Key facts

  • The SFPIO Congress is the national congress of the Société Française de Parodontologie et d'Implantologie Orale, a learned society that states it has some 1,100 members, periodontists and dental surgeons, spread across 16 regional societies. It is a scientific congress with an exhibition, not a commercial trade show in the usual sense.
  • Next edition: Friday 11 and Saturday 12 June 2027, at the Centre de Congrès Pierre Baudis in Toulouse. A day of workshops comes first, on Thursday 10 June.
  • 2027 theme: "Pink Aesthetic in the Pink City", with muco-gingival surgery around teeth on Friday and around implants on Saturday.
  • For an exhibitor, the key fact is the programme: four breaks are scheduled "in the exhibition", three hours in total, two and a half of them on Friday. The website publishes no floor plan, no exhibitor list and no price list: the route in is a partnership form.
  • The site promises partners "unique visibility among more than 600 professionals". This is a sales claim: no attendance report is published.
  • Organiser: the SFPIO, a non-profit association (loi 1901) based in Nantes. No co-organiser is listed. Annual frequency, with a different city each edition. Official website: congres-sfpio.com.

Who exhibits

Typical profile

The site groups exhibitors and partners under a single call: its "Exhibitors" block invites companies to "Become a partner of the congress!". It ranks companies in tiers: Platinium, Gold, Media and Junior. The brands shown fall into three families: implants and biomaterials, such as Straumann, Nobel Biocare or Geistlich; oral hygiene, such as Oral-B, Philips Sonicare or Listerine; and instruments and equipment, such as HuFriedyGroup or EMS.

The programme confirms that industry has a place in the format: Thursday is described as a "pre-congress day and workshops by our industry partners", with details to be announced later.

Notable exhibitors

The site publishes neither an exhibitor list nor a stand plan. It publishes a list of partners, without saying which of them will be present in the exhibition: a partner is therefore not presented here as a confirmed exhibitor. The page carries no year: the Platinium and Gold tiers also appear on the 2027 congress page of sfpio.com, whereas the Media and Junior tiers appear only on the congress website.

  • Platinium: Geistlich, Listerine, Straumann.
  • Gold: Haleon, Oral-B, Philips Sonicare, Tepe, Unilever, Nobel Biocare, Thommen Médical, HuFriedyGroup, Woodpecker.
  • Media: Information Dentaire, French Tooth.
  • Junior: Colgate, Curaprox, Curasept, Gum Sunstar, Hyalugel, Waterpik, Acteon, Biohorizons Camlog, Bredent, EMS, Meisinger, Patent, SDS Dental Solutions, Société des Cendres, Zimvie.

Visitor quality

The audience is that of a learned society: the SFPIO says it brings together both exclusive-practice specialists and general dental surgeons who want to deepen their knowledge of periodontology and implantology. Access for an exhibitor is therefore highly targeted, but remains clinical: the site gives no breakdown by profession, type of practice or purchasing power.

The figure of more than 600 professionals appears on the page aimed at partners, with no year and no method. No third-party audit of attendance is published.

Activities and community

Conference programme

The 2027 programme is published for the two main days. Elena Figuero, professor at the Complutense University of Madrid, is scientific chair, Matthieu Rimbert is congress chair and Marjolaine Gosset is president of the SFPIO.

Friday 11 June, from the opening ceremony at 08:45 to 17:30, covers muco-gingival surgery around teeth: single recessions with France Lambert and Ronan Barré, multiple recessions with Sergio Khan and Ilham Mounssif, adjunctive use of materials with Mariano Sanz and David Palombo, then patients already treated for periodontitis with Caroline Fouque and Laurent Detzen.

Saturday 12 June, from 09:00 to the closing ceremony at 12:30, covers implants: artificial intelligence with Roberto Farina, digital workflow with Guillermo Pradíes, peri-implant plastic surgery with Francesco Cairo. Talks flagged as being in English have simultaneous translation into French.

These themes speak directly to manufacturers of biomaterials, implants and digital tools, but the programme does not tie any brand to a session.

Thursday 10 June workshops

The pre-congress day is billed as hands-on workshops in small groups. Its programme is still "being drawn up": no themes, companies or times are published. These workshops by industry partners are the only commercial activity written on the site, and their access conditions need to be clarified with the organiser.

Side events

The site announces an SFPIO charity evening on Friday, as well as an awards ceremony and a closing ceremony on Saturday. It does not say where the evening is held, nor which prizes are awarded. Oral communications and posters complete the conferences.

Community and networks

The SFPIO relies on 16 regional societies, each of which offers three to four days of conferences a year, and publishes the journal Objectif Paro, among others. The national congress is therefore only one point of contact among several with this community.

Its president, elected for the 2026-2028 term, lists among her priorities strengthening ties with the EFP and the CNEP, as well as with the UFSBD and the ADF, organiser of the Congrès ADF. She also stresses her industrial partners' support for the society's training, work and congresses.

On the press side, Information Dentaire and French Tooth are listed as media partners.

On site: what you need to know

The congress takes place at the Centre de Congrès Pierre Baudis, 11 esplanade Compans Caffarelli, in Toulouse's business district. Its operator, Toulouse Congrès, states 6,000 m² of modular space, 18 rooms including a 500-seat auditorium, a plenary capacity of 1,200 people and 1,000 underground parking spaces.

By metro, the Compans-Caffarelli stop is on line B; buses 14, 45 and 63 and line L1 also serve it. Toulouse-Matabiau station is given as 15 minutes away. Toulouse-Blagnac airport is 8 km away, with a shuttle to Matabiau stated as taking 20 minutes, leaving every 20 minutes. By car, the Compans Caffarelli car park gives direct access to the centre.

The exhibition's opening hours, set-up and dismantling arrangements and allocated floor area are not published. The only written reference points are the programme times above.

What it costs to exhibit

The SFPIO publishes no price list: neither what the partnership tiers include, nor presence in the exhibition, nor prices appear on the pages consulted, and requests go through the Become a partner form. No amount is published.

The question to ask before the price is what you get in return: what each partnership tier actually includes in the exhibition, and whether the Thursday workshop is part of it. Prices must be requested from the SFPIO.

Planning your visit

For exhibitors

  • Request the file via the partnership form, asking for each tier's contents to be spelled out: location, floor area, registrations, access on Thursday.
  • Focus your effort on Friday: the 12:30 to 14:00 lunch is the longest break scheduled in the exhibition. Saturday has only one break, from 10:30 to 11:00, before the closing at 12:30.
  • Prepare a clinical pitch: the audience comes for specific surgery, recessions, peri-implant soft tissue, materials, digital workflow, rather than for a generalist offer.
  • Watch for the publication of the Thursday programme if a small-group demonstration suits your product better than a presence in the exhibition.

For decision-maker visitors

  • Registration has not yet opened, the site announcing it "very soon", and no 2027 fee is published.
  • Read the cancellation terms: a €70 administration fee if the request arrives 60 days before, 50% of the amount between 60 and 15 days, no refund less than 15 days before.
  • Check the language of the sessions you are targeting: several talks are given in English, with simultaneous translation.
  • Book the Thursday only once its programme is published.

CSR policy and initiatives

The congress website has no Commitments or Sustainability section, and the SFPIO website publishes none either. No ISO 20121 certification is displayed for the event itself.

The verifiable commitment is the venue's: Toulouse Congrès announced on 3 December 2025 the renewal of its ISO 20121 certification for the Centre des Congrès Pierre Baudis and the Espaces Vanel, and presents its own CSR approach. It covers the site, not the organisation of the congress.

On the mission side, the SFPIO says it is committed to prevention and to informing patients about periodontal diseases. That is an association's purpose, to be distinguished from an environmental or social policy for the event. The beneficiary of the charity evening is not stated.

Trajectory analysis

No attendance or exhibition curve can be drawn: the SFPIO publishes no figures for any of the editions in its online archives, which go back to 2023.

What the history shows is a touring congress: five cities in five editions, from La Grande Motte to Toulouse. The venue therefore has to be reassessed each time, and an exhibitor cannot carry its logistics over from one year to the next. June is the norm, with one clear exception in 2025: a single day in Paris, in January, built around two speakers.

The Toulouse edition is organised as two days of conferences preceded by a day of workshops. In 2026, the SFPIO had already announced small-group workshops, for a congress dated over three days. No date or city is announced for the 2028 edition on the sites consulted.

All data without a stated source comes from the organiser's website.
