Agoris analysis · updated November 2026

Key takeaways

  • Préventica Montpellier is the regional edition of September 2027 of Préventica, the congress and trade show for health, safety and quality of working life. The organiser presents it as "L'événement national de l'innovation en santé, sécurité et qualité de vie au travail" (the national event for innovation in occupational health, safety and quality of working life).
  • Next edition: Tuesday 28 to Thursday 30 September 2027, at the Parc des Expositions de Montpellier, route de la Foire in Pérols. Open from 9:00am to 6:00pm on Tuesday and Wednesday, and from 9:00am to 5:00pm on Thursday.
  • Targets announced by the organiser for this edition: 400 exhibitors, 150 conferences, 500 experts and 10,000 participants expected. These are announced figures, not a results report.
  • Free visitor access, with a badge to be requested online before the visit. The conferences and workshops are also free to attend.
  • Organiser: Communica, a limited liability company (SARL) based in Lormont (Gironde), which runs the Préventica brand. No co-organiser.
  • Frequency: no established rhythm in Montpellier. The Préventica series holds two editions a year in France, in cities that change from one year to the next.
  • In 2027, Préventica holds two events in France: Préventica Paris from 1 to 3 June, then Montpellier at the end of September. The series also visited Lyon in October 2026 (Préventica Lyon).

Who exhibits

Typical profile

The offer is organised into eight exhibition zones: workspace design; hygiene and cleanliness; road safety and eco-mobility; site safety and first aid; HR management and QWL; consulting and training; production and construction site safety; personal protective equipment.

Two families of exhibitors coexist. On one side, manufacturers and distributors of equipment: PPE, work shoes and clothing, fall protection, signage, chemical storage, ergonomic furniture. On the other, service and software providers: training, prevention consulting, QHSE and HR software, lone-worker devices, occupational health.

Notable exhibitors

The list of exhibitors for Préventica Montpellier 2027 is already online with stand numbers. On 29 October 2026 it counted 71 companies, a fraction of the announced target, eleven months before opening.

In personal protective equipment, the list includes Blaklader Workwear, Catu, Cepovett Safety, Diadora Utility, DuPont, Dunlop, Haix Group, Jallatte, JSP Safety, Kask, Moldex, Portwest, U Power and Uvex Heckel. In production and construction site safety: Asecos, Denios, Brady, C.A.M.P. Work and Milwaukee. The distributor Lyreco-Intersafe and Rubix France also appear on the list. Services are represented by, among others, Acciline+, Balencio, Effi'Sciences, Beepiz, Neovigie and Réseau IPRP France.

Visitor quality

The trade show targets the roles that decide or prescribe in prevention. The organiser lists general management and elected officials, production and logistics managers, prevention officers, HSE staff and occupational physicians, HR directors and training managers, safety, security and fire managers, construction site managers, healthcare managers and nurses, and purchasing and general services managers.

The presence of elected officials and healthcare managers on this list is not incidental: Préventica addresses public employers, local authorities and healthcare establishments as much as private companies. No independent audit of attendance is published for the series.

Programme & community

Conference programme

The congress is the second pillar of the event: the organiser announces more than 150 conferences and workshops free to attend. On 29 October 2026, the Montpellier programme was "en cours de construction" (under construction).

The main issues listed for 2027 set the tone: mental health, prevention of musculoskeletal disorders and arduous work, social dialogue, healthcare workers' health, digitalisation of prevention, the impact of climate change, the transformation of occupational medicine, engaging very small and small businesses, prevention of serious accidents, prevention in the civil service, women's health at work, AI and neuroscience.

Prizes and highlights

The 2026 editions in Rennes and Lyon included prize ceremonies, rewarding innovation and management. Nothing has yet been published on this for Montpellier 2027.

Community & networks

Préventica is held under the patronage of the Ministry of Labour, Health and Solidarity, and the Ministry of Public Action, the Civil Service and Simplification.

The event also relies on an online platform active all year round, with a magazine, webinars, a directory and podcasts, which the organiser says is used by 100,000 users.

On site: what you need to know

The trade show is held at the Parc des Expositions de Montpellier, route de la Foire, in the commune of Pérols, south of the metropolitan area. The site is served by tram line 3, Parc Expo stop.

Opening hours are 9:00am to 6:00pm on Tuesday 28 and Wednesday 29 September, and 9:00am to 5:00pm on Thursday 30. Exhibitors can access the site 30 minutes before opening and up to 30 minutes after closing.

The visitor badge is free but compulsory to enter: it is requested on the visitor registration page, and the organiser recommends printing it before arriving. On site: cloakroom at €2 incl. VAT, free visitor guide, catering, relaxation areas.

How much it costs to exhibit

Communica does not publish a price list online. Participation terms are requested through the form on the 2027 trade shows participation page, which covers Paris and Montpellier.

The organiser's main sales argument is prospecting: it displays "80 contacts utiles en 3 jours" (80 useful contacts in 3 days) on its participation page, without specifying how this figure is calculated.

Preparing your visit

For exhibitors

  • Choose your exhibition zone according to your offer: the split into eight areas shapes visitor flow.
  • Use the Contribute button on the site: the associated form mentions the possibility of becoming a partner or organising a conference. With more than 150 conferences announced, the congress is a visibility lever with prevention professionals.
  • Weigh Paris in June against Montpellier in September: the two 2027 editions are four months apart, with the same split into exhibition zones.
  • Plan your arrival logistics: the site opens to exhibitors 30 minutes before visitors.

For decision-making visitors

  • Request your badge online before the visit: it is compulsory to enter.
  • Check the programme as soon as it goes online to book your conference slots.
  • Test equipment on the stands: PPE, ergonomic furniture and safety equipment are easier to assess in hand than from a catalogue.
  • Come by tram: line 3 stops at Parc Expo.

CSR policy & initiatives

The trade show's content bears directly on social responsibility: health and quality of working life, prevention, CSR and QWL, and the impact of climate change on work are among the main issues for 2027. This programme should nevertheless be distinguished from an organisational commitment.

Neither the Préventica website nor its organiser Communica publishes a formal environmental policy, a carbon footprint report or an ISO 20121 certification for the event.

As for the venue, the Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole tourist office lists the ISO 20121 standard among the quality labels of the Parc des Expositions. Tram access to the site also limits car use for visitors coming from Montpellier.

How the trade show has evolved

Préventica was born in Bordeaux in 1997, in collaboration with the Assurance Maladie, Risques professionnels (the French occupational risk insurance). From 2005, the series expanded to two regional editions a year, close to economic hubs: Bordeaux, Marseille, Strasbourg, Rennes, Nantes, Lyon, Lille. Casablanca was added in 2014, Paris and Senegal in 2017, followed by a webinar offer and an online directory in 2020. Lyon hosted the 50th edition of the series in October 2026.

Montpellier appears in none of the past host cities cited by the organiser, neither in its historical milestones nor in its list of series cities. Toulouse, another Occitanie city, has however already hosted the series, notably in 2023. The organiser does not explicitly present Montpellier 2027 as a first edition in the city.

The model is itinerant: two major events a year in France, in cities that change (Paris and Bordeaux in 2025, Rennes and Lyon in 2026, Paris and Montpellier in 2027). The figures of one edition therefore do not apply to another. Those for Montpellier 2027 are, at this stage, announced targets.
