Who exhibits
Typical profile
Global Industrie is positioned as the largest industrial gathering in France and one of the most significant in Europe across the machine tool / subcontracting / robotics / smart industries scope. The exhibitor base is dominated by SMEs and mid-cap companies (85% in 2025): manufacturers in mechanical engineering, subcontracting, metal processing, robotics, automation, industrial digital, energy and defence. Strong presence of international pavilions (91 countries expected in 2027).
Notable exhibitors
Official list on the exhibitors page of the Global Industrie website. The trade show aggregates the historical communities of its four founding events: Symop (production machines and technologies), FIM (Fédération des Industries Mécaniques), Artema (mechatronics), UITS (surface technologies), Gimelec (electrical equipment), Cetim. International country pavilions structured around the 91 nations announced for 2027.
Quality of the visitor base
The 2025 Lyon edition recorded 45,000 visitors (+20% vs the 2023 Lyon edition). 85% of exhibitors were SMEs / mid-cap companies. The 2026 Paris edition reported 2,500 announced exhibitors and a target of 60,000 professionals. The audience is made up of industry players (principals, subcontractors), production, purchasing, R&D, methods and maintenance managers, as well as international delegations and 8,000 young people and jobseekers through the GI Avenir programme.

What's new for 2027
A return to Lyon after the 2026 Paris edition. Announced target: 60,000 industry professionals and 91 countries represented. The "50 industrial sectors" programme is highlighted in the pre-event communication. An announced strengthening of the industrial AI and defence strands, continuing the themes carried by the 2026 edition.
On site: what you need to know
Access, parking, accommodation and shuttles: see the venue listing for Eurexpo Lyon.
Specific to the trade show:
- Eurexpo halls: 6 halls used during the 2025 Lyon edition across around 100,000 m². 2027 configuration to be confirmed by the official floor plan published on global-industrie.com before opening.

Preparing your visit
For the exhibitor
- 12 months out: make contact with GL Events Exhibitions, choose the hall and scope (machine tools, subcontracting, robotics, smart industries, processing, defence).
- 9 months out: apply for the GI Awards (Transformation technologique, Industrie responsable, Innovation numérique, Performance et efficience industrielle, Startup Jeune Pousse) and confirm your package.
- 6 months out: stand brief, integration into the federation pavilions (Symop, FIM, etc.) if relevant.
- 3 months out: team accreditations, accommodation in Lyon Est (strong hotel pressure around Eurexpo in March).
- 6 weeks out: activate the MyGI app, schedule meetings, finalise demo materials (the machines and robots in operation are a strong hallmark of the trade show).
For the decision-making visitor
- Free professional badge on prior registration.
- Allow at least 2 of the 4 days to cover the 6 halls and more than 50 sectors.
- Identify the 10 to 20 exhibitors to target in advance via the official list and the MyGI app.
- The Grande Scène programme (800+ speaking slots) forces a trade-off: select the key sessions in advance.
Policy & CSR initiatives
Global Industrie communicates on the CSR front through two main strands: the Industrie responsable award category (rewarding industrial solutions with reduced impact) and the GI Avenir programme dedicated to training and the appeal of industrial careers (8,000 young people and jobseekers hosted at the trade show).
The official website does not publish a dedicated "CSR commitments" page for the event itself at the time of writing. One to watch: the possible publication of an eco-event charter by GL Events Exhibitions ahead of the 2027 Lyon edition.

Trajectory analysis
Global Industrie is the direct heir of Midest (1962, industrial subcontracting), Industrie (machine tools), Smart Industries (industrial digital) and Tolexpo (sheet metal processing), brought together in 2018 under the joint impetus of the sector and Emmanuel Macron, then Minister of the Economy in 2015. The first merged edition was held at Paris Nord Villepinte from 27 to 30 March 2018, inaugurated by the President of the Republic.
The event has remained firmly anchored under the GL Events Exhibitions banner. The historical distinction between the organisers of the original trade shows (Reed Expositions / RX France for Midest, GL Events for Industrie/Smart Industries) was settled at the time of the merger in favour of GL Events.
The Paris-Lyon alternation is now established: odd-year editions in Lyon (Eurexpo), even-year editions in Paris (Villepinte). The post-COVID trajectory is solid: 34,000 visitors in 2024 in Paris, 45,000 in Lyon in 2025 (+20%), 60,000 announced in Paris in 2026. The 2027 Lyon edition aims to confirm the plateau and strengthen the international strand (91 target countries vs 86 in 2024).
Unless otherwise stated, all factual data in this listing comes from the organiser's official website (global-industrie.com).
