Agoris analysis · updated November 2026

Key takeaways

  • The Journées Pratiques Respiration Sommeil (JPRS) are a medical congress devoted to sleep medicine and sleep-related breathing disorders, combined with a partner area. In 2027 the organiser expects industry players, home healthcare providers, laboratories and start-ups to attend.
  • Next edition: the 15th, from Thursday 25 to Saturday 27 March 2027, at the Palais des Congrès de Bordeaux, on the theme "Innovation, comorbidities and sleep". The partner area opens on Thursday from midday.
  • Tighter format in 2027: the core of the congress takes place on Thursday and Friday, with Saturday morning set aside for a separate session, by registration.
  • Organiser: the Association O.S.P.L "Observatoire Sommeil en Pneumologie Libérale", based in Bordeaux and chaired by Dr Marc Sapène, a pneumologist. The 2027 edition is held under the aegis of the Fédération Française de Pneumologie.
  • Annual frequency, and a different venue between the last two editions: the 2026 edition took place from 26 to 28 March at the Palais du Pharo in Marseille.
  • Results of the 2026 edition published by the organiser: 1,040 congress participants, 430 participants in the Scientific Day and training sessions, 54 partners, 1,800 m² of exhibition space and 79 speakers.

Who exhibits

Typical profile

The organiser says it wants to bring together in 2027 "doctors, paramedical professionals, industry players, home healthcare providers, laboratories, start-ups, associations and institutions". The 2027 programme topics outline the product families involved: continuous positive airway pressure, mandibular advancement devices, hypoglossal nerve neurostimulation, polysomnography and artificial intelligence applied to sleep.

The 2027 partner area plan provides for equipped stands of 6 m² and 9 m², bare spaces of 9 m², bare VIP stands of 9 and 12 m², and a category of start-up stands.

Notable exhibitors

No 2027 exhibitor list is published on the official website. The 2027 draft programme on the JPRS 2027 page does, however, carry three company names on slots marked "AP": "AP – RESMED", "AP – DOM AIR" and "AP – ALIZE SANTE". The abbreviation is not defined on the page; it most likely stands for the partner workshops sold in the partnership pack, and the content of these slots is still being drawn up. Stand bookings are made through a partner account to be created on the same page.

Visitor quality

The congress is aimed at healthcare professionals: registration distinguishes doctors, orthodontists and dentists, medical and paramedical staff, and students or interns. The congress is multidisciplinary by design: the workshop titles in the draft programme cover ophthalmology, dermatology, psychiatry, bariatric surgery and paediatric dentistry, among others, alongside sleep medicine.

For an exhibitor, this means an audience of prescribers and practitioners who follow patients with sleep apnoea every day. The figures available come from the organiser, with no published third-party audit.

Programme & community

Conference programme

The event opens on Thursday 25 March 2027 with the Scientific Day, from 8:30am to 5:30pm. The draft programme notably announces the year's developments in sleep-related breathing disorders, the place of GLP-1 analogues in the treatment of obstructive sleep apnoea-hypopnoea syndrome (OSAHS), hypoglossal nerve neurostimulation, respiratory comorbidities and the contribution of artificial intelligence to sleep medicine.

The congress starts on Thursday at midday and continues on Friday: one-hour workshops, symposiums, partner workshops and a round table on the environment and climate challenges. The organiser states that the number of workshops is up on previous years.

In parallel, DPC (continuing professional development) training sessions and masterclasses are offered on Thursday, including a masterclass on airways and sleep, built with Chantons 1-2-3, and another devoted to the HSD/SEDH centre of excellence in Bordeaux. Part of the programme is streamed live and available as a replay on the AERE platform.

Community & networks

Beyond the congress, the JPRS run thematic working groups (OSAHS and diet, children, pregnancy, obesity, older people) and publish news articles on their website. The organiser reports a community of 12,000 followers across all networks, on Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram.

The partnership pack calendar announces a buffet-style cocktail reception in the exhibition area on Thursday evening; its programme is still being drawn up.

On site: what you need to know

The Palais des Congrès de Bordeaux is located on avenue Jean-Gabriel Domergue, in the Bordeaux Lac business district. It is operated by Beam (Bordeaux Events and More) and has a 1,277-seat auditorium, 10 committee rooms and 3,000 m² of modular space.

Access: tram line C, Palais des Congrès stop, and bus 32. Allow about 30 minutes by tram from the station and 60 minutes from the airport. The site has free car parks and there are hotels around the lake.

Announced hours: Scientific Day on Thursday 25 March from 8:30am to 5:30pm; congress and partner area on Thursday from 12pm and on Friday 26 March from 8:30am to 6:15pm; Saturday 27 March in the morning. The official website presents this morning as the JPRS working groups morning, by registration, whereas the partnership pack refers to a patients' morning. The draft programme states that the exhibition area closes at 6pm on Thursday to set up the cocktail reception.

Registration is online, in person or remotely, on the JPRS 2027 page. The four free exhibitor badges give access to the exhibition area only: attending the scientific sessions and workshops requires a congress delegate badge.

How much it costs to exhibit

The organiser publishes its 2027 price list in the partnership pack. All prices are excluding VAT, per module.

The amounts for stands, workshops and symposiums come from the official 2027 price list published by the OSPL (excluding VAT). Only the last line, team travel and accommodation, is an indicative order of magnitude that does not come from the organiser.

Preparing your visit

For exhibitors

  • Book early: booking is done online through a partner account, and the choice of location is only guaranteed once the deposit has been received.
  • Choose between a stand alone and a speaking slot: a partner workshop or a symposium places the brand in the scientific programme, where delegates spend most of their time.
  • Plan congress delegate badges for colleagues who need to follow the sessions: exhibitor badges only give access to the exhibition area.
  • Concentrate meetings on Thursday afternoon and Friday, when the partner area is open and the breaks are held there.

For decision-making visitors

  • Register in advance and choose the right track: Scientific Day, congress, DPC training or masterclass, in person or remotely.
  • Make the most of the scheduled breaks in the exhibition area to meet home healthcare providers and manufacturers.
  • Watch the replays on AERE for sessions you missed.

CSR policy & initiatives

The JPRS website does not publish a formal CSR policy, a carbon footprint or an ISO 20121 certification specific to the event, and the OSPL, an association, does not publish a group programme. The 2027 round table on the environment and climate challenges is scientific content, not an organisational commitment. Live streaming and replay do, however, make it possible to follow part of the congress without travelling.

The venue does have a documented approach: Beam, operator of the Palais des Congrès, is ISO 20121 certified and states that it recovered 89% of its 866 tonnes of waste in 2024, with a supply presented as 100% green energy.

Trajectory analysis

The JPRS present themselves as a practitioners' congress: the organiser is the Observatoire Sommeil en Pneumologie Libérale, and the partnership pack editorial describes a congress that is "practical, multidisciplinary, scientific and rooted in the reality of the field"; the programme emphasises day-to-day practice, care pathways and coordination between specialities. The congress moves from Marseille in 2026 to Bordeaux in 2027; other edition venues are not documented here.

The 2027 edition tightens the format to two days while increasing the number of workshops, which concentrates attendance in the partner area into a shorter time. Continuous positive airway pressure, the mandibular advancement device and obesity with GLP-1 analogues feature explicitly in the 2027 programme, and the partnership pack editorial gives obesity a particular place.

The dates of the 2028 edition had not been announced at the time of writing.
