Key takeaways
- International fine craft and creation biennial: Révélations, the international fine craft and creation biennial, brings together under the nave of the Grand Palais craft artisans, art manufactories, galleries, designers, foundations and schools from around the world, around one-off pieces created specially for the show.
- Organiser: Ateliers d'Art de France, the representative body for fine craft professionals in France (Chambre syndicale des Ateliers d'Art de France, 8 rue Chaptal, Paris 9th). The event is created and run directly by the trade body, without any third-party event operator.
- Next edition: the 8th, from Wednesday 19 to Sunday 23 May 2027, at the Grand Palais, in the nave and on the balconies.
- Country of honour 2027: Ireland, championed by the Design & Crafts Council Ireland (DCCI), following a first participation in Le Banquet in 2025.
- 2025 review (7th edition): 45,136 visitors, 550 creators from 35 countries, 68% first-time exhibitors and more than 500 accredited journalists.
- Mixed audience: 26% professionals and 21% trade influencers in 2025 (interior architects, decorators, gallery owners, art directors, museum directors, luxury buyers), the rest being a paying audience of enthusiasts and collectors.
- Biennial rhythm, odd years since the post-Covid catch-up: 2022, 2023, 2025, then 2027.
Who exhibits
Typical profile
Révélations does not bring together brands but workshops. The show is aimed at fine craft artisans and creators of excellence, designers, art manufactories, galleries, as well as institutions and schools involved in passing on skills and driving innovation in fine craft. The materials covered span the whole sector: ceramics, glass, textiles, wood, metal, lacquer, paper, leather, jewellery, mosaic, marquetry.
Selection is governed by four cumulative criteria published by the organiser: mastery of gestures, techniques and complex know-how in transforming materials; an artistic contribution bearing the mark of the creator and their workshop; a piece made entirely in the creator's own workshop, as a one-off or in small runs; works that are durable by nature. It is this filter that sets Révélations apart from a decoration show or a craft market.
Notable exhibitors
The list of 2027 exhibitors is not yet open: applications run until 27 September 2026, after which selection is decided by the Comité d'Orientation Artistique (Artistic Steering Committee). The exhibitor directory is published on the show's official page.
In 2025, Italy was the country of honour with 22 exhibitors presented by ICE, the Italian Trade Agency, a partner of the edition (Memmo.Venezia, Serafini, Studio Ceramico Giusti, Res Musiva, Gatti Riccardo, Eugenia Pinna, among others). The edition also welcomed 22 former winners of the Prix de la Jeune Création Métiers d'Art.
Quality of the audience
The 2025 edition brought together 45,136 visitors, of whom 26% were professionals and 21% were trade influencers, according to the organiser's review. It is this share of influencers that gives the show its commercial value: antique dealers, collectors, architects, art directors, museum directors, gallery owners, buying offices and figures from the hospitality and luxury sectors come to source pieces and place orders.
Also according to the 2025 review, 55% of exhibitors said they had already met their commercial target by the end of the show, and 96% of visitors described themselves as satisfied or very satisfied, with 95% planning to return in 2027.
Events & community
Le Banquet and the country of honour
The backbone of the show, the international exhibition Le Banquet runs the full length of the nave and brings together selections curated by exhibition commissioners from several continents. In 2025 it covered 12 regions of the world, with Italy at its centre, alongside Québec (nation of honour in 2023) and South Korea, as well as territories new to the biennial: Bangladesh, Brazil, Georgia, Greece, Ireland, Malaysia (Sarawak), the Philippines, an Ibero-America collective and a Polynesia / French Caribbean dialogue for the Outre-Mer.
For 2027, Ireland will be the country of honour, championed by the Design & Crafts Council Ireland. Its chairman Peter Hynes announced in 2025 that a selection of Irish creators would be brought together for the biennial.
Conference programme
The programme extends well beyond the exhibition: conferences, a symposium (the 2025 edition included a symposium devoted to a European strategy for fine craft), film screenings, book signings, guided tours, children's workshops and a Hors les Murs (Off-Site) programme held in Parisian galleries. The 2025 conferences have been republished as a podcast by the organiser.
Awards and accolades
The Prix de la Jeune Création Métiers d'Art (PJCMA) recognises professionals under 35. Winners receive mentoring, media visibility and a presence at international trade shows, including Maison&Objet, the Salon International du Patrimoine Culturel and Révélations. Since 2013, 17 creators have been offered a stand at the biennial under this award.
Recent winners: Yanis Miltgen, art embroiderer and textile creator (2024); Sophie Autard, jeweller (2025), alongside Victor Tison and bootmaker Pierre-Baptiste L'Hospital.
Community & networks
Révélations is backed by Ateliers d'Art de France, a trade body representing thousands of craft workshops across France. The sector it federates comprises 281 recognised fine crafts under the interministerial order of 24 December 2015, around 38,000 businesses and close to 60,000 jobs.
The biennial has an international extension: Revelations China, organised by Global ACE, a partner of Ateliers d'Art de France, following a first edition in Beijing in 2024 and a second announced in Shanghai in November 2026.
On the press side, the 2025 edition welcomed more than 500 accredited journalists. Accreditation is handled through the show's press agency.
On site: what you need to know
For access, parking and accommodation, see the venue page: Grand Palais, 7 avenue Winston Churchill, 75008 Paris (métro lines 1 and 13, Champs-Élysées Clemenceau; lines 1 and 9, Franklin D. Roosevelt; buses 28, 42, 52, 63, 72, 73, 80, 83, 93; Vélib' stations nearby; Indigo Rond-Point des Champs-Élysées car park, 3 avenue Matignon).
Specific to the show: the 2027 edition runs from 19 to 23 May, Wednesday to Sunday. The 2027 opening hours and ticketing have not yet been published. As a guide, the 2025 edition opened from 10am to 6pm on the first and last days and from 10am to 8pm on the three days in between, with an invitation-only preview on the first evening.
The 2025 price list, published by the organiser, also gives an order of magnitude: €24 in advance, €28 full price, €14 reduced rate (ages 12-18, students, jobseekers, people with reduced mobility and their companion, Grand Palais pass holders), free for under-12s. Guided tour at €20, free children's workshops, exhibitor catalogue at €28. A dedicated ticket for trade influencers exists for architects, decorators, gallery owners, art directors, designers, patrons, curators, auctioneers, foundations and professionals from the hospitality and museum sectors.
Allow a full day: with around 3,000 pieces announced and a nave covered from end to end by Le Banquet, the visit does not wrap up in two hours.
How much it costs to exhibit
The organiser explicitly states that 2027 rates are not yet available. Three types of participation are, however, published: individual stand (12 m² minimum), shared stand (4 m² minimum per exhibitor, so a maximum of three exhibitors on a 12 m² stand) and group participation. Payment for the stand can be spread over several monthly instalments. Partnerships with regional authorities also allow creators to be supported by their local authority: it is worth asking your region about this before applying.
| Poste de dépense | Fourchette basse | Fourchette haute |
|---|---|---|
| Individual 12 m² stand (indicative) | €6,000 | €15,000 |
| Fit-out, lighting, plinths and display cases | €2,000 | €8,000 |
| Transport and insurance for works | €1,000 | €5,000 |
| Staff, travel, accommodation (5 days) | €2,500 | €7,000 |
| ESTIMATED TOTAL (indicative, 5 days) | ~€11,500 | ~€35,000 |
Payment for the stand can be spread over monthly instalments. Participation as a shared stand (4 m² minimum per exhibitor) or as part of a group significantly reduces the entry ticket. Actual rates to be confirmed with Ateliers d'Art de France.
Preparing your visit
For the exhibitor
- 2027 applications open until 27 September 2026. The application is submitted online via the exhibitor area of the official website.
- Selection is carried out by the Comité d'Orientation Artistique, a jury of international experts (creators, gallery owners, designers, architects, museum directors, collectors, press) that meets several times a year. Prepare a photographic portfolio equal to the task: selection is the show's real filter, not budget.
- The pieces expected are new and created specially for the show. Catalogue stock does not pass the committee.
- Exhibitor contact: revelations@ateliersdart.com, +33 1 44 01 08 30.
- Plan ahead for regional support: territorial partnerships exist and can ease the cost of participation.
For the decision-making visitor
- Use the trade influencer ticket if you are an architect, decorator, gallery owner, art director, curator or buyer: it is separate from the general admission ticket.
- Target Le Banquet and the country of honour's pavilion first, then work through the nave by material: this is where emerging names are spotted.
- The turnover rate is high (68% first-time exhibitors in 2025): a visit every two years will not show the same line-up twice.
- Guided tours reserved for collectors and professional buyers are a useful shortcut for a first visit.
Policy & CSR initiatives
Révélations does not publish a dedicated "Commitments" or CSR page, and the show does not hold its own ISO 20121 certification. Three levels of commitment are nonetheless documented.
At show level, the only explicitly environmental criterion appears in the Comité d'Orientation Artistique's selection grid, which requires works to be "durable by nature" and made entirely in the creator's own workshop, as one-offs or in small runs. This is a substantive stance against mass production, rather than a formalised CSR policy.
At organiser level, Ateliers d'Art de France runs sector-wide social action (Fonds Solidarité Métiers d'Art, initiatives on the health of craft artisans, studies and advocacy for the sector's legal recognition) but does not publish a carbon footprint or an environmental plan for its shows.
At venue level, however, the arrangements are substantial and documented by GrandPalaisRmn: progressive integration of eco-design into exhibition production (reuse of materials, reuse of display cases and picture rails, modular fittings), 63% of operating waste recovered at the Grand Palais, close to 90% of public procurement contracts incorporating environmental criteria in 2025 under the Schéma de Promotion des Achats Socialement et Écologiquement Responsables (SPASER), a "Très performant" (Very High Performance) Haute Qualité Environnementale label obtained at design stage for the restoration works, signature of the Pacte Paris Action Climat Biodiversité, five beehives installed on the roof as part of the UNAF's "Abeilles, sentinelles de l'environnement" (Bees, Sentinels of the Environment) programme, and "Paris Zéro Plastique à Usage Unique" (Paris Single-Use Plastic Free) certification obtained in January 2026.

Trajectory analysis
Founded in 2013 by Ateliers d'Art de France, Révélations initially followed a biennial rhythm on odd years (2013, 2015, 2017, 2019) before being shifted by the health crisis: the 5th edition was held in June 2022, followed by a 6th as early as June 2023 to return to the odd-year calendar, then the 7th in May 2025. These last four editions were held away from the original nave, at the Grand Palais Éphémère on the Champ-de-Mars while the monument was under restoration.
The return under the restored glass roofs in 2025 produced a clear leap: 550 creators against 350 two years earlier, 45,136 visitors against a stated target of 37,000, a 24% increase on the previous edition and the best level since the show was founded. The biennial also made use of the monument's balconies for the first time, and received a visit from the President of the Republic as well as government ministers overseeing the sector, a sign of strengthening institutional backing.
The bet for 2027 is one of consolidation rather than rupture: the same venue, the same five-day format, a set design announced as evolving but faithful to its principles, and a European country of honour after Italy. For an exhibitor, the point to watch remains selectivity: with 68% first-time exhibitors in 2025, the committee substantially renews the line-up from one edition to the next, which opens the door to emerging workshops but does not guarantee the renewal of a participation.
