory sorted exhibitors into seven families: pipe-laying contractors, solution providers, project management, design consultancies and laboratories (a single family), merchants and distributors, training bodies, local authorities, and an “Others” category that notably hosted institutions. In practice, it includes manufacturers of pipes, foundry parts and fittings, and specialists in pumping, metering and leak detection, measurement instrumentation, water treatment and stormwater management.

In this directory, solution providers dominated (66 listings out of 138), ahead of the “Others” category (21), pipe-laying contractors (18) and training bodies (14). Three collective areas were added, giving the trade show its regional character: the Innovation Village, where 20 members of the Aqua-Valley competitiveness cluster were announced; the Occitan Pavilion, which was to bring together, under the AD'OCC banner, innovative Occitanie companies that are not members of a competitiveness cluster; and the Research and Training Village, which announced about thirty universities, engineering schools, secondary schools and research networks from Occitanie.

Notable exhibitors

The 2027 edition exhibitors page is updated as registrations come in. As of 3 October 2026, it lists 22 companies, including Xylem Water Solutions France, KSB, Diehl Metering, Sewerin, Plasson, Poloplast France, Bayard, Fonderies Dechaumont, Huot, WEG, Aqualabo, Technirel, Itecom, Groupe Nordikeau and Wimplex Production, based in Mauguio.

The 2025 edition gives a sense of the full line-up. Its directory, archived the day after the trade show, contained more than 130 listings, institutional partners, schools and laboratories included: this is not an official review, but an order of magnitude. The organiser had announced nearly 100 exhibitors in its press release of February 2025; no review has been published since. In the directory, notable names included Saint-Gobain PAM Canalisation, OTV Veolia, Frans Bonhomme, AVK France, Kamstrup, Kingspan, Amiblu, Bonna Sabla, Solmax and Lacroix, alongside the Banque des Territoires, BRL and the Régie des Eaux de Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole.

Quality of the audience

The association states its aim of connecting elected officials, local authorities, delegated operators, manufacturers, design consultancies, solution providers and merchant networks. The 2027 edition page also addresses students and enthusiasts; in 2025, the Research and Training Village hosted higher education institutions and research laboratories from Occitanie.

No attendance figure is published for Montpellier, nor any OJS certification. The website home page displays aggregate figures for all Cycl'Eau events, with no breakdown by edition: they say nothing about the Montpellier audience and are not reproduced here.

Events & community

Conference programme

The 2027 programme is not yet online: the dedicated section shows no sessions as of 3 October 2026. The organiser announces 7 institutional conferences and 10 experience-sharing workshops, the same format as in 2025. The conferences and workshops are designed with the trade show's partners in steering committees.

The 2025 programme sheds light on the editorial line. On the conference side: water management in a Mediterranean context facing risks, a round table chaired by the Occitanie Region and AD'OCC; an institutional plenary with local elected officials; the reuse of non-conventional water; wastewater and stormwater collection; uses and sharing of the resource; rainwater; therapeutic water. On the workshop side: the presentation of the 12th intervention programme of the Rhône Méditerranée Corse Water Agency, the regional hydraulic network as a tool for adapting to climate change, cooperation between Quebec and France, and two sessions devoted to the work of doctoral students in Occitanie.

Four tours rounded out the 2025 programme: the Aqua Domitia pumping station in Mauguio, managed by BRL Exploitation and connected to the regional hydraulic network; Place Jacques Cœur, a former concrete courtyard of the exhibition centre turned into a garden, in the presence of SPL Occitanie Events, the project owner; the vehicle of the European Life ReWA project, a mobile treatment unit for the reuse of treated wastewater, led in particular by the Régie des Eaux de Montpellier; and the Discovery Machine, a mobile science-outreach facility. The 2025 programme also included, at the end of the first day, an awards ceremony for the “Commune économe en eau” (water-saving municipality) label, presented by ALEC Montpellier.

Villages and areas

The 2025 programme announced several areas: the Partners' Village, with the Water Agency, the Region, the Métropole and BRL; the Innovation Village, run by Aqua-Valley in partnership with the Aquanova cluster; AD'OCC's Occitan Pavilion; the Research and Training Village and its poster area; an educational area run by the Office International de l'Eau; the ATEP village, the professional organisation for on-plot water management, with its own series of short talks; and a jobs wall offered with Emploi-Environnement.

For 2027, the organiser announces the Innovation Village and the Occitan Pavilion. The list of villages is not yet detailed on the website.

Community & networks

The major partners of the 2027 edition are the Rhône Méditerranée Corse Water Agency, the Occitanie Region, Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole (MedVallée) and BRL. The official partners are AD'OCC, the Aquanova cluster, ASTEE, FRTP Occitanie, Les Canalisateurs and the Office International de l'Eau. The organiser points out that Montpellier hosts the UNESCO ICIREWARD International Centre and the headquarters of the Aqua-Valley competitiveness cluster.

B2B meetings are an acknowledged part of the format. In 2025, they were organised with AD'OCC: 20-minute meetings, scheduled in advance on a dedicated platform, which exhibitors could host directly on their stand.

The trade show is part of a network of regional events. The next ones are Cycl'Eau Provence-Alpes-Méditerranée, on 25 and 26 November 2026 at the Arena du Pays d'Aix, Cycl'Eau Bordeaux Nouvelle-Aquitaine, on 2 and 3 June 2027 at the Palais de l'Atlantique, Cycl'Eau Corsica, on 29 and 30 September 2027 in Bastia, and Cycl'Eau Clermont-Auvergne, on 24 and 25 November 2027 at the Polydome. Each edition has its own exhibitor list. Cycl'Eau presents itself as a local event, organised at the scale of river basins, in a human-sized format. Other events devoted to water or the environment are listed on Agoris, such as the Carrefour des Gestions Locales de l'Eau in Rennes or Pollutec, the environment and energy trade show, in Lyon.

On site: what you need to know

The trade show takes place at the Parc des Expositions de Montpellier, route de la Foire, 34470 Pérols. The hall for the 2027 edition has not yet been announced and the floor plan is not available; in 2025, the trade show occupied hall B2.

The access information published for the 2025 edition remains useful: tram line 3, towards Pérols Étang de l'Or, Parc Expo stop; bus line 28, Parc Expo stop; car park P1B, car park entrance B. Montpellier Sud de France station is a 6-minute drive away, Saint-Roch station 14 minutes, and Montpellier Méditerranée airport 4 minutes.

2027 opening hours: Wednesday 24 March, 9am to 6pm; Thursday 25 March, 9am to 5pm. Admission is free for visitors, with mandatory registration. The network's mobile app gives access to the floor plan, the programme and a badge scanner to keep track of your contacts.

How much it costs to exhibit

The Association Cycl'Eau does not publish any price list online: participation goes through a request on its website, followed by an online quote. The amounts below are indicative sector-wide orders of magnitude for a two-day regional trade show. They are in no way the official rates of Cycl'Eau Montpellier-Occitanie.

The only official element known: the association's general terms and conditions set the cancellation scale, under which 40% of the invoiced amount remains due up to 90 days before the trade show, 60% from 89 to 60 days, and the full amount from 59 days. For the March 2027 edition, the full amount is due in the event of withdrawal from 24 January 2027 (calculated in calendar days from the first day of the trade show, 24 March 2027). Request prices from the organiser.

Preparing your visit

For the exhibitor

  • Register early: the participation request is made online and validating the quote constitutes a firm commitment. Keep in mind the cancellation scale, which rises to 60% after 24 December 2026 and to 100% after 23 January 2027.
  • Submit any stand design project to the organiser no later than one month before opening, as required by the general terms and conditions.
  • Prepare the B2B meetings in advance: in 2025, they were scheduled before the trade show on a dedicated platform, brought together buyers and solution providers, and could be held on the exhibitor's stand.
  • Ask the organiser about the arrangements for speaking slots: the programme is designed with the trade show's partners in steering committees, and the 2025 workshops were proposed by partners and institutions (BRL, Banque des Territoires, the Water Agency, the Occitanie Region, Polytech Montpellier, Pôle Universitaire d'Innovation, Réseau Science(s) en Occitanie), with the exception of one session on partnerships between Quebec and France led by the Nordikeau group, itself an exhibitor; no page describes an application procedure for exhibitors.
  • For an innovative company from Occitanie, two collective presences existed in 2025: the Innovation Village, run by the Aqua-Valley cluster (20 members of the cluster), and the Occitan Pavilion, which was to bring together, under the AD'OCC banner, innovative Occitanie companies that are not members of a competitiveness cluster. The 2027 conditions have not been published.

For the decision-making visitor

  • Register in advance: admission is free but registration is mandatory.
  • Book, as soon as registration opens, any tours that require it: in 2025, the Aqua Domitia station tour required registration and had limited places.
  • Once the programme is published, look out for the Water Agency's sessions: in 2025, a workshop presented its 12th intervention programme, which sets the framework for its support for projects in the basin.
  • The trade show closes at 5pm on Thursday (6pm on Wednesday): schedule meetings and key sessions accordingly.

Policy & CSR initiatives

Sustainable water management is the very subject of the trade show: water sobriety, reuse of treated wastewater, integrated stormwater management, sharing the resource in a context of drought. This content should nevertheless be distinguished from an organisational commitment. Neither the event website nor the Association Cycl'Eau publishes a CSR policy, a carbon footprint or an ISO 20121 certification: the site has no dedicated section.

The venue provides a documented guarantee. The Parc des Expositions de Montpellier is managed by SPL Occitanie Events, which also operates the Sud de France Arena. According to the park's website, it has been ISO 20121 certified by AFNOR since January 2021, a certification renewed for three years in December 2023.

The park also featured in the 2025 programme: the tour of Place Jacques Cœur, a former concrete courtyard turned into a garden for which SPL Occitanie Events is the project owner, presented 1,082 plants and 196 m³ of water expected to be captured by the soil in each ordinary rainfall, to reinfiltrate stormwater and reduce the risk of flooding by runoff.

Trajectory analysis

Cycl'Eau Montpellier-Occitanie is a young trade show, but it does not start from scratch. The association first established its brand in Occitanie in Toulouse: a virtual edition in January 2021, imposed by the health context, then trade shows in 2022, 2024 and 2026. Montpellier, for its part, hosted a thematic day in May 2023 on the links between global change and water management in Occitanie, before its first trade show in March 2025. Since then, the two metropolises have shared the region, each taking one year in two, in line with the biennial rhythm adopted by the network since 2021.

The organiser describes the local context as follows: Occitanie faces a water deficit of around 80 million m³ a year, and the Montpellier area buys most of the fresh water it lacks from the Rhône, 80 km away. The trade show follows on from the May 2023 thematic day, as its February 2025 press release recalled. The 2025 programme reflected this context: BRL among the partners of the first edition, a tour of the Aqua Domitia station, a workshop on the regional hydraulic network as a tool for adapting to climate change.

With no published review, the retention of 2025 exhibitors is the only indicator available. Of the 22 companies registered for the 2027 edition as of 3 October 2026, fourteen were already in the 2025 directory, including Bayard, Fonderies Dechaumont, Huot, KSB and Poloplast France. The newcomers include specialists in pumping, metering and leak detection, such as Xylem Water Solutions France, Diehl Metering and Sewerin. At this date, the trade show is nearly six months from opening: a comparison with the more than 130 listings of 2025 (nearly 100 exhibitors announced) will only be meaningful closer to the event.

The list of partners has also evolved. The UNESCO ICIREWARD Centre and the Aqua-Valley cluster, cited among the partners of the first edition, do not appear in the 2027 list, which notably includes the Aquanova cluster (already associated with the Innovation Village in 2025), ASTEE and the Office International de l'Eau (which was to run the Espace Pédag'eau in 2025). For an exhibitor, the core does not change: the Water Agency, the Region, the Métropole and BRL.

No edition beyond 2027 has been announced.
