Key takeaways
- 2026 rebranding: formerly the Salon de la Photo, the event becomes Salon Photo & Vidéo, announced on 27 February 2026 by Comexposium. Its editorial scope broadens to video capture and content creation.
- Dates: from Thursday 8 to Sunday 11 October 2026 at the Grande Halle de la Villette, open 10am-7pm. Four days for the general public.
- 2025 figures (9-12 October, Villette): 37,188 visitors (+1% vs 36,823 in 2024), 114 exhibitors representing 167 brands, 1,000 sq m of photographic exhibitions. Modest growth confirmed after the move to Villette in 2022.
- Organiser: Comexposium. A strictly B2C, general-public format, distinct from Paris Photo (Grand Palais, November, a high-end photographic art fair). Admission €13 full price, €7 concession, free for under-12s, with numerous free invitation codes via the media partners.
- Expected exhibitors: Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm, Leica, OM System (formerly Olympus), Ricoh, Sigma, Tamron, Epson, Tetenal. The flagship Les Zooms du Salon competition (8 photographers selected via 8 media partners), the Public Prize and the Press Prize.
Who exhibits
Typical profile
A strictly B2C trade show: photo/video manufacturers, specialist opticians, accessory makers (tripods, filters, bags), photo printers and labs, retouching software publishers, schools and training providers, online storage and printing platforms, and the photographic press. The Salon Photo & Vidéo 2026 brand introduces in 2026 a clear focus on video creation (content creators, photo/video hybrids, audio and stabilisation accessories).
Notable exhibitors (2026)
- Major manufacturers: Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm, Leica, OM System (formerly Olympus), Ricoh.
- Third-party optics: Sigma, Tamron.
- Printing and prints: Epson, Tetenal.
- Print partners: Picto (prints offered to the Zooms du Salon winners, a long-standing partner).
- Media partners for the Zooms: Polka, Photo, Fisheye, Réponses Photo, Compétence Photo, Like Magazine, Phototrend, De l'air.
Retention rate
A stable core of exhibitors (major manufacturers, third-party opticians, print firms) present at every edition since the return to Villette in 2022, reinforced each year by rotating accessory and software brands. The shift to 114 exhibitors for 167 brands in 2025 reflects a consolidation through shared stands (a single distributor may represent several brands).
Quality of the audience
A strictly B2C audience: advanced amateur photographers, enthusiasts, content creators, photography and video students, families and curious newcomers. No professional buyer programme. The high density of hands-on equipment trials and the direct closeness to brands are the main engagement levers.
Activities & community
Les Zooms du Salon
A flagship competition created in 2010, now central to the show's editorial identity. Format: 8 photographers selected by 8 media partners (Polka, Photo, Fisheye, Réponses Photo, Compétence Photo, Like Magazine, Phototrend, De l'air). Two prizes awarded on site:
- Public Prize: voted live by the show's visitors.
- Press Prize: awarded by a jury made up of the media partners.
The winners receive a print offered by Picto. 2025 winners: Juliette Dupuis Carle (Public Prize), the Max & Louna duo (Press Prize).
CP+ Yokohama partnership
Since 2010 the show has maintained a partnership with CP+ (Camera & Photo Imaging Show) in Yokohama, the benchmark show of the Japanese photographic industry. The winning Press Zoom is notably exhibited as part of this exchange.
Photographic exhibitions
A programme of 1,000 sq m of exhibitions (2025 figure) built into the show's floor plan: a projection of the Zooms, themed exhibitions led by the media partners and by the manufacturers (Canon, Nikon and Fujifilm regularly exhibit major photographic projects).
Outdoor equipment trials
A unique advantage of the Villette site: an equipment trial zone outdoors in the Parc de la Villette (55 hectares), allowing real-world shooting (natural light, varied subjects, distances) impossible at the earlier Porte de Versailles editions. A defining selling point adopted by manufacturers since 2022.
What's new in 2026
The official "Salon Photo & Vidéo" rebranding confirmed on 27 February 2026. An editorial broadening towards video (content creators, hybrids, sound and stabilisation accessories), reflecting the convergence of photo and video in camera bodies and in expert amateur usage.
On site: what you need to know
- Venue: Grande Halle de la Villette, 211 avenue Jean Jaurès, 75019 Paris. Villette has been the show's home since 2022 (NOT Porte de Versailles since that date).
- 2026 dates: from Thursday 8 to Sunday 11 October 2026, open 10am-7pm.
- Getting there: Metro L5 (Porte de Pantin) a 3-minute walk from the Grande Halle, Metro L7 (Porte de la Villette) 8 minutes away. Tram T3b (Porte de Pantin and Ella Fitzgerald stops). Buses 75, 151. RER E (Pantin) 15 minutes away.
- Parking: Indigo Cité de la Musique car park beneath the park. Heavy congestion expected at the weekend (Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October). Public transport is preferable.
- Accommodation: the 19th arrondissement (immediately adjacent), the 10th (Gare du Nord and Gare de l'Est) and the 20th (Belleville). Booking 2 to 3 months ahead is recommended, as an October weekend is already busy in Paris.
- Visitor admission:
- Full price: €13.
- Concession: €7 (students, under-18s, people with disabilities, groups of 10+, works councils).
- Free: under-12s and a carer for visitors with reduced mobility.
- Free invitation codes: numerous codes circulate via the media partners (Phototrend, 3DVF, Paris-Friendly). Check these sources before buying.
- Equipment trials: indoor areas (manufacturer stands) and outdoor areas in the Parc de la Villette, on presentation of an ID document.
- Services: cloakrooms, catering on site and within the Parc de la Villette, conference and demonstration spaces, and artist signings within the Zooms exhibitions.
What it costs to exhibit
Comexposium does not publish a public rate card for the Salon Photo & Vidéo. Participation terms are provided on direct commercial request from the dedicated Comexposium team. The variables affecting cost are stand size, location (proximity to the main stage, exhibitions or entrance), the level of fit-out and additional services (signage visibility, activities, exhibition partnerships).
A typical format for a major manufacturer: large demonstration stands (100 to 300 sq m) with equipment-trial areas, talk stages and integrated exhibitions. A typical format for a third-party optician or software publisher: 20 to 50 sq m stands focused on product demonstration.
Preparing your visit
For the exhibitor
- T-10 months (December 2025): make contact with Comexposium, select the stand format and location.
- T-6 months (April 2026): sign the contract, settle the stand activities (demos, talks, workshops).
- T-4 months (June 2026): finalise the scenography, coordinate the outdoor equipment trials with the organisation, brief the stand team.
- T-2 months (August 2026): communication campaign, client invitations, scheduling meetings with influencers and content creators (the 2026 video focus).
- T-1 month (September 2026): final logistical adjustments, training for the welcome team (including a briefing on visual inclusion and signage).
For the visitor
- Buy your ticket online or look for a free invitation code via Phototrend, 3DVF or Paris-Friendly before paying full price.
- Allow a full day to cover the 4 days of activities (1,000 sq m of exhibitions, manufacturer demonstrations, conferences, the Zooms du Salon).
- Thursday 8 or Friday 9: quieter days, ideal for in-depth equipment trials and conversations with exhibitors.
- Saturday 10 and Sunday 11: high attendance from families and enthusiasts, so plan tight slots for the popular demonstrations.
- Bring your own memory card to take away the images from the equipment trials.
Policy & CSR initiatives
A structured CSR approach was launched by Comexposium in 2025 for the show, now consolidated for the 2026 edition:
- No promotional goodies: an end to handing out free, non-useful items, to reduce post-event waste.
- Digital-only floor plan: paper plans removed, with access via QR codes and a mobile app.
- Fortnightly CSR committee with exhibitors, to share best practice and set collective targets.
- Responsible exhibitor guide: a reference made available to exhibitors to limit the footprint of their stand.
- Modular stands reducing the use of single-use plastics and encouraging reuse between editions.
- Circular economy: refurbishing exhibited equipment, hiring rather than buying for certain items.
Visual inclusion
The 2026 edition continues an inclusion focus begun in 2025:
- Photographic exhibitions adapted for the visually impaired in partnership with Canon "Canon World Unseen" and the Fédération des Aveugles et Amblyopes de France, including an "Images in relief" workshop.
- Training of the welcome staff by the Souffleurs d'Images, a service of the Souffleurs de Sens association (Groupe SOS Solidarités), to assist visually impaired and blind visitors.
- Adapted signage and a dedicated route on the show's floor plan.

Trajectory analysis
Created in 2007 under the name Salon de la Photo (first edition 3-7 October 2007, Hall 4, Porte de Versailles), the show reached its historic peak in 2013 with 85,526 visitors, driven by the democratisation of the digital SLR. The structural decline of the amateur photo market, competition from the smartphone and the maturity of the installed equipment base led to a gradual fall to 61,044 visitors in 2019, the last pre-Covid edition at Porte de Versailles. After the 2020-2021 interruption, the move to the Grande Halle de la Villette in 2022 (30,000 visitors) marked a complete repositioning: a tighter format, a more upmarket venue, outdoor equipment trials in the park, and a committed CSR and inclusion approach. The trajectory is now one of slow, controlled growth (30,000 → 36,823 → 37,188 visitors between 2022 and 2025), with an ambitious 2026 target via the Salon Photo & Vidéo rebranding: broadening the visitor base to video content creators, a fast-growing segment that is strategic for manufacturers (hybrid camera bodies). The show embraces a B2C, general-public identity, differentiated from Paris Photo (an art fair at the Grand Palais in November), with a strong editorial DNA around the Zooms du Salon (competition, media partners, Picto, the CP+ Yokohama partnership) that makes it the benchmark annual gathering for advanced amateurs in France.
