Key takeaways
- The Journées de la SFNV are the annual congress of the Société Française Neuro-Vasculaire, the learned society that brings together stroke (AVC) professionals. It is a medical congress, with scientific sessions, industry symposiums and an integrated exhibition, which the SFNV presents as the leading French-speaking gathering of stroke specialists.
- 2026 edition: the 31st, from Wednesday 2 to Friday 4 December 2026, at Lille Grand Palais. The medical programme opens on Wednesday at 10:00 and ends on Friday at 16:15; the allied-health days take place on Thursday and Friday.
- Organiser: the Société Française Neuro-Vasculaire, a non-profit association governed by the French 1901 law. The agency Hopscotch Congrès runs the website, registrations and partnerships.
- Annual frequency. The congress has moved city since 2023: Lille, Saint-Malo, Dijon, then Lille again in 2026.
- Size: the SFNV publishes no audited figures and speaks of several hundred people. The health press reports some 600 doctors, researchers and allied-health professionals in Dijon in 2025.
- For an exhibitor, the 2026 programme provides seven break and lunch slots on the exhibition, five hours in total.
Who exhibits
Typical profile
The exhibition is aimed at players whose business touches on stroke care, from the acute phase to the prevention of recurrence. It is included in the participants' registration fee, and the programme places the breaks and lunches on the exhibition.
The 2026 list shows three families: pharmaceutical companies, medical device manufacturers, and a more mixed group where patient associations, research networks and young companies sit side by side. The symposium topics show what sells here: thrombectomy, implantable cardiac monitors, thrombolysis, telemedicine, secondary prevention, hypertension and lipids.
Notable exhibitors
The website publishes a 2026 partners page ranked by level, not a list of stands: no exhibition floor plan appears there. Gold partner: Boehringer Ingelheim. Silver partner: Lundbeck. Bronze partner: Medtronic France. Other partners: Bayer, Cortrium, Llafia, Novartis, RapidAI, Servier and Spacelabs Healthcare. Associations and start-ups: IAVC, Neuro MAV France, Occlutech and StrokeLink.
The 2026 programme also announces symposiums by Bioproject and Boston Scientific, two names absent from the partners page at the time of writing. The website's home page still shows the 2025 partners banner, which also featured Abbott, Cardio Systèmes, Eisai, France AVC, Ipsen, Lys Therapeutics and SOS Oxygène Headox: these names belong to the Dijon edition.
Visitor quality
The audience is that of an entire care pathway. The fees distinguish between doctors, clinical fellows and researchers, residents, and allied-health professionals. The SFNV says it brings together medical professionals and all the carers involved in the care of these patients; its board combines neurologists, neuroradiologists and neurosurgeons.
To size this market, the learned society cites 130,000 strokes a year in France, 15,000 thrombolyses, 7,000 thrombectomies and 130 neurovascular units in operation. The figure of some 600 participants in Dijon in 2025 comes from the media outlet ON HEALTH, with no published audit, and the make-up of that audience is not detailed.
Events & community
Conference programme
The 2026 programme follows a single medical track, held in the Pasteur auditorium: a symposium is therefore never in competition with another medical session. Wednesday opens with recanalisation treatments and the latest international guidelines. Thursday brings two joint sessions, one with the Société Française d'Hypertension Artérielle and the other with the Société Francophone de Diabétologie, as well as an ophthalmology session and the session of the FYRST group. Friday covers stroke and cancer, secondary prevention in atheroma, intracerebral haemorrhage and therapeutic updates. The website lists 75 speakers.
Industry players have eight symposium slots, of 30 to 60 minutes: Medtronic and Lundbeck on Wednesday; Bioproject, Boehringer Ingelheim, Boston Scientific, Servier and Lundbeck again on Thursday; Bayer on Friday.
The allied-health days run in parallel on Thursday and Friday, mostly in room 4.2 B: free communications, dissertations of the inter-university diploma, two masterclasses, one on the acute phase and one on the return home, and a "Challenge Door to Needle". Hopscotch Congrès also offers them as continuing training certified under Qualiopi. A joint session brings doctors and allied-health professionals together on Thursday on stroke and driving.
Wednesday 2 December also hosts the national day for stroke pathway coordinators (Journée nationale des animateurs de filières AVC), with its own registration, and its report closes the day in the auditorium. On Friday, the "Mot de la SFNV & Remise des prix" session (the SFNV address and prize-giving) comes before the therapeutic updates; the list of winners is not detailed on the website.
Community & networks
The SFNV, created in 1996, relies on a young group, FYRST, and an allied-health group, both present in the programme. It says it works with the association France AVC, notably around World Stroke Day and an annual research grant campaign, and that it translates the guidelines of the European Stroke Organisation. Its president in 2026 is Prof. Charlotte Cordonnier, from Lille.
The society also organises a medical and allied-health session at the Journées de Neurologie de Langue Française.
On site: what you need to know
The 2026 congress takes place at Lille Grand Palais, 1 boulevard des Cités Unies. The venue says it is a five-minute walk from the two central railway stations: Lille Flandres, served by direct TER and TGV trains from Paris and Roissy airport, and Lille Europe, served by Eurostar to London, Brussels and Amsterdam. Paris is 60 minutes away by TGV according to the venue.
By metro, line 2 serves the Mairie de Lille and Lille Grand Palais stations, 400 metres away; bus 18 stops at the Grand Palais stop. A V'Lille bike station is located in front of the building. By car, from the A1, A23 or A27, take exit 2 then lane 2A; from the A25, exit 1 then lane 2A. The building offers a dedicated reception for people with reduced mobility or disabilities, by prior booking.
The first appointment of the medical programme is set for 10:00 on Wednesday, and the last one ends at 17:45 on Wednesday and Thursday and at 16:15 on Friday. The venue's calendar also lists Autonomic Lille Europe on 2 and 3 December, in Hall Paris: a separate trade show, worth bearing in mind when booking a hotel. For accommodation, the congress offers the Hopscotch Housing booking service from its practical information page.
How much it costs to exhibit
| Poste de dépense | Fourchette basse | Fourchette haute |
|---|---|---|
| Stand space in the exhibition, depending on surface and partnership level (on quotation) | €2,000 | €12,000 |
| Stand fit-out, furniture, electricity and signage | €800 | €6,000 |
| Team travel and accommodation in Lille (3 days) | €1,000 | €4,000 |
| Symposium built into the programme (on quotation, optional) | €5,000 | €25,000 |
| INDICATIVE TOTAL, stand only (3 days) | ~€3,800 | ~€22,000 |
| INDICATIVE TOTAL, stand and symposium | ~€8,800 | ~€47,000 |
At this congress, the item that tips the budget is speaking time: as the medical track is single, a symposium reaches the whole medical audience present in the auditorium. Rates to be requested from the congress partnerships contact.
Preparing your visit
For exhibitors
- Go through the partnerships contact given on the practical information page (partenariat@societe-francaise-neurovasculaire.fr): it is the only entry point to the exhibiting terms.
- Plan your presence around the slots of the 2026 programme: Wednesday 12:00-13:00 and 15:30-16:00, Thursday 10:15-10:45, 12:30-13:30 and 15:15-15:45, Friday 09:45-10:15 and 12:15-13:15.
- Allow for the SFNV general assembly, placed during Thursday's lunch: it may draw part of the audience away from the exhibition at that time.
- Target the right days: according to the programme, allied-health professionals have no session of their own on Wednesday. An offer aimed at allied-health carers plays out on Thursday and Friday.
- A medical device company should check the status of the event in the MedTech Europe Conference Vetting System before committing.
- Find out early about the next edition: the congress changes city, and the logistics with it.
For decision-making visitors
- 2026 fees from 1 October, in euros including VAT, for members and non-members: doctor €320 and €485, clinical fellow or researcher €210 and €275, resident €70 and €120, allied-health professional €110 and €160. The fees include the conferences, the exhibition, coffee breaks and lunches.
- Cancellation: a €40 handling fee is withheld until 2 November 2026, with no refund from 3 November.
- Allied-health professionals: registration through continuing training costs €270 including VAT from 1 October 2026, until 19 November, and gives access to the whole congress. The national day for stroke pathway coordinators alone is €70 including VAT.
- Pick out in the programme the symposiums of the suppliers whose solutions you are evaluating: they are grouped in the same auditorium as the scientific sessions.
- The audience is French-speaking, but several sessions on Wednesday and Friday have English titles.
CSR policy & initiatives
The documented commitment sits at the level of the agency. On its CSR page, Hopscotch Congrès states that it has been ISO 20121 certified by Bureau Veritas since June 2024, for three years with annual audits, and that it turns twelve key issues into action plans for each event it organises. The Hopscotch group also describes itself as EcoVadis Silver certified.
As for the venue, Lille Grand Palais displays a management system certified ISO 20121 and ISO 9001, and makes available to organisers schemes for mobility, accessibility and waste sorting. The Métropole Européenne de Lille has held the Destination Innovante Durable label since January 2024.
For its part, the congress website is limited to mobility pointers: its practical page compares the emissions of the train, a car with one occupant and carpooling. These initiatives must be distinguished from a certification specific to the event: no ISO 20121 certification of the Journées themselves and no measurement of their footprint is published.

Trajectory analysis
The clearest change is geographical. The 2017 edition, and still that of 2022, were held at the Palais des congrès d'Issy-les-Moulineaux, on the doorstep of Paris. The 2023 announcement, relayed by the Organisation Française des Psychologues spécialisés en Neuropsychologie, presented Lille as the first edition outside Paris since the creation of the Journées, in the name of the role of the regions in stroke care. Saint-Malo then Dijon followed, before this return to Lille. For an exhibitor, this means redoing the logistics at every edition, and the audience may vary with the host region.
The second shift concerns carers. Allied-health training took place over one day in 2022 and 2024; it spans two days in 2025 and 2026. Suppliers whose contacts are allied-health professionals may gain exchange time from it.
The calendar is also slipping: the SFNV describes days held in the autumn, at the end of November on one of its pages, whereas the 2026 edition starts on 2 December. The 21 logos of 2025 and the 14 partners listed in October 2026 cannot be compared: the first figure is a post-congress banner, the second a preparation page. No participant or partner figure was found for the other editions, which rules out any attendance curve.
The venue and dates of the 2027 edition had not been announced at the time of writing.
