Who exhibits
Typical profile
Art Paris positions itself in the mid-market and the French scene, as a strategic complement to Art Basel Paris (international high-end, held in October at the same Grand Palais). The fair blends modern art galleries and contemporary art galleries, with strong representation of French and European creation.
For 2026, the editorial target is 160 to 165 galleries from 20 countries, of which 60% are French galleries and 40% foreign galleries. More than 900 artists are represented, with a renewal rate of around 30% new exhibitors compared with the previous edition.
Additional sections
- Promesses: 27 galleries less than 10 years old, a space dedicated to young emerging structures.
- French Design Art Edition: 18 exhibitors, focusing on edition design and art design in France.
- Babel: Art and Language in France: a cross-cutting curatorial trail bringing together 21 artists around the materiality of the letter, the tension between text and image, translation and the ambiguity of the sign, under the curatorship of Loïc Le Gall.
- La Réparation: an international curatorial trail of around 20 artists, exploring care, memory, resilience and reinvention, under the curatorship of Alexia Fabre.
Quality of the visitor base
- 2025 edition: 87,275 visitors over four days, an all-time record for the fair.
- Post-2026 report communicated by the organiser: 87,275 visitors, 165 exhibiting galleries, 181 institutions and collectors' circles represented from 26 countries.
- An audience combining the informed general public, collectors, art advisers, curators, institutions, specialist press and art market professionals.
- A dedicated VIP programme for collectors, advisers and institutional figures (preview, private tours, early access).
Events & community
2026 curatorial trails
Babel: Art and Language in France (Loïc Le Gall). The trail examines the materiality of the letter, the tension between text and image, the play of translation and the ambiguity of the sign through the work of 21 artists, in resonance with modern and contemporary French history.
La Réparation (Alexia Fabre). An international selection of around 20 artists, organised around the notions of care, memory, resilience and reinvention. The trail highlights practices that connect artistic gesture with contemporary issues.
Prix MAIF Métamorphoses
The Prix MAIF for sculpture, suspended in 2024 after 15 winners (the most recent being Arthur Hoffner, Fragilités, 2023), was transformed in December 2025 into the Prix MAIF Métamorphoses, refocused on committed art and the ecological transition.
The 10 winners of the first Métamorphoses edition were announced on 24 March 2026 at the MAIF Social Club. Théophile Peris won the Grand Prix and Jade Tang the Prix du Jury. The winners benefit from a residency at the Régénérative Académie, a programme run by the Campus de la Transition, in July 2026.
VIP and institutional programme
A programme dedicated to collectors, art advisers and representatives of institutions: private previews, exclusive guided tours, meetings with the curators of the curatorial trails, and access to partner collectors' circles.
Guided tours
Themed guided tours lasting 45 minutes, led by mediators and art historians. Price €15 to €20 per participant depending on the format, by booking.

How much it costs to exhibit
France Conventions does not publish a public pricing grid. The conditions for participation are communicated upon application to the general curatorship, with a selection timetable opening as early as the summer preceding the fair. Stand levels vary according to positioning (main gallery, the Promesses section for galleries less than 10 years old, the French Design Art Edition section).
Applications to the Promesses section are subject to a specific selection committee, with a reduced pricing grid to give young galleries access.

CSR policy & initiatives
From 2021, Art Paris embarked on a pioneering CSR approach within the art fair ecosystem, with a world first for this type of event: a life cycle assessment (LCA) conducted with Karbone Prod, Solinnen and Art of Change 21.
Results measured between the 2021 and 2022 editions:
- Waste: 25.1 tonnes in 2021, 13.6 tonnes in 2022 (-45.8%).
- Electricity consumption: 61,666 kWh in 2021, 38,691 kWh in 2022 (-37.2%).
- 12 tonnes of materials recovered in 2022 through reuse channels.
The eco-design approach launched in 2022 represents the first documented initiative of its kind for an art fair worldwide. It shapes the scenographic choices, the reuse of partitioning materials and the pooling of equipment between exhibitors.

Trajectory analysis
Founded in 1999, Art Paris managed to hold its ground throughout the decade of FIAC's dominance, before benefiting from the shift in the Parisian market from 2022 onwards: FIAC was replaced by Paris+ par Art Basel (renamed Art Basel Paris in 2024), now positioned in late October at the Grand Palais. During the renovation of the Grand Palais between 2021 and 2023, Art Paris kept its appointment at the Grand Palais Éphémère on the Champ-de-Mars (a structure designed by Wilmotte), before returning to the restored Grand Palais in 2024.
The current positioning is clear: Art Paris occupies the April slot (the Parisian spring) with a mid-market + French scene format, where Art Basel Paris (24 to 26 October 2025 at the Grand Palais, 206 galleries, around 73,000 visitors) holds the autumn slot in the international high-end segment. The April fair reached its all-time attendance record in 2025 (87,275 visitors), and is launching a 28th edition in 2026 with a tighter target of 160 to 165 galleries, two demanding curatorial trails (Babel, La Réparation), a consolidation of the Prix MAIF Métamorphoses, and a CSR approach that remains without documented equivalent among international art fairs.
