Key takeaways

  • Show Industrie is an event promoting the industrial sector of the Grand Est region, not a conventional trade show: it brings local industrial businesses in front of the general public, young people exploring career paths and people retraining.
  • 2026 edition: Thursday 19 and Friday 20 November 2026, from 9am to 6pm, at the Parc Expo Metz. Free entry and free parking.
  • Commissioning body: France Industrie Grand Est. Organised by Metz Expo Événements, with GL events Parc des Expositions de Metz Métropole (SAS, RCS Metz 493 152 318) as the legal entity. La Semaine is the media partner associated with the launch of the event.
  • Biennial frequency, held in even years: created in November 2022, second edition in November 2024, returning in November 2026.
  • Figures announced for 2026: 100 exhibitors expected, 15,000 visitors expected, 6,500 m² of exhibition space, 12 industrial branches represented. The only actual attendance figure published by the organiser remains that of 2022, with more than 12,000 visitors.
  • Change of slot in 2026: Thursday and Friday, whereas the first two editions were held on Friday and Saturday. Show Industrie now aligns with the careers fair Oriaction, held from 19 to 21 November 2026 at the same venue (source: oriaction.com).

Who exhibits

Typical profile

The exhibition brings together industrial businesses from the Grand Est region showing their expertise and trades. Twelve branches are represented: energy, paper and cardboard, rubber, textiles, glass, crystal, chemicals, plastics processing, metallurgy, pharmaceuticals, food processing and furniture. In 2024, the organiser announced 100 exhibitors, including 80 industrial companies, across 6,500 m², with around a hundred stands dedicated to industrial trades; the 2026 website follows the same format.

The trade show is not run on a supplier-to-buyer marketplace logic. Stands are designed as demonstration showcases: machines in operation, hands-on workshops, and presentations of training pathways and job vacancies. Sector federations and organisations structure a large part of the space, notably OPCO2i and its Avec l'Industrie brand, UIMM Lorraine and UIMM Champagne-Ardenne, the Pôle formation UIMM Lorraine (the UIMM Lorraine training body), Polyvia for plastics processing, Leem for pharmaceuticals, Agria Grand Est for food processing, Ameublement français (the French furniture federation), Chimie Grand Est, Papest, GIMEST, and the glass and crystal federations.

The institutional line-up is broad: Région Grand Est, Eurométropole de Metz, Ville de Metz, Département de la Moselle, CCI de la Moselle, Académie de Nancy-Metz, Université de Lorraine, France Travail, Inspire Metz and France Industrie are among the partners listed for 2026, alongside regional media including Le Républicain Lorrain, La Semaine and Moselle TV.

Notable exhibitors

No exhibitor list is published online for the 2026 edition as of the time of writing. Applications to take part go through a dedicated form on the GL events exhibitor portal.

Quality of the audience

The target audience is explicitly threefold: the general public, young people exploring career paths and people undergoing professional retraining. For the 2024 edition, the organiser announced 1,200 secondary school pupils expected and 11 schools registered, and France Travail ran a job-matching (job dating) area with 24 companies. The only published attendance review concerns the first edition, with more than 12,000 visitors welcomed in 2022.

An exhibitor should therefore calibrate its presence around employer branding, recruitment and regional visibility objectives. The density of purchasing decision-makers is low by design: this is not the place where industrial orders get signed.

Events & community

Programme and highlights

The format rests on four pillars that stay stable from one edition to the next: educational activities around industrial trades, conferences and round tables on the sector's challenges, job-matching (job dating) sessions, and a look at industry through influencers and content creators. The organiser announces guests for 2026 with a combined following of close to 10 million subscribers, though the named list has not been published to date. The 2026 edition puts the focus on industry's contribution to the energy transition.

The 2024 press pack gives a sense of the scale of the activities: a 150 m² Avec l'Industrie pavilion with a VR headset, escape game, engraving workshop and robot, the Magical Industry Tour demonstration truck equipped for maintenance, machining, boilermaking-welding and automation, an Entrez en matière truck dedicated to plastics processing technologies with an extrusion line and injection presses, a MatériauTech area on polymers, the Les chercheurs (ses) font leur SHOW! activity and an improvised science theatre run by the Université de Lorraine, as well as a screening area from the Région Grand Est dedicated to WorldSkills. The 2024 guests were video creators Amixem, Léo-TechMaker and Thomashell, TV host Marius and Olympic medal-winning archer Lisa Barbelin.

Job-matching (job dating)

In 2024, the job-matching sessions were organised by France Travail on a dedicated area, with 24 companies, both in person and remote, complemented by an employment appointment slot and advice on retraining or CV submission. The corresponding page on the website has not yet been updated for 2026: its opening times and number of companies still reflect the previous edition.

Community & networks

The event has its own Facebook page, with the other social networks being those of Metz Événements. Moselle TV has produced a programme dedicated to Show Industrie since January 2024, covering apprenticeships, renewable energy, nuclear power, the place of women in industry and the automotive sector (source: moselle.tv).

The website's press area makes available the press release of 10 June 2024 and the press pack of 14 November 2024, with a press contact identified within the marketing and communications team.

On site: what you need to know

For detailed access, parking and accommodation information, see the venue page: Parc Expo Metz.

Specific to the trade show: open Thursday 19 and Friday 20 November 2026, from 9am to 6pm both days. Free entry. The venue provides free parking for 5,000 vehicles; visitors are asked not to use the paid park-and-ride facility run by the Le Met' network. From Metz city centre, the Mettis B line serves the P+R Foire Expo stop. Road access is via the A31 from Nancy or Luxembourg and the A4 from Paris or Strasbourg, exit Metz Est then follow signs for Parc des Expositions. A taxi rank is set up at the forecourt.

Worth noting when organising a group visit: the careers fair Oriaction occupies hall A of the same venue from 19 to 21 November 2026, with heavy school group traffic on the same days.

How much it costs to exhibit

No public pricing schedule is released for Show Industrie: participation is negotiated via the registration request form on the GL events exhibitor portal. The amounts below are indicative orders of magnitude for a two-day regional event and do not in any way constitute the trade show's official rates.
Poste de dépenseFourchette basseFourchette haute
Fitted stand (indicative, trade showcase format)€2,500€8,000
Fit-out, furniture, signage€1,000€5,000
Demonstrators, machines, on-stand activities€1,000€6,000
Staff, travel, recruitment materials€1,500€5,000
ESTIMATED TOTAL (indicative, 2 days)~€6,000~€24,000

A significant share of the exhibition is carried by collective pavilions run by branch federations and sector organisations (OPCO2i and its Avec l'Industrie brand, UIMM, sector federations). Going through one's federation is often the least costly route to access for an industrial SME: to be confirmed with the organiser and one's federation.

Preparing your visit

For the exhibitor

  • Submit an application via the GL events exhibitor portal form, the only published entry point for the 2026 edition.
  • Build the stand as a demonstration: a machine in operation, a visible trade gesture, a hands-on workshop. The audience is mostly non-expert and young, so a conventional technical pitch does not land.
  • Prepare concrete job, apprenticeship and internship openings, along with staff able to discuss them. The job-matching sessions and the presence of France Travail are what structure the event's value for an industrial business.
  • Get in touch with one's federation or OPCO in advance: the collective pavilions account for a significant share of the floor space.
  • Anticipate school group traffic, increased in 2026 by the co-location with Oriaction on the same days.

For the visitor

  • Free entry and free parking, with no paid ticketing to arrange.
  • Allow half a day: 6,500 m² and around a hundred stands can easily be covered in three to four hours.
  • For a career-orientation or retraining project, target the job-matching area and the training organisations' stands rather than the demonstrations alone.

Policy & CSR initiatives

Show Industrie does not publish a dedicated Commitments or CSR page for the event, and does not claim any certification at its own level. The energy transition is a content theme advertised for 2026, which falls under the programme rather than a verifiable organisational commitment.

The verifiable groundwork sits at the level of the venue and the operator. Metz Expo states that its site is certified ISO 20121, the responsible management standard applied to event activity, and relies on an ISO 14001 certification process covering energy management, waste management with improved sorting and recovery, and water consumption management.

At group level, Metz Événements belongs to GL events Venues, whose CSR policy is organised around three pillars: Planet, with carbon footprint reduction, more responsible catering, the circular economy and water management; People, with staff health and safety, training, internal mobility, and diversity and inclusion in recruitment; Communities, with support for local socio-economic development, ethical governance and responsible purchasing incorporating CSR criteria. GL events has adopted the ISO 20121 standard across its entire network of venues (source: metz-evenements.com, metz-expo.com).

On the inclusion side, the 2024 edition's content explicitly addressed the place of women in industry, access to industrial trades for people with disabilities, and training pathways from the CAP vocational certificate to engineering school. Free entry and free parking are also an explicit lever for economic accessibility.

Trajectory analysis

Show Industrie was born in November 2022, driven by France Industrie Grand Est, the newspaper La Semaine and Metz Événements, with an openly stated aim of reconciling the region with its industry. The positioning has not moved since: sparking vocations, showing that industry makes everyday life, and giving a central place to the energy transition. The rhythm has settled on even years, with a return every two years in November.

Two signals deserve an exhibitor's attention. First, attendance: more than 12,000 visitors in 2022 for a first edition, a target raised to 15,000 for 2024 then carried over unchanged for 2026, with no review of the 2024 edition ever published. Second, the calendar: the first two editions were held on Friday and Saturday, which preserved a weekend day for the general public. The 2026 edition moves to Thursday and Friday and aligns with Oriaction, the regional careers fair present at the same venue from 19 to 21 November. The centre of gravity is therefore shifting towards school audiences and jobseekers, at the expense of the Saturday family visit.

The practical consequence is simple: the return on investment of a stand here is measured in applications, apprentice contacts and regional visibility, not in commercial leads. For genuine industrial prospecting, the regional circuit runs through SEPEM Industries Est in Colmar, and the national gathering for the sector remains Global Industrie.

Unless otherwise stated, all factual data in this listing comes from the organiser's official website (show-industrie.fr).
