Agoris analysis · updated June 2026

Key takeaways

  • World Nuclear Exhibition (WNE) is the leading global trade show for the civil nuclear sector, organised by RX France on behalf of GIFEN (Groupement des Industriels Français de l'Énergie Nucléaire). Held on a biennial cycle (editions in 2014, 2016, 2018, then 2021, 2023, 2025 following the Covid postponement; aligned with odd years since 2021): the next edition is announced for 7-9 December 2027 at Paris Nord Villepinte, halls 5A and 6. There is no WNE edition in 2026.
  • The 2025 edition (4-6 November, halls 5A and 6) set a historic record with 1,070 exhibitors (vs 780 in 2023) and 36,000 attendees (vs 23,600 in 2023), a rise of more than 50% in attendance over two years: driven by the EPR2 relaunch, the rise of SMRs and the prominence of nuclear power in the European energy pact.
  • 25 national pavilions and more than 80 nationalities represented in 2025: the most international event in the sector, with an exceptional institutional delegation (Rafael Mariano Grossi, Director General of the IAEA; Fatih Birol, Executive Director of the IEA; Sama Bilbao y León, Director General of the WNA; Roland Lescure, Minister for the Economy and Energy Sovereignty, France; Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hungary; Sharon S. Garin, Secretary of Energy, Philippines; Wojciech Wrochna, Ministry of Industry, Poland; Stephen Lecce, Minister of Energy and Mines, Ontario; Lassina Zerbo, President of the Rwanda Atomic Energy Board).
  • WNE Innovation Awards: 110 entries in 2025 (+40% international participation, +15% candidate companies), 8 winners across 4 official categories. WNE Startup Programme: 11 startups from the 2023 cohort returned to exhibit at the France Pavilion in 2025.
  • Two editorial themes confirmed for 2027: "Nuclear Today and Tomorrow" (existing fleet, EPR, SMR, AMR, safety, fuel cycle) and "Beyond Electricity" (medical, agriculture, propulsion, heat, hydrogen, desalination).

Preparing your visit

For the exhibitor

  • 12 months out: get in touch with RX France or GIFEN, application file, choice between a direct stand, a national pavilion (Bpifrance / Business France for the France Pavilion) or a startup package.
  • 9 months out: application for the WNE Innovation Awards (4 categories), application for the WNE Startup Programme.
  • 6 months out: stand brief, targeting of priority contractors (EDF, Framatome, Orano, Westinghouse, KHNP, etc.), meeting requests on the official platform.
  • 3 months out: team accreditation, accommodation in Roissy/Villepinte, technical brief. A B2B sector event: highly qualified visitors but long cycles, stand content geared towards technical proof (feedback, certifications, project references).
  • 6 weeks out: scheduling of business meetings, sales briefing, coverage plan for the relevant country sessions.

For the decision-maker visitor

  • Free pre-registration is mandatory via the official website. Check the eligibility criteria (proof of professional involvement in the nuclear sector).
  • Build your visit plan around the two editorial themes: "Nuclear Today and Tomorrow" for fleet and new-reactor issues, "Beyond Electricity" for non-electrical uses.
  • Identify the national pavilions of interest in advance (25+ countries in 2025) and the corresponding country sessions.
  • Activate the official matchmaking platform 4 to 6 weeks ahead to structure your meetings (9,000 meetings held in 2025).
  • Book the opening plenaries (IAEA, IEA, ministers) as soon as registration opens, as capacity is limited.

Policy & CSR initiatives

The official WNE website lists an "Our commitments" section dedicated to the event's commitments, without detailed publication of impact indicators to date. The trade show is operated by RX France, a subsidiary of RELX, a group that has signed up to a Net Zero Carbon Events commitment across all its events. In terms of content, the "Beyond Electricity" theme structurally carries the environmental impact dimension of nuclear power (low-carbon hydrogen, desalination, decarbonised industrial heat, nuclear medicine), and the "Nuclear Today and Tomorrow" theme documents reactor lifetime extension as a major climate lever. The detailed impact report for the 2025 edition is not published on the website at the time of writing.

Trajectory analysis

A trajectory accelerating sharply since 2023. The first edition in 2014 at Le Bourget laid the foundations of a French sector trade show (495 exhibitors, 7,200 visitors). The 2025 edition moved WNE into the category of the major global energy-sector gatherings, with 36,000 attendees and 25 national pavilions: a result of the civil nuclear relaunch in Europe (EU green taxonomy 2022, French EPR2 plan, European SMR programme), in the United States (Inflation Reduction Act, X-energy, Kairos Power and NuScale projects) and in Asia (programmes in India, China, Korea). The 2027 edition (7-9 December) will build on this momentum, with a clear positioning around the two themes "Nuclear Today and Tomorrow" and "Beyond Electricity". Of note: RX France (formerly Reed Expositions, rebranded in 2022) remains the operator, while GIFEN remains the institutional organiser that owns the event.
