Agoris analysis · updated November 2026

Key points

  • Next edition: Tuesday 1 to Thursday 3 June 2027, at Espace Champerret, Paris. Opening hours are 9am to 7pm on Tuesday, 9am to 6pm on Wednesday and 9am to 5pm on Thursday.
  • SIMPPAR, the Salon International des Matières Premières pour la Parfumerie (international trade show for perfumery raw materials), brings together producers of essential oils and natural extracts, manufacturers of synthetic raw materials, fragrance houses and suppliers of equipment, bottles and software. It is for trade professionals only: not open to the general public or private individuals.
  • Its distinctive rule: every exhibitor has the same stand. In 2027 that means 12 m² fully equipped, at €6,000 excl. VAT for the three days, whether you are a small producer or an international group.
  • Organiser: the Société Française des Parfumeurs (SFP), a French non-profit association (loi 1901). The legal notice on the official website names the company T.A Events, in Courbevoie.
  • Annual frequency since the health crisis, with a stated alternation between Paris and Grasse.
  • Benchmarks: 128 exhibitors from 24 countries and more than 4,000 attendees in Paris in June 2025, according to the specialist outlet CaFleureBon. In Grasse in May 2026, the SFP counted 118 stands and more than 25 nationalities.

Who exhibits

Typical profile

The show covers the perfumery ingredients chain: essential oils and natural extracts, synthetic raw materials, fragrance houses, then equipment, bottles, software and solutions for the industry. Schools and professional associations join them: ESP, IFEAT and ISIPCA were among the schools on the 2026 list, alongside the BSP and the DGP, which the SFP describes as its international counterparts.

Equal treatment shapes the offer. The single stand format removes the race for floor space: a family-run distillery and a multinational present their materials under the same conditions, which makes the show accessible to small companies and reduces the usual advantage of large budgets.

Notable exhibitors

The official 2026 exhibitor list names in particular Givaudan, dsm-firmenich, Symrise, Mane, Robertet, Takasago, IFF with LMR Naturals, BASF, Lanxess, Biolandes, Payan Bertrand, Bontoux and Azelis, alongside specialist producers such as Citrusmade, Galbanum Oil Fragrance and Lisha Essential Oils.

For 2027, the show plan put online in October 2026 already shows more than a hundred booked stands, with names such as Givaudan, Symrise, Mane, Robertet, IFF, BASF and Takasago. This document carries no year and bookings may still change.

Visitor quality

The official website targets perfumers, buyers, R&D managers, technicians and other players in the industry. Thierry Duclos, presented by Nez magazine as the show's organiser, stated there in May 2026 that no other show welcomes as many perfumers.

The most detailed breakdown of the audience dates from 2023: Industries Cosmétiques reported 3,350 entries, including 464 perfumers and more than 240 students, with nearly 45% of visitors from abroad. No independent audit of attendance has been found. For 2027, the official schedule includes a dedicated students slot on Thursday 3 June, from 9am to 5pm.

Activities & community

Conference programme

The official website publishes no conference programme for 2027. The format is built on meeting people and discovering products along the aisles: Thierry Duclos describes it as "the complete opposite of the usual speed dating at conferences" (translated from the French).

For the 2026 edition in Grasse, Expression Cosmétique announced before the opening a garden party hosted by the City at the Villa Fragonard, visits to the rose fields on 28 May and free access to the International Perfume Museum for every badge holder. No published review confirms these activities, which were tied to the Grasse area: nothing indicates that they will be repeated in Paris.

Awards

The SFP International Young Perfumer Award 2027 will be presented at SIMPPAR, according to the SFP. The official schedule places a "Prix du Parfumeur" on Tuesday 1 June, from 7pm to 9.30pm, without explicitly linking it to this competition. The award is open to people under 35, SFP members or not, with entries due by 8 January 2027 at the latest. The theme asks entrants to interpret Claude Monet's painting "La Pie" (The Magpie) as a fragrance. The SFP has presented this award since 1957, and the show's website describes it as biennial. In 2025 the winner was Clémentine Beun, with her creation "Lavande Argentée".

The official schedule also reserves Wednesday 2 June, from 6pm to 9pm, for the SIPC Award, the SIPC being the Société Internationale des Parfumeurs-Créateurs.

Community & networks

The SFP has nearly 600 members from the perfumery industry and is behind the show, which began in 1991 under the name "Journées des Matières Premières". The online plan includes an SFP kiosk, a VIP area and a meeting point.

On the press side, the website's "Vu dans la presse" (In the press) page lists articles from Nez, Expression Cosmétique and Perfumer & Flavorist. Advertising space in the official catalogue is sold by Agence ERI.

How much does it cost to exhibit?

Only two amounts are official: the stand at €6,000 excl. VAT and the cocktail supplement at €20 per person, published on the 2027 stand request page. All other lines are indicative orders of magnitude for a show of this format in Paris, and are in no way SIMPPAR prices.

Planning your visit

For exhibitors

  • Apply early: bookings open in waves, on 1 September 2026 for the Grasse exhibitors, on 1 October for former exhibitors and on 1 November for newcomers. The stand request is reviewed in order of receipt and according to these sequences.
  • Read the general terms before sending: the request is a firm commitment to pay for the stand, unless the organiser refuses it.
  • Note the cancellation scale: refund possible in full up to 120 days before opening, 50% between 119 and 90 days, no refund after that.
  • Focus on the materials rather than the stand: with identical floor space, the difference comes down to samples, novelties and having people who can talk technical detail.
  • Allocate the 10 invitations early: your clients register using your guest code.
  • Plan the set-up: general installation on Sunday 30 May from 8am to 6pm and Monday 31 May from 8am to 1pm, exhibitor access on Monday from 1pm to 8pm, then from 8am to 9am each morning.

For the decision-maker visiting

  • Register from 4 January 2027: the visitor badge request only opens on that date. The website does not yet publish an admission price for 2027.
  • Check the plan and the exhibitor list before coming: the uniform format means you cannot spot the players by the size of their stand.
  • Allow time to smell: the show is visited to discover materials and new suppliers, over three days in 2027 whereas the 2023 to 2026 editions lasted two.

CSR policy & initiatives

Neither the show's website nor the SFP's publishes a CSR policy, carbon footprint report or ISO 20121 certification specific to the event. Industry sustainability issues appear in the press as themes of the show, which does not amount to an organisational commitment.

The verifiable assurance comes from the venue. Viparis, the operator of Espace Champerret, states that in 2014 it was the world's first events operator certified ISO 20121 across all its sites and activity, and has pursued its Better Events policy since 2018. An exhibitor who needs to document their participation can rely on this framework.

How the show has evolved

The show has grown from an association-run format into an international meeting point: about twenty exhibitors in Levallois-Perret in 2006, 50 at Espace Champerret in 2011, then an annual rhythm since the health crisis. In 2024 it left Paris for the first time, for Grasse.

Trajectory analysis

The figures follow the venue. Recent Paris editions exceed a hundred exhibitors (110 in 2023, 128 in 2025), whereas Grasse remains constrained by space: 98 exhibitors in 2024 and 118 stands in 2026. For 2027, Thierry Duclos announced a limited increase in the number of stands, the show deliberately limiting its size to keep its friendly spirit. The move to three days is the most visible change of format for this edition.
