Agoris analysis · updated June 2026
Key takeaways
- Next edition from Wednesday 16 to Saturday 19 June 2027 at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, Hall 7, 9am to 6pm each of the four days. The official website does not display an edition number for 2027.
- To date, VivaTech has published only these dates, the venue, the hall and the opening hours for 2027: no themes, no guest country of honour, no speakers, no pricing grid, no public programme. Partnerships are open, however, with the Become a Partner page displaying "VivaTech 2027 is underway!"
- Official results for the 2026 edition (closing press release of 20 June 2026): 200,000 visitors from 165 nationalities, 60 country pavilions, more than 15,000 startups, more than 4,500 exhibitors, 61% of them international, more than 1,155 speakers and more than 5 billion cumulative social media reach. A record edition, the largest ever organised.
- The 2026 edition was the 10th anniversary edition, from 17 to 20 June: Hall 7 deployed across 3 levels with 30% extra floor space, Germany as Country of the Year, India as AI Country Partner, and a Champs-Élysées takeover on Sunday 14 June. These are all tied to 2026: nothing so far indicates they will be repeated in 2027.
- Ownership: since 4 August 2025, Elvyr, Maurice Lévy's company, has held 50% of Viva Technology alongside Groupe Les Echos - Le Parisien (LVMH), after buying out the 50% previously held by Publicis Groupe. Publicis remains a co-founder and is still listed as a co-organiser in the 2026 closing press release.

On the startup side, turnover is high, with the showcase model mostly playing out over 1 to 3 editions for early-stage companies.

Two separate schemes in 2026. The VivaTech x Bloomberg Awards, held for the first time, recognised: Visionary Award, Sir Tim Berners-Lee; Leadership Award, Joe Tsai (Alibaba); Momentum Award, Yann LeCun (AMI Labs); Breakthrough Award, Peter Steinberger (OpenClaw); Investor Award, Jeannette zu Fürstenberg (General Catalyst); Rising Star Award, May Habib (WRITER); CitizenTech Award, Ukraine.

The Challenges page also describes the permanent Startup Challenges scheme, open-innovation competitions run by large corporates and public bodies. The 2027 challenges and prizes have not opened yet.
Satellite events
In 2026, two public events bookended the anniversary edition. On Sunday 14 June 2026, VivaTech and the Comité Champs-Élysées turned the pedestrianised avenue into an open-air innovation showcase, a first in the show's history. On Saturday 20 June 2026, the VivaTech Festival opened the show to the public, with Thomas Pesquet as star guest. Nothing equivalent has been announced for 2027: the Festival website still displays the 20 June 2026 programme, and the opening hours published for 2027 are the same across all four days, with no separate public day at this stage.
Community & networks
Viva Technology was founded in 2016 by Publicis Groupe and Groupe Les Echos - Le Parisien, which remain the two co-organisers named in the 2026 closing press release. Co-chairs: Maurice Lévy and Michèle Benbunan, CEO of LVMH's Media division. Chief Executive Officer: François Bitouzet.
The network of country pavilions numbered 60 pavilions in 2026. On the matchmaking side, the website presents three schemes: the Business Plaza, created in 2026, a networking village combining the Agora, meeting tables bookable for 30 minutes via the app, and a Market Place of 30 matchmaking tables; the Investors Office Hours, 15-minute one-to-one meetings between founders and investors, allocated first come, first served; and the Investors Reverse Pitch, where more than 30 funds present their investment thesis on stage before meeting startups. The official VivaTech app serves as the booking platform.
Startup queries go to startups@vivatechnology.com, an address displayed on the Startups at VivaTech page.

Innovations showcased included: XPANCEO's smart contact lens, Lifepods' autonomous protection capsule, Lattice Medical's 3D-printed resorbable implants, Tetmet's robotic stainless-steel mesh, and Unitree x HABS's brain-activity-controlled humanoid robot.

Preparing your visit
For the exhibitor
- 12 months out: make contact via the Become a Partner form on the official website, already open for 2027, or apply for a country pavilion (Bpifrance French Tech, partner pavilions) or an official startup pack
- 9 months out: apply for the awards and challenges as soon as they open (Female Founder Award, Tech for Change Award, AfricaTech Award, Next Startupper Challenge), confirm pack and location. The 2027 calendar for these schemes has not been published
- 6 months out: stand brief, investor targeting, Investors Office Hours request via the official platform
- 3 months out: team accreditations, accommodation, product pitch brief (the useful window remains short, content must be ready)
- 6 weeks out: activate the VivaTech app, schedule B2B meetings and Business Plaza slots, sales brief for demos and leads
For the decision-maker visitor
- The 2027 prices are not published. In 2026, the Attendee pass was €650 excl. VAT, to be compared with the Investor or CMO pass depending on profile: matchmaking rights differ
- Identify the ten startups to see in advance: there were more than 15,000 in 2026, and the official matchmaking app is indispensable
- Allow at least 2 days to cover Hall 7 across 3 levels, the country pavilions and the conferences
- The major conferences fill up several weeks in advance, with limited capacity
- Saturday was the public day of the VivaTech Festival in 2026, of limited B2B interest. The format of Saturday 19 June 2027 has not been announced
CSR policy & initiatives
VivaTech structures its CSR approach under the #VivaTech4Change label, built around four pillars displayed on the Our Commitments page: reducing environmental footprint, fostering inclusion and diversity in tech, engaging and educating to drive action, and creating a healthy working environment. A CSR policy and a 2025 impact report are available for download.
The event has been ISO 20121 certified since 2024, the reference standard for sustainable event management. VivaTech calculates the carbon footprint of both the company and the event, and publishes a reduction roadmap through to 2030. On catering, 50% of dishes offered were vegetarian and no beef was served at catering points, catering services or partner receptions.
The impact dimension is embodied by the Impact Bridge, a 1,500 sq m space created in 2024 with EDF, bringing together 80 solutions, startups and associations with an environmental or societal impact, and by the Tech for Change Award, won in 2026 by Fanny Giannou (Alithea Biotechnology).
On inclusion, the website reports more than 150 academic partnerships in France and abroad, 25,000 students invited each year, a parity target of 40% women on stage and on juries, and a gender equality index of 91 out of 100. These figures are published without an explicit reference year on the Our Commitments page.

Trajectory analysis
A trajectory of continuous growth since 2016, except for the COVID trough of 2020-2022: 300% audience growth in ten years according to the organiser, from 45,000 visitors in 2016 to 180,000 in 2025, then 200,000 in 2026. The anniversary edition converted its step-change in scale into results: Hall 7 across 3 levels and the 30% extra floor space translated into a record turnout, 60 country pavilions and more than 4,500 exhibitors, 61% of them international. The choice of Germany plus India positioned the edition on the axis of European technological sovereignty, with two heads of state or government on stage. Publicis Groupe's exit from the capital in August 2025 did not affect the model: Maurice Lévy remains a 50% shareholder via Elvyr, alongside Groupe Les Echos - Le Parisien, and Publicis remains a co-founder and co-organiser. For 2027, the organiser has not yet committed to anything publicly beyond the dates and the hall: the open question is whether the scale reached in 2026 becomes the new baseline or remains an anniversary peak.
Unless otherwise stated, all factual data in this listing comes from the organiser's official website (vivatech.com).
