Key takeaways

  • Documation is the Paris trade show for information and document process management: electronic document management (EDM), electronic archiving, digitisation, digital trust, monitoring and, now increasingly to the fore, artificial intelligence applied to documents.
  • Next edition: Wednesday 9 and Thursday 10 June 2027, at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. The hall for 2027 has not yet been announced; the 2026 edition occupied Hall 4.
  • Calendar change: the trade show was held in March from 2018 to 2025, excluding the pandemic years, then in April in 2026. It moves to June in 2027.
  • Organiser: Infopromotions, a Paris-based société anonyme that presents itself as an independent French trade show organiser of more than forty years' standing. No co-organiser.
  • Annual frequency. The April 2026 edition was presented as the 32nd.
  • Documation forms a single event with the Digital Workplace trade show: same dates, same venue, shared exhibitor list and attendance figures. It runs alongside Solutions RH and Innovative Learning.
  • 2025 attendance, shared between Documation and Digital Workplace: 5,290 professional visitors and 3,227 attendees at conferences, round tables and workshops.

Who exhibits

Typical profile

The scope stated by the trade show is broad: digitisation, document management and processing, electronic archiving, content and data management, technical documentation and technical writing, data and business intelligence, knowledge management, customer communication and digital publishing, digital trust, technology monitoring, collaborative work, digital workplace, translation and localisation, artificial intelligence.

In practice, the exhibition mainly brings together EDM, capture and archiving software vendors, printing and scanning equipment manufacturers, electronic signature and digital trust providers, monitoring solution vendors and a few specialist media. Some of the stands are grouped into villages: in 2026, a Village Jalios, a Village Systematic and a Village Efutura each hosted several companies.

Notable exhibitors

The official exhibitor list shown at the time of writing is that of the 8 and 9 April 2026 edition, shared between Documation and Digital Workplace. The 2027 list is not yet published.

In 2026, on the EDM, capture and document processing side: DocuWare, Xerox, Everteam Software, Neoledge, Efalia, Zeendoc, Maarch, AODocs, M-Files (via Phicad and Osiged), Opex Business Machines, Digitech and Docteller. Konica Minolta and Toshiba Tec France Imaging System were listed among the sponsors. On the digital trust side: LuxTrust, Goodflag, Evidency and Worldline. On the monitoring and competitive intelligence side: KB Crawl, Curebot, Cikisi, Sindup, Visibrain and Chapsvision.

The collaborative segment, which belongs primarily to Digital Workplace, notably featured Jalios, LumApps, Powell Software, Jamespot, Wimi, eXo Platform, Workvivo by Zoom, Orange Business, monday.com, OnlyOffice, Collabora Online and XWiki.

Quality of the audience

The organiser highlights an expert, loyal and engaged audience, and targeted business meetings with project leads and decision-makers. One of the 2026 plenary sessions was aimed explicitly at information professionals, department and function heads, and CIOs.

The 2026 programme gives a sense of the user organisations present: case studies from the Conseil économique, social et environnemental (France's Economic, Social and Environmental Council), Eiffage, Groupe Servier, Crédit Agricole Assurances and INRS, a demonstration with Groupama, and a collaborative project from ADEME.

The 5,290 professional visitors in 2025, up 15% according to the organiser, are a total shared between Documation and Digital Workplace: no breakdown between the two trade shows is published. No OJS certification or third-party attendance audit is displayed, and the 2026 edition's results had not been published at the time of writing.

Events & community

Conference programme

The trade show is built around a series of conferences and round tables hosted by a journalist and often illustrated with client accounts, organised in partnership with the magazine Archimag, alongside workshops run by exhibitors.

The 2026 edition included three plenary conferences, among them "Fraudes à l'identité, faux documents, escroqueries : quelles solutions pour sauver la confiance ?" (Identity fraud, fake documents, scams: what solutions to restore trust?) and "Augmenter la Ged et la gestion de contenu avec les IA génératives : cas d'usage, retours d'expérience et les clés pour se lancer" (Enhancing EDM and content management with generative AI: use cases, experience and keys to getting started), with the third addressing electronic invoice fraud. The workshops covered four themes: generative and agentic AI in EDM, the rollout of mandatory electronic invoicing set for 1 September 2026, document fraud and archiving with probative value, and tool sovereignty.

The 2027 programme had not been published at the time of writing.

i-Expo, the monitoring space

Each year, Documation devotes part of its space to i-Expo and its traditional themes: monitoring, competitive intelligence and influence strategies. The organiser now presents the whole under the banner "Documation & iExpo".

In 2026, this strand took the form of a series of round tables over two days, opening with a session on information professions facing generative and agentic AI and closing on information sovereignty and security. Monitoring solution vendors were due to present their new offerings there, according to Archimag's pre-show announcement. The trade show does not award any prizes or trophies.

Community & networks

In 2026, three institutional partners were listed: Efutura, FLA Consultants and GF2I.

On the media side, Archimag, partner for the conference series, records live podcasts at the trade show every year. The other 2026 press partners notably included GPO Magazine, Décision Achats, LeMagIT, L'Informaticien, ITPro.fr Smart DSI, Solutions Numériques, Programmez, Netsources and Le Nouvel Économiste.

The trade show is part of a wider group organised by Infopromotions on the same dates: the Solutions RH website lists Innovative Learning, Digital Workplace, Documation and iExpo alongside it, as well as a Forum Cybersécurité, Cloud, IA. The organiser does not designate a lead trade show: Documation and Digital Workplace each keep their own website and theme, but share their exhibition and figures.

On site: what you need to know

The trade show is held at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. The 2027 hall has not yet been indicated; in 2026, Documation occupied Hall 4.

Access by metro on line 12, Porte de Versailles station, Paris Expo exit; by tram on the T3, Porte de Versailles station; by bus on lines 39 and 80. By car, from the outer ring road (périphérique extérieur), Porte de Versailles - Pont de Sèvres exit, then avenue de la Porte de Sèvres and boulevard Victor; from the inner ring road (périphérique intérieur), Porte de Sèvres exit, then boulevard Victor to place de la Porte de Versailles. Air France, the official carrier, offers discounts on its flights.

The 2027 opening hours are not yet on the Documation website. Those announced by Digital Workplace for the same days are from 09:00 to 18:30 on Wednesday 9 June and from 09:00 to 18:00 on Thursday 10 June, identical to 2026. Visitor registration for 2027 was not yet open at the time of writing: the site's Visit page still pointed to the 2026 edition.

How much it costs to exhibit

Infopromotions does not publish any pricing schedule online: the site's Pour exposer (Exhibit with us) page is a simple request-for-information form. The amounts below are indicative orders of magnitude for a two-day professional trade show of this format at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. They are in no way the official Documation rates.
Poste de dépenseFourchette basseFourchette haute
Equipped 9 m² stand (turnkey package, on quotation)5,000 €12,000 €
Additional fit-out: furniture, electricity, connection, demonstration screen1,500 €6,000 €
Exhibitor workshop or sponsored conference (depending on package)2,000 €10,000 €
On-site staff, travel and accommodation (2 days)1,500 €5,000 €
Communication, client invitations, materials1,000 €4,000 €
INDICATIVE TOTAL, stand only (2 days)~9,000 €~27,000 €
INDICATIVE TOTAL, stand and workshop (2 days)~11,000 €~37,000 €

At a trade show where half the value runs through the conferences and workshops, it is speaking slots rather than floor space that tip the budget. Another option observed in 2026: exhibiting within a vendor or cluster village. Rates to be requested from Infopromotions via the site's form.

Preparing your visit

For the exhibitor

  • Factor in the new calendar: moving from March to June shifts the usual preparation, budgets and sales follow-ups.
  • Aim for a workshop or a sponsored conference: the 2026 programme had dozens of them, and that is where the audience of attendees is built.
  • Look into a village presence, as with Jalios, Systematic or Efutura in 2026, if an individual stand is not justified.
  • Factor in the sharing with Digital Workplace: the audience is shared with a trade show dedicated to collaboration and intranets, which opens bridges between EDM and the digital workplace.
  • Prepare concrete client case studies: the programme is built on experience-sharing.

For the decision-making visitor

  • Come with a specific project, electronic invoicing, an EDM overhaul, archiving or document AI: the trade show lets you compare several vendors in a single day.
  • Note the plenary sessions: in 2026, two of the three opened in the morning, at 09:15.
  • Follow the i-Expo round tables for monitoring and competitive intelligence.
  • Make the most of the wider group organised on the same dates, Digital Workplace, Solutions RH and Innovative Learning, to cover several topics in a single trip.

Policy & CSR initiatives

All four levels of sources were checked. The Documation website has no CSR or sustainable development section, and no ISO 20121 certification is displayed for the event. Infopromotions does not publish a group-wide CSR programme either.

The venue, however, provides a documented framework. Viparis, the operator of Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, states that it was the first events operator in the world to be certified ISO 20121 across all its sites and activity, with sites certified for twelve years, and is rolling out its Better Events strategy through to 2030, built around reducing environmental footprint, local heritage and staff engagement.

On the content side, the topic remains marginal: the 2026 programme included a session on responsible cloud and AI, and collaborative work linked to CSR features among the exhibition themes. These are programme themes, not a commitment from the organiser.

Trajectory analysis

Documation is a long-established trade show, rooted at Porte de Versailles for many years. From 2018 to 2024, it ran over three days in March, with the first day opening at 14:00; since 2025, it has narrowed to two full days. Between 2020 and 2021, the website successively announced March 2020, May 2020, September 2020, March 2021 and September 2021, before returning to March 2022.

Its name has followed the market's evolution. In 2018, the trade show was billed as "Documation & Data Intelligence Forum"; it then presented itself as the trade show for information and document process management, joined in 2025 by business processes. This shift is consistent with the 2026 programme, where several workshop titles present EDM as the foundation for process automation and AI agents.

The tie-up with Digital Workplace has a direct consequence for anyone trying to gauge the trade show's size: the published figures, 5,290 professional visitors in 2025, up 15%, cover both events without a breakdown. The stated growth is clear, but the share specific to document management cannot be measured from the outside.

That leaves the calendar. After years in March, the move to April in 2026 and then June in 2027 changes the trade show's place in buyers' budget year. The organiser has not given a reason publicly. Dates for the 2028 edition had not been announced at the time of writing.

All data that does not mention a source comes from the organiser's website.

Unless otherwise stated, all factual data in this listing comes from the organiser's official website (salon-documation.com).
