Key facts
- Hopipharm is the French-speaking hospital pharmacy congress organised by Synprefh. Over three days, it brings together hospital pharmacists and their industry partners around scientific, technical and professional themes. It is a congress before it is a trade show: sessions, DPC training and a union assembly on one side, an exhibition area for industry suppliers on the other.
- Next edition: Wednesday 19 to Friday 21 May 2027 in Lyon, at the Cité Centre des Congrès, in the Centre de Congrès de Lyon. These dates are published by Synprefh on its own website: at the time of writing, the congress website still shows the Montpellier 2026 edition.
- Organiser: Synprefh, the national union of hospital pharmacists (Syndicat national des pharmaciens des établissements de santé), which sells the stands itself. No third-party event operator is listed.
- Annual frequency, with a different city from one edition to the next, from Montpellier in 2026 to Nantes in 2025 and Strasbourg in 2023. No edition in 2020.
- Order of magnitude displayed by the organiser around the 2026 edition: more than 1,700 participants announced, and more than 110 exhibiting companies (the floor plan names 118).
Who exhibits
Typical profile
Synprefh invites suppliers from the fields of hospital pharmacy: medicines, sterile medical devices, software publishers, databases, robotics and automation, advanced digital technology (AI, data), and pharmacy logistics and fit-out.
Taking part is not limited to a stand. The organiser also offers an interactive workshop during the breaks, a pre-opening symposium, an insertion in the brochure given to congress attendees, and partnerships to be discussed with the organising team.
Notable exhibitors
The Lyon 2027 list has not been published. The online floor plan is still the Montpellier 2026 one, and names 118 organisations. It includes the major pharmaceutical companies (Pfizer, Sanofi Winthrop Industrie, Roche, Novartis, AstraZeneca, MSD France, Fresenius Kabi), medical devices (B.Braun Medical, BD France, Baxter SAS), pharmacy automation (Omnicell SAS, Swisslog Healthcare AG - France, Deenova, Bucci Industries France), software publishers and databases (Vidal, Computer Engineering, Cegedim Hospitalis) and distribution (Movianto, Phoenix OCP).
The plan also hosts public buyers and institutions of the sector: UNIHA, Resah and ANAP had a space there in 2026. For a hospital supplier, this is a useful indicator: pooled buyers and hospital pharmacists share the same exhibition area.
Visitor quality
The audience is that of a professional congress: hospital pharmacists, assistants and attachés, hospital pharmacy residents and students, and pharmacy preparers and technicians. Registration is named, online, and covers all three days: there is no single-day registration.
The French-speaking dimension shows in the make-up of the Lyon 2027 scientific council, chaired by Pascal Bonnabry (HU Genève) with Remy Collomp (CHU Nice) as vice-chair: it brings together members from Belgium, Switzerland, Canada, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Mali, Guinea and Madagascar.
The congress is part of pharmacists' continuing education. Synprefh is a registered training organisation, which allows registration fees to be covered by ANFH, and the action “Congrès Hopipharm 2026” was accredited under the CNP Pharmacie DPC pathway. No third-party audit of attendance is published.
Activities & community
Conference programme
The Lyon 2027 programme has not been published. In 2026, the congress combined scientific and professional sessions, DPC training sessions run by Synprefh, pre-opening symposiums and interactive workshops led by exhibitors, with a “Ma Thèse en 180 secondes” session devoted to residents, junior doctors and young pharmacists who had recently defended their thesis.
The call for papers is the other driver of the programme: in 2026, abstracts could be submitted from mid-December 2025 to 9 February 2026. Recorded talks and papers are then put online on the Synprefh website.
Symposiums, workshops and awards
Symposiums are held the day before the opening, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm in 2026, and are open without registering for the congress. Their theme is free but must be approved by the Synprefh board. The interactive workshops last 20 minutes at the start of the morning, lunch and afternoon breaks, on an equipped platform close to the exhibition.
The congress rewards its best papers. In 2026, the awards carried the following French titles: “Prix communication orale Pharmacie clinique”, “Prix communication orale Circuit des produits de santé et pharmacoéconomie”, “Prix communication orale Qualité, gestion des risques et management”, “Prix communication orale Technologies pharmaceutiques” and “Prix Ma thèse en 180''”.
Community & networking
Hopipharm is also the profession's union gathering: the Synprefh general assembly is held there, reserved for members who are up to date with their subscription. Two buffet dinners, on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, are included for registered attendees.
The Lyon 2027 organising team combines a national Synprefh team and a local team of institutions from the region, including members from HC Lyon.
On site: what to know
The congress will take place at the Centre de Congrès de Lyon, 50 quai Charles de Gaulle, in the heart of the Cité internationale, between the Parc de la Tête d'Or and the Rhône. Bus lines C1 (from Part-Dieu station) and C5 (from Jean Macé metro) serve the Cité internationale, Centre de Congrès stop. From Lyon-Saint Exupéry airport, the Rhônexpress reaches the city centre in under 30 minutes. Three car parks are available in the Cité internationale.
The 2027 opening hours have not been published. As a guide, the 2026 exhibition opened from 8:00am to 7:00pm on the first two days and from 8:00am to 2:30pm on the last day, and each exhibitor was required to staff their stand for the whole opening time.

In 2026, stands, fit-outs, badges and options were subject to a surcharge after 23 April, with a 50% surcharge displayed for badges. An industry attendee who comes without a stand pays dearly: before the surcharge, registration at the non-exhibiting industry rate was listed at €1,464 incl. VAT, against €592 incl. VAT at the exhibiting industry rate.
Preparing your visit
For exhibitors
- Watch for the opening of bookings: they are made exclusively on the congress website and spaces are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. For Montpellier 2026, a presentation meeting was held on 2 December 2025 and booking opened on 11 December 2025 at 11:00am. The Lyon 2027 calendar has not yet been published.
- Allow for the constraints specific to the sector: the 2026 exhibitor calendar set a deadline for declaring to the ARS at the end of February.
- Think beyond the stand: an interactive workshop or a symposium the day before the opening reaches pharmacists outside the aisle, and the theme of a symposium must be approved by the Synprefh board.
- Read the general terms of sale: in 2026, a cancellation was no longer refunded from 1 April.
- Plan for a stand builder and have the stand plans validated in advance: the space is delivered bare, with no fit-out at all.
For decision-maker visitors
- Register early: in 2026, all registrations were subject to a 50% surcharge after 23 April.
- Choose your DPC training when registering: it is invoiced separately, at €350 incl. VAT for an attendee in 2026.
- For a hospital department, creating a group account means receiving a single invoice for all registered attendees.
- Arrive the day before for the pre-opening symposiums: they are open without registering for the congress.
Sustainability policy & initiatives
The congress publishes a quantified environmental approach. Synprefh carried out the carbon footprint of Hopipharm 2023 in Strasbourg: 334 tonnes of CO2 equivalent, of which 126 for freight, 92 for attendees' travel and 82 for equipment. The data collected in Strasbourg in 2023 illustrate the effect of the train: 80% of attendees had taken the train and emitted 3 tonnes in total, fifteen times less than the 6% who came by plane (46 tonnes).
The resulting action plan covers transport, freight, food and printing. On freight: stands without carpet and, for 2026, equipped stands announced as eco-designed by local providers, and bare-space exhibitors invited to use the stand builder selected by the venue. It covers food (organic, local and seasonal, a stronger vegetarian offer, caterers certified ISO 20121 where possible) and printing, reduced to a minimum. More broadly, Synprefh says it has adopted a corporate social responsibility approach and is preparing a practical guide for the eco-responsible hospital pharmacist.
The 2027 venue brings its own framework: GL events Lyon announced in 2026 the renewal of its ISO 20121 certification for its four Lyon sites, including the Centre de Congrès de Lyon, equipped with an integrated waste facility that sorts 11 waste streams. The sustainability approach specific to the Lyon edition has not yet been published.

Trajectory analysis
Hopipharm is a travelling congress in the strict sense. The Synprefh archives and the congress pages trace a different city almost every year since 2012: Lille, Lyon, La Rochelle, Reims, Clermont-Ferrand, Nancy, Bordeaux, Marseille, Lyon in 2021, Lille in 2022, Strasbourg, Le Havre in 2024, Nantes and Montpellier. Lyon will host the congress in 2027, after 2013 and 2021 according to the online archives, which go back to 2012.
The 2021 Lyon edition serves as a reference point. The congress was coming out of a gap year, had slipped from May to late June, and its capacity had been deliberately capped at 950 participants for 80 exhibitors. Five years later, the organiser displays more than 1,700 participants and more than 110 exhibiting companies. The comparison should remain cautious: the 2021 figure is a health-related cap, the 2026 one an order of magnitude displayed by Synprefh, with no detailed review or audit.
The scope of exhibitors goes beyond medicines. The 2026 call for exhibitors names, alongside pharmaceutical companies and medical devices, robotics, automation and advanced digital technology, and the Montpellier plan bears this out with several pharmacy automation specialists, software publishers and hospital purchasing bodies. For a supplier selling to in-house hospital pharmacies, the appeal lies in this concentration: hospital pharmacists, buyers and the profession's union representation gathered for three days in the same place, at a congress that Synprefh presents as the major event of the hospital pharmacy year.
The dates of the 2028 edition had not been announced at the time of writing.
