Key points
- Forum LABO Paris is the trade show for the laboratory industry, dedicated to research, production and testing: suppliers of scientific instrumentation, equipment, consumables, reagents and services meet public and industrial laboratories there.
- Next edition: Tuesday 23 to Thursday 25 March 2027, at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, Hall 4. Open 9:00 am to 6:00 pm on all three days.
- Organiser: the CIFL (Comité Interprofessionnel des Fournisseurs du Laboratoire), owner of the trade show. The official website is published by SAS Oxygène Expo.
- Rhythm: Forum LABO alternates between Paris and Lyon. The Paris edition returns every two years, in odd-numbered years; Lyon hosts the even-numbered years.
- Results of the latest Paris edition, in March 2025: more than 13,000 visitors, more than 300 exhibitors and 1,160 business meetings held on site.
- Free entry for visitors, with online registration: the badge is sent a few weeks before opening.
Who exhibits
Typical profile
The offer is organised into five areas: scientific instrumentation; laboratory equipment and technologies; consumables and supplies; chemicals and reagents; services, software and digital solutions.
Exhibitors are manufacturers and distributors that equip research, analysis and testing laboratories: chromatography and spectrometry, fume hoods and safety cabinets, laboratory gases, glassware, laboratory management software. The CIFL, which runs the trade show, is the professional body for these suppliers, which explains the density of the offer: it is the profession's own meeting point rather than a general healthcare trade show.
Notable exhibitors
The 2027 exhibitor list is already online and includes more than 200 companies as of 10 October 2026, most with their stand number. It notably features Thermo Fisher Scientific, Agilent Technologies, Merck, Sartorius, Eppendorf, Shimadzu, Waters, Bruker, Mettler Toledo, Bio-Rad Laboratories, bioMérieux, Air Liquide and Zeiss, alongside many other laboratory manufacturers and suppliers.
Visitor quality
The trade show is aimed at companies, researchers, students, technicians and professionals in the pharmaceutical, chemical, food, cosmetics and biotechnology industries, as well as academic research and higher education.
The organiser displays a split of 59% of visitors from the private sector (industry, pharma, biotech, suppliers) and 41% from the public sector (academic laboratories, research, education), without specifying the reference edition. The main stated reason for visiting is to discover innovations (75%), ahead of meeting suppliers (56%). For an exhibitor, this public-private mix is the characteristic to take into account.
Attendance in 2025 rose sharply: more than 13,000 visitors, against 5,818 at the 2023 Paris edition. The 2025 press release mentions neither a certification nor a counting method.
Events & community
Conference programme
The 2027 programme is being published on the Programme page. It is organised around two rooms, the Agora and the Salle Marie Curie. The first day would open on 23 March with an inaugural conference from 10:00 am to 11:30 am, followed by the presentation of the Innovation Trophies.
The first sessions listed cover very diverse topics: forensic science in the service of justice, security and defence; space and space biology with the ESA; water analysis and emerging contaminants with Eau de Paris; biomimicry with CEEBIOS; microbiology, antimicrobial resistance and the One Health approach with the SFM. Talks by France Chimie with AFNOR, Institut Curie, the CNRS, Polepharma, France Biovalley and the IRCGN also appear in the provisional programme, without a detailed title at this stage.
For reference, the 2025 Paris edition offered more than 50 conferences, round tables and workshops, covering artificial intelligence, robotics and environmental challenges.
Lab'Meetings and Innovation Trophies
Lab'Meetings is the trade show's business meeting platform: visitors and exhibitors schedule qualified meetings in advance. In 2025, 1,160 meetings were held on site, up 49.5%.
Innovation Trophies were awarded in 2023 and in 2026 (Lyon edition), and a presentation is scheduled in the 2027 programme, on 23 March from 11:30 am to 12:00 pm in the Agora. In 2023, the jury selected six winners, including Greiner Bio-One, Mettler Toledo and New England Biolabs, and a special mention; the Innovation Trophies and the French Start-up Prize together drew 70 entries.
Community & networks
The trade show is run by the CIFL, and its 2027 programme features learned societies, research organisations and players from the industry. A bookshop area is also planned: the programme announces a book signing by Sandrine Mirza, on the theme of the history of women in science.
On the press side, the media partners listed for 2027 include La Gazette du Laboratoire, Laboratoire.com, Separation Sciences, Contrôles Essais Mesures and Industries Cosmétiques.
On the same dates and in the same exhibition centre, ContaminExpo takes place in Hall 5.1, devoted to contamination control and cleanrooms. These are two separate trade shows with different organisers: the figures on this page concern Forum LABO Paris only.
On site: what to know
The trade show occupies Hall 4 of Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. It is open on 23, 24 and 25 March 2027, from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.
By public transport: metro line 12, Porte de Versailles station; trams T2 and T3a, Porte de Versailles, Parc des Expositions stop; bus 80, same stop, or bus 39, Desnouettes stop. From Montparnasse station or Saint-Lazare station, line 12 runs directly to the exhibition centre. From Gare de Lyon, take line 14 to Madeleine then line 12; from Gare du Nord or Gare de l'Est, take line 4 to Montparnasse-Bienvenüe then line 12.
From Charles de Gaulle airport, the RER B to Cité Universitaire then the T3a tram lead to the exhibition centre. From Orly, reach the RER B via Orlyval or the Orlybus, then take the same connection.
Entry is free for visitors, with online registration. The organiser has chosen Revolugo as its official accommodation partner, with a platform of hotels near the exhibition centre.
How much does it cost to exhibit
| Poste de dépense | Fourchette basse | Fourchette haute |
|---|---|---|
| Equipped stand of 9 to 18 m² (floor area, partitions, fascia, basic electricity) | €4,000 | €12,000 |
| Additional fittings: furniture, lighting, power supply for instruments | €1,500 | €6,000 |
| Transport and handling of demonstration instruments | €1,000 | €5,000 |
| Staff on site, accommodation and meals (3 days) | €2,000 | €6,000 |
| Communication, client invitations and materials | €500 | €3,000 |
| INDICATIVE TOTAL (3 days) | ~€9,000 | ~€32,000 |
For an instrumentation supplier, the item that moves the budget is often the demonstration: transport of sensitive instruments, power supply and sometimes gas or fluids on the stand. Exact prices should be requested from the sales team via the Book a stand page.
Planning your visit
For exhibitors
- Do not wait to book: the 2027 exhibitor list already exceeds 200 companies more than five months before opening.
- Ask the organiser about the terms of participation in Lab'Meetings to schedule meetings in advance: the site presents the platform without detailing the exhibitor procedure.
- Ask the organiser about the application process for the Innovation Trophies: no call for entries was published on the website as of 10 October 2026. The presentation appears in the provisional programme for 23 March.
- Tailor the pitch to both audiences, private (industry, pharma, biotech, suppliers) and public (academic laboratories, research, education).
- Make the most of ContaminExpo, on the same dates in Hall 5.1, if your offer also touches on controlled environments.
For the decision-making visitor
- Register online in advance: entry is free and the badge arrives a few weeks before the trade show.
- Prepare a list of exhibitors from the dedicated page, which already shows stand numbers.
- Book meetings through Lab'Meetings rather than relying on foot traffic at the stands.
- Follow the Programme page, still being published, to plan conferences in the Agora and the Salle Marie Curie.
CSR policy & initiatives
The trade show publishes an Our commitments page describing an approach presented as progressive. It covers the sobriety of the organisation (fewer printouts, digital materials, optimised signage, reusable fixtures, limiting single-use items), waste, with sorting facilities on site, and mobility, inviting participants to favour public transport, rail, car sharing and soft mobility.
Exhibitors are encouraged to design more sober stands, to favour reuse, furniture rental and recyclable materials, and to limit non-essential promotional items. The page also covers accessibility, with a welcome for people with disabilities. No quantified target, carbon footprint or ISO 20121 certification specific to the event is published.
The venue provides a better-documented framework: Viparis, operator of Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, states that it has held ISO 20121 certification across all its sites since 2014 and runs a strategy called Better Events.

Trajectory analysis
Between the last two Paris editions, announced attendance more than doubled, from 5,818 visitors in 2023 to more than 13,000 in 2025, while the number of exhibitors stayed in the same range, around 300. The 2025 press release speaks of a record without detailing the counting method: the increase is clear, but its exact scale should be read with caution.
The Lyon editions give the other half of the trajectory, on a different scale: 3,302 participants and 260 exhibitors in 2024 (RX France press release of April 2024), then more than 3,750 visitors and 260 exhibitors at the Lyon Convention Centre on 10 and 11 March 2026. Paris draws the largest audience, while Lyon relies on a strong regional base: 78% of 2026 visitors came from Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.
The organisational set-up has evolved. In 2024, the CIFL organised Forum LABO Lyon in collaboration with RX France, which also circulated the 2023 Paris results; the 2026 press release names Be Agency as the organising agency, and the official website is published by Oxygène Expo.
No date had been announced as of 10 October 2026 for the next Paris edition.
All data that does not state its source comes from the organiser's website.
Unless otherwise stated, all factual data in this listing comes from the organiser's official website (forumlabo.com).
