Key points
- Mesures Solutions EXPO is the French trade show for measurement: sensors, instrumentation, metrology, calibration, testing and data acquisition. The organiser presents it as the only national exhibition dedicated to this market.
- Next edition: Wednesday 11 and Thursday 12 October 2028 in Lyon. The 2028 pre-registration protocol published by the organiser places the show at the Centre de Congrès de Lyon, forums 4, 5 and 6, as in 2026; the website's home page gives the dates without naming the hall.
- Organiser: the Réseau Mesure, a French non-profit association (loi 1901) that brings together companies from the sector. No co-organiser: the Collège Français de Métrologie is a partner and co-organises the conference programme.
- Frequency: every two years, in even-numbered years since 2018. Official website.
- Latest published results, those of 2024: 146 exhibitors and co-exhibitors, 10 start-ups, more than 2,000 participants. The results of the October 2026 edition had not been published at the time of writing.
- Free admission for visitors at the 2026 edition, badge to be requested online, conferences and catering breaks included. The 2028 visitor arrangements have not been published yet.
- Exhibitors: a pre-registration pack for 2028 is online on the official website (pre-booking of a space of at least 6 m²). No 2028 price list has been published.
Who exhibits
Typical profile
Manufacturers, distributors, laboratories and technical bodies share the stands. The 2026 registration form lists around forty fields of expertise: temperature and pyrometry, pressure, flow measurement, level, force and torque, dimensional and three-dimensional measurement, gas analysis, physico-chemical analysis, air quality, data acquisition, calibration and metrology, electrical test and measurement, software.
For 2026, the organiser's August press release announced 150 exhibitors representing nearly 300 French and international brands; for 2024, its post-show press release already counted 300 major brands. The gap suggests that some exhibitors, distributors in particular, present several brands on a single stand: a buyer can then compare technologies without multiplying meetings.
Notable exhibitors
The 2026 exhibitor list is the latest one online: no 2028 list has been published, and nothing indicates at this stage who will return. It includes process instrumentation companies such as ABB France, Endress+Hauser, Krohne, Yokogawa France, Vega France, WIKA and Vaisala; dimensional metrology with Mitutoyo, Nikon Metrology, Creaform and Werth France; data acquisition with Dewetron and Gantner Instruments; calibration with Trescal, Manumesure and Beamex; analysis with ENVEA, Chromatotec and Metrohm France.
Reference bodies are part of the line-up: LNE, CETIAT, CERIB and the Collège Français de Métrologie appear in the 2026 list.
Comparing with the 2024 list shows genuine turnover. Nikon Metrology, Beckhoff Automation, Metrohm France and Panametrics appear in 2026 without being in the 2024 list; Anton Paar, Siemens DISW, Netzsch and Metrologic Group were there in 2024 but not in 2026.
Visitor quality
The most detailed data are those of the 2024 results published by the organiser, with no third-party audit or OJS certification. By job function: 41% executives and engineers, 17% CEOs, managing directors and managers, 17% technicians and foremen, 12% directors and heads of department, 11% work-study students, trainees and students, 7% employees and project officers. The show does welcome student classes, which probably explains this last share and is a reason to qualify contacts quickly on the stand.
By department, general management, R&D and sales come first, ahead of education, technical management and design offices. Industrial companies dominate, followed by laboratories and testing, then equipment suppliers: part of the visitor base therefore belongs to the sector itself. The most represented activities are chemicals and pharmaceuticals, energy and mining, aerospace, automotive and rail, and metallurgy.
Recruitment remains regional: more than half of visitors come from Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, two-thirds from within 250 km, and 11.1% from Île-de-France. Calibration and metrology, flow measurement and data acquisition are the top declared areas of interest.
On the exhibitor side, the same report states that 79% achieved their objectives and 21% partially, that two-thirds report more than 20 useful contacts over two days, and that more than 85% were already planning to return in 2026. These are responses to a survey run by the organiser.
Activities & community
Conference programme
The 2028 programme has not been published. The 2026 one shows the format: conferences and round tables, most often one hour long, and 30-minute technical talks given by exhibitors, all free with registration. The Collège Français de Métrologie had scheduled sessions on making measurement data reliable with the DCC, the standards that frame the metrology function, gas analysers and dimensional measurement technologies. The Cluster Eau Milieux Sols was due to cover the digital management of water, and the Club SPE GIMELEC Single Pair Ethernet. This programme is the one published before the event: no 2026 results confirm it to date. CETIAT offered a visit of some of its laboratories, by prior registration, on 14 October 2026.
In 2024, the results report 10 conferences and 24 thematic workshops, with 444 people attending at least one conference, 500 at least one workshop and 483 unique visitors across all of them, up 57% on 2022.
The Collège Français de Métrologie also organises the Congrès International de Métrologie, announced for 15 to 18 March 2027 in Lyon: it is a separate event, not to be confused with this trade show.
Dedicated areas
The show reserves an area for start-ups and an employment and training area, where schools and recruiters meet professionals. In 2026, a round table on recruitment in measurement professions was announced with APEC and the firm ACAVI.
Innovations are published on a dedicated page of the website, still devoted to 2026. The July 2026 press release cited in particular Mitutoyo's QM-Fit, a vision system that identifies parts before measuring them, GEMESIS's APERIO neutron imaging platform for batteries and hydrogen, and FTMesures' FTHUM-01 fibre-optic sensor, designed to measure humidity inside concrete.
Community & networks
The Réseau Mesure, founded in 2002 by five company directors, reports more than 240 member companies. The trade show is its flagship action, and this origin shows in the model: preferential rates for members, meals taken on the show floor, a network evening. The association also organises pooled participation at other trade shows, including Pollutec.
On the press side, the show lists many specialist partners, including Contrôles Essais Mesures, Mesures, Essais & Simulations, La Gazette du Laboratoire and L'Usine Nouvelle.
On site: what to know
The practical information online (access, opening hours) is that of 2026. The 2028 pre-registration protocol places the edition in the same location, forums 4, 5 and 6 of the Centre de Congrès de Lyon, but warns that the plan is not strictly identical to the 2026 one and that surfaces can be adjusted by module. In 2026, entry was at 50 quai Charles de Gaulle, pedestrian entrance B, and the show was open from 9am to 6pm on Wednesday and from 9am to 5pm on Thursday.
The site is 10 minutes from Part-Dieu station and 15 minutes from Perrache, on public transport lines C1, C5 and C23. By car, take the Porte de Saint-Clair exit on the northern ring road; the Cité Internationale car parks offer more than 3,000 spaces, P2 being the closest. A direct tram express links the airport to Part-Dieu.
The 2028 opening hours have not been published; the plan of the forums is on the back of the pre-registration protocol. Contact for the organisation: mse@reseau-mesure.com.

Travel, accommodation and transport of equipment are not included. The pack covers a listing in the exhibitor list and the guide, badges, the contact-capture app, the visitor file subject to conditions, wifi, hall security, the buffet and coffee breaks, and a place at the evening event. Visibility options on the 2026 price list run from €368 excl. VAT (logo on the online exhibitor profile) and €640 excl. VAT for an inside page of the guide or a welcome panel, up to €4,155 excl. VAT for badge lanyards supplied by the organiser.
Three clauses of the 2026 conditions of sale weigh on the real budget. Each exhibitor must provide a list of target addresses for the show's pooled promotion; failing that, €1,200 excl. VAT is charged for the purchase of contacts, or proof of communication actions of the same value is required. A cancellation then costs 50% of the contract up to the 270th day before the first set-up day, 75% between the 269th and the 90th day, and 100% after that. Finally, spaces are offered in order of arrival of registrations.
Preparing your visit
For the exhibitor
- Pre-book your space: the 2028 agreement protocol, available to download on the official website, asks for the area (6 m² minimum), the number of corners and the preferred location on the plan, and states that this commitment determines the order in which stand locations are chosen. The booking remains subject to the registration file, the conditions of sale and the deposit. The online registration form is still the 2026 one, whose closing date was 26 June 2026, less than four months before the show.
- Compare the cost of Réseau Mesure membership with the price difference: €105 excl. VAT per m² on the 2026 price list, or €630 excl. VAT for 6 m². The membership fee is calculated on the association's website.
- Prepare the list of target addresses early: it avoids the €1,200 excl. VAT clause and conditions access to the visitor file.
- Offer a technical talk: the service was free in 2026, subject to approval by the technical committee, with a topic to be submitted before 30 March, more than six months before the show.
- Train the stand team to qualify quickly: the share of students and sector suppliers among the 2024 visitors is significant.
For the decision-making visitor
- Come with a specific case: the two-day format lets you compare several technologies for the same physical quantity.
- Cross-check the exhibitor list and the website's filter by field of expertise before planning your route.
- Book the conferences in advance: registration was free in 2026 but separate from the entry badge.
- Plan for the whole day: in 2026, lunch and coffee breaks were included in visitor registration.
CSR policy & initiatives
The show's website has no commitments section, and neither it nor the Réseau Mesure website publishes, as far as we have read, a carbon assessment or ISO 20121 certification specific to the event.
The 2026 venue provides a documented guarantee: the Lyon events sites, including the Centre de Congrès de Lyon, are ISO 20121 certified, and the Centre collected and sorted more than 12.9 tonnes of organic waste in 2023. This certification is that of the venue operator, not of the show.
Decarbonisation is also a content topic: the August 2026 press release lists it among the programme themes, and the website devotes a film to it. In 2024, an exhibitor deployed a real-time air quality measurement system during the show. This is content and demonstration, not a quantified organisational commitment.

Trajectory analysis
Growth is clear: 80 stands in 2017, more than 110 in 2018, then 146 exhibitors and co-exhibitors in 2024, with 150 announced for 2026. Attendance follows, from about 1,000 visitors at the first edition to 1,662 in 2018, then more than 2,000 participants in 2024. The units vary from year to year (stands, exhibitors, visitors, participants), so these figures give an order of magnitude rather than a comparable series.
The history of the calendar is less linear. After two editions close together, in June 2017 and March 2018, the show adopted a biennial rhythm in October. An edition was announced for 14 and 15 October 2020, and the website still keeps an exhibitor list for that year. It was cancelled on the decision of the Lyon prefect, according to the website's home page at the time (web archive of 29 October 2020), which announced the return in October 2022.
The show remains modest in size, and that is its selling point: a community of specialists gathered over two days in a congress centre, with free entry and a model driven by the exhibitors themselves. The constraint is space: in 2018, more than ten companies did not obtain a stand according to the magazine L'Eau, l'Industrie, les Nuisances, and the 2026 conditions of sale allocate spaces in order of arrival of registrations. For a measurement supplier, applying early is therefore the simplest precaution for 2028.
