Agoris analysis · updated November 2026

Key takeaways

  • The Forum International Bois Construction (FBC) is the major annual meeting point for construction, renovation and fit-out using timber, bio-based and geo-sourced materials, and reuse. Its format is hybrid: a congress of several hundred conferences, a trade show of exhibitors under the nave and an architecture exhibition on the mezzanine.
  • Next edition: the 16th, from Wednesday 10 to Friday 12 February 2027, at the Grand Palais in Paris. The Billetweb ticket office lists an event running from 10 February at 8:30am to 12 February at 5:00pm; daily opening hours are not published.
  • A second edition is already scheduled for the same year: the 17th, from 27 to 29 October 2027, split between the ENSTIB in Épinal and the Centre Prouvé in Nancy. This listing covers the February edition in Paris.
  • Organiser: Nvbcom, a Paris-based press and communications agency that provides the curation and organisation of the Forum, alongside a large group of co-organisers from the industry.
  • Annual frequency since 2011, with no edition in 2020.
  • Results of the 15th edition, in February 2026 at the Grand Palais: 17,987 admissions, 326 exhibitors in the nave and 124 architecture practices and engineering consultancies in the Galerie de l'Architecture Bois/Biosourcée du 21e siècle (the 21st-century timber and bio-based architecture gallery).

Who exhibits

Typical profile

According to the 2026 press release, the nave of the Grand Palais brings together manufacturers, suppliers, builders, engineering consultancies and schools, facing the architecture gallery set up on the mezzanine. The 2027 call for applications for the Tribune des Innovations is aimed at manufacturers, sawmillers, builders, joiners, developers, engineering consultancies, incubators and start-ups. The scope also covers bio-based and geo-sourced materials (timber, hemp, straw, earth), and the 2026 results press release names, as partners of the edition, trade associations and federations including Fibois Île-de-France, the UICCB, the UIPC, the FNB and France Bois Forêt.

Two features complement the stands. The Tribune des Innovations lets a manufacturer present an innovation in a 15-minute pitch, subject to approval by a jury. The Éco-Matériauthèque (eco-materials library) displays new products; in 2026, produced in partnership with Matériaux.archi, it brought together more than 250 eco-materials. The deadline for submitting applications to the 2027 call was set at 30 September 2026.

Notable exhibitors

No exhibitor list tied to the 2027 edition is published. The official website's Exhibitors page gives access to the 2027 exhibitor packs for Paris and Nancy and to the 2024 exhibitor plan, and shows a wall of exhibitor logos with no edition indicated.

The official results of the 2026 edition name several players who took part: the Malvaux group, whose chairman Philippe Denavit highlights the Forum's openness to all uses of timber; Bouygues Bâtiment Île-de-France and Simpson Strong-Tie, who signed a partnership there around a patented timber connection innovation; INGENECO Technologies, present at the Tribune des Innovations with the Pirmil Les Isles programme. The Union des Industriels du Panneau Contreplaqué (plywood panel manufacturers' union) held a Plywood Morning there.

Visitor quality

The largest group of participants is design professionals (maîtrise d'œuvre). According to the 2027 brochure, participants in the 2026 edition broke down as follows: 41% lead designers (maîtres d'œuvre), architects, designers, urban planners, engineers, engineering consultancies and economists; 24% builders, carpenters, joiners, fit-out contractors and construction companies; 14% manufacturers and distributors; 12% public and private project owners, developers, property promoters, landlords, elected officials and local authorities; 6% from diagnostics, certification, research and training; 3% press.

For a manufacturer, this profile makes it possible to meet, in one place, the architect who specifies, the engineering consultancy that sizes the structure and the project owner who commissions. The organiser reports 40 countries represented in 2026. No independent audit (OJS) of attendance is published: the figures are the organiser's own, expressed as admissions.

Programme & community

Conference programme

The congress is the historic heart of the Forum. In 2026, more than 600 speakers delivered 274 conferences, built largely from calls for projects: each edition showcases recent, emblematic projects presented by their clients, architects, engineers and companies. The deadline for submitting applications to the 2027 conference call was set at 30 September 2026. The programme for the 2027 edition had not been published at the time of writing.

The 2026 edition served as a platform for several industry announcements: the signing of the Alliance Éco-Matériaux, which brings together fifteen organisations committed to bio-based and geo-sourced materials; the creation of the Comité Filière Forêt Bois Française, led by France Bois Forêt; the launch of the France Bois 2030 mission, dedicated to timber in the structures for the 2030 French Alps Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Conferences from past editions are available as replays, and the 2027 congress pass includes access to conference replays after the Forum.

Gallery, awards and tours

The Galerie de l'Architecture Bois/Biosourcée du 21e siècle occupies the mezzanine of the Grand Palais. Launched in 2025, it brought together 124 architecture and design practices and engineering consultancies in 2026, with more than 700 projects over 3,600 m². The exhibition is led by the Conseil National de l'Ordre des Architectes.

The Prix International Architecture Bois (International Timber Architecture Prize), awarded by the specialist press of six European countries, was presented for its 8th edition on 26 February 2026 at the Grand Palais. The Prix National de la Construction en Chanvre (National Hemp Construction Prize), organised by Construire en Chanvre with the support of InterChanvre, was also presented there.

Finally, the Forum organises tours of timber and bio-based buildings and construction sites: six programmes in the Île-de-France region in 2026. The 2027 ticket office once again offers a tour pass, for a half day or a full day.

Community & networks

The 2027 co-organisation listed in the brochure includes the Ameublement Français, the Association Filière Hors Site France, the CAPEB-UNA Charpente Menuiserie Agencement, the CODIFAB, Ekopolis, the ENSA Paris-Belleville, the ENSA MAP-CRAI Nancy, the ENSTIB, the ESB, Fibois France, Fibois Île-de-France, Fibois Grand Est, France Bois 2030, France Bois Forêt, the FNB, Interchanvre, La Maison du Passif, the Ordre des Architectes, the UICCB, the UIPC, the UMB-FFB and the UNSFA.

The FBC website is co-branded with Forum Holzbau, an international timber construction platform whose contact is based in Biel, Switzerland.

Not to be confused with two other events for the timber industry: the Carrefour International du Bois and Eurobois, which are separate trade shows.

On site: what you need to know

The Forum occupies the nave and the mezzanine of the Grand Palais, 13 avenue du Général Eisenhower, in the 8th arrondissement. Access by metro on lines 1 and 9, Franklin D. Roosevelt station.

The online ticket office, run on Billetweb, offers several passes: congress (conferences, trade show, exhibitions, coffee breaks), visitor (trade show and exhibitions only), student, remote (live conferences for one day) and tours. Lunches and dinners are booked separately. Prices are shown when you place your order. In 2026, the Forum was open to the general public for all three days at a price of €36, with free access on Friday afternoon; the public access terms for 2027 had not been published at the time of writing.

The Registration page of the website refers to a hotel partner for accommodation.

Preparing your visit

For exhibitors

  • Book before 18 December 2026: after that date, the price list carries a 20% surcharge.
  • Choose between a bare stand, whose design (plan, 3D drawing, fire certificate) must be approved by the Grand Palais safety officer, and a fitted Belleville stand, delivered with structure, sign, lighting and furniture.
  • Use the included visitor badges to invite the architects and project owners in your portfolio: design professionals (maîtrise d'œuvre) represent 41% of 2026 participants according to the 2027 brochure.
  • For a product innovation, aim for the Tribune des Innovations at the next call for applications, the deadline for the 2027 call having been set at 30 September 2026.
  • Book lunches and the gala dinner through the ticket office; they are not included in the passes.

For decision-making visitors

  • Choose the pass according to your goal: the visitor pass gives access to the trade show and exhibitions, while the congress pass adds the conferences and their replay.
  • Allow time for the Gallery on the mezzanine, which is separate from the exhibition in the nave.
  • To follow a day of conferences without travelling, the remote pass gives access to the live broadcast.

CSR policy & initiatives

The Forum presents itself as fully eco-designed. Its 2024 press release details the approach: an eco-design study supported by ADEME to measure the event's emissions and set a roadmap to 2030, low-emission catering, priority given to public transport and rail, and a scenography built with Belleville stands in French timber and reused equipment.

The Forum offsets part of its emissions by planting trees on plots to be reforested, carried out with Plantons pour l'avenir and then with the ONF in the municipal forest of Épinal. The 2027 brochure reports 10,000 trees planted on the Forum's plots.

The 2026 edition's eco-design flyer quantifies the effect of the approach since 2021, compared with editions before 2021: 49% of carbon emissions avoided across the whole event, 92% on the scenography and 66% on catering. It states that the trees are planted on five plots and that €50,000 has been invested in replanting species adapted to climate change.

No ISO 20121 certification of the event is mentioned on the official website, and no carbon footprint in absolute terms is published.

Trajectory analysis

The Forum has gone from a touring congress to a large-scale event. Its recent editions were held in Lorraine, between Épinal and Nancy in 2022 and 2024, and at Lille Grand Palais in 2023, where it drew a little over 5,600 participants. Moving to the Grand Palais in 2025 changed its scale: 15,830 admissions that year, then 17,987 in 2026, an increase of 13.6% according to the organiser. The two counts are not strictly comparable, participants in 2023 and admissions since 2025.

The exhibition has followed: 250 exhibitors in 2023 as in 2025, 326 in the nave in 2026, to which is added the Gallery, which grew from 93 to 124 practices in a year. The scope has widened: the 15th edition presents itself as the first to bring together all the timber, bio-based and geo-sourced and reuse industries, and opens up to urban planning issues with the Association Française du Développement Urbain.

2027 marks a new stage with two editions: Paris in February, then a return to Lorraine in October. For an exhibitor, that means two separate packs, one for Paris and one for Nancy.
