Agoris analysis · updated June 2026
Key takeaways
- Winter session of the Texworld Apparel Sourcing Paris cluster: Monday 25 to Wednesday 27 January 2027 at Paris-Le Bourget, halls 2, 3 and 4. It is positioned by the organiser on the Spring-Summer 2028 collections.
- Two co-located hubs in January: Texworld (fabrics and raw materials) and Apparel Sourcing (finished products and accessories). Avantex is held only at the September session: it is not on the programme for the January 2027 edition.
- 2027 marks Texworld's 30th anniversary. The organiser has announced two events at the Parc des Expositions de Paris-Le Bourget, from 25 to 27 January then from 6 to 8 September 2027 (Autumn-Winter 2028-2029 collections), with specific anniversary activities at both sessions. The details of these activities have not been published to date.
- Organiser: Messe Frankfurt France, a subsidiary of the German Messe Frankfurt group, which acquired the Texworld brand in December 2001 to make it its international textile/apparel sourcing hub in Paris.
- Most recent edition held (59th edition, 31 August to 2 September 2026), according to the organiser's published report: 1,054 exhibitors including 146 first-time exhibitors, up to 35 countries represented. Attendance down on previous editions, hit by an early calendar slot and an uncertain political and economic context. Top 5 visitor countries: France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Spain and Germany.
- Strictly B2B trade show: free entry on presentation of proof of professional activity, prior online registration, badge shown directly on mobile at the entrance.
- Trend book: Autopsy (Autumn-Winter 2027-2028 collections) was presented at the September 2026 session. The one for the January 2027 session, which will cover Spring-Summer 2028, has not yet been unveiled.
- Structuring programme: Trend Forums, conferences and round tables at the Agora, Econogy Finder, Small Quantity and Handmade visit routes, the Initiatives space.
Who exhibits
Typical profile
Texworld Apparel Sourcing Paris is the benchmark European event for Asian and Mediterranean textile and apparel sourcing. The cluster is held twice a year in Paris and brings together two co-located hubs at the January session, three at the September one:
- Texworld: fashion fabrics (cotton, drapery, embroidery and lace, jacquard, knitted fabrics, linen and hemp, prints, shirting, silk and silky finishes, sportswear and functional fabrics, wool and wool blends), trims and accessories, upstream in the value chain.
- Apparel Sourcing: garment-making and finished products (men's, women's and children's ready-to-wear, accessories, sportswear, lingerie, swimwear, uniforms, finished denim).
- Avantex (September session only): technical textiles, materials innovation, traceability, artificial intelligence, circularity and digital services for fashion. Run within the cluster since 2015.
Exhibitor profiles: spinners, weavers, knitters, OEM/ODM garment manufacturers, agents and sourcing offices, export federations (KOFOTI for South Korea, the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce for Turkey, Chinese, Indian and Pakistani pavilions). The September 2026 report describes major production hubs still strongly represented (China, India, Turkey, South Korea, Taiwan, Bangladesh, Pakistan) alongside a growing number of emerging or nearby countries: Bulgaria, Armenia, Estonia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, Myanmar and Ghana.
Benchmark figures
Report from the most recent edition held, 59th edition, 31 August to 2 September 2026:
- 1,054 exhibitors, including 146 first-time exhibitors, up to 35 countries represented.
- Once again, a balance between Texworld's materials offer and Apparel Sourcing's finished products offer, reflecting the reduction and fragmentation of raw material orders among principals.
- Two new features: an Outdoor sector at the junction of the two hubs, bringing together around fifty exhibitors around technical fabrics and sportswear garment-making, and a Jewellery & Leather space (jewellery and leather accessories).
- Near Sourcing Hub announced ahead of the show: 250 sq m at the entrance to hall 3, developed with FourSource, around thirty Turkish, Serbian, Romanian and Portuguese companies expected on-site and in digital collections (not carried over in the official post-show report).
- The Avantex sector brought together around thirty exhibitors, notably French and British.
Benchmarks from previous editions:
- 58th edition, 2 to 4 February 2026: 1,100 exhibitors from 33 countries at close, including 591 at Texworld (18 countries) and more than 500 at Apparel Sourcing (25 countries).
- 57th edition, 15 to 17 September 2025: close to 1,300 manufacturers from more than 35 countries and more than 7,000 buyers, according to the organiser's report. This is the vintage reflected in the "2025 figures" block still displayed on the trade show's homepage.
Quality of the visitor base
- Strictly professional visitor base: purchasing and sourcing departments of brands and retailers, design studios, manufacturers, importers, textile distributors, sales agents and ready-to-wear and home textile principals.
- Free entry on presentation of proof of professional activity, prior online registration, paperless badge shown on mobile.
- A structurally majority international visitor base. In September 2026, the top 5 visitor countries remained concentrated on the European Union's major markets: France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Spain and Germany.
Activities and community
Trend Forum and trend books
The editorial heart of the trade show, the Trend Forum gives scenographic form to the season's trend book, signed at every edition by artistic directors Louis Gérin and Grégory Lamaud. It acts as a compass for buyers and design studios and feeds the selection of materials and garments presented across the hubs.
The three most recently published vintages:
- Nova Fabula, a sensory and visionary narrative for the Autumn-Winter 2026-2027 collections, presented from 15 to 17 September 2025.
- Very Middle Ages, a forward-looking Spring-Summer 2027 reading blending a medieval imaginary with technological anticipation, presented from 2 to 4 February 2026. It was articulated across four worlds: Digital Lordship, Nuclear Sorcery, Speculative Crusade and Data Inquisition.
- Autopsy, a forward-looking map for Autumn-Winter 2027-2028 built around 12 creative signals, presented from 31 August to 2 September 2026.
The trend book for the 25 to 27 January 2027 session, which will cover the Spring-Summer 2028 collections, has not yet been unveiled by the organiser.
Agora, conferences and workshops
A conference programme structured around the Agora, the central speaking space located in hall 2 alongside the Trend Forums and the service areas. Themes covered in September 2026: uses of artificial intelligence and sustainable transition, regenerative models, performance and sustainability in sportswear, the future of textile know-how, new expectations at work. Two formats featured at this edition: Texpertise Focus AI x SPOTT, devoted to AI applications across the textile value chain, and the Threading Circularity forum, run with the Fédération de la Mode Circulaire and TCBL around repair, extending product lifespans and micro-factories. The programme for the January 2027 session has not yet been published.
National pavilions and the Initiatives space
A historic feature of the trade show, the national pavilions structure geographic legibility: KOFOTI (Korea Federation of Textile Industries) for South Korea, the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce for Turkey, and Chinese, Indian and Pakistani institutional pavilions. On the Apparel Sourcing side, growing momentum from South-East Asian, Central Asian and Maghreb pavilions.
At the entrance to hall 4, the Initiatives space showcases value-added know-how through demonstrations by benchmark companies and fashion schools. It notably features the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce's trend forum, devoted to contemporary Turkish design, and that of the China Textile Innovation Center (CTIC) for Chinese manufacturers.
To make product research easier, the trade show organises several cross-cutting routes: Small Quantity (exhibitors selling in small quantities, useful for designers and capsule collections), Handmade (craftsmanship, embroidery, brocades, hand weaving) and Econogy Finder (exhibitors offering sustainable solutions).
Texpertise Econogy programme
Texworld Apparel Sourcing Paris is part of the Texpertise Econogy programme run by Messe Frankfurt across all its textile and apparel trade shows. Four structuring features:
- Econogy Hub: a physical space bringing together the featured initiatives, with experts who break down responsible production, circularity, recycling and textile impact.
- Econogy Talks: conferences at the Agora bringing together certifiers, industry experts and NGOs around solutions, best practices and the challenges of sustainability in fashion.
- Econogy Tour: a guided route of around one hour starting from the Econogy Hub, with a sustainability expert from the organiser.
- Econogy Finder: an online directory of sustainably produced textile suppliers, matched by signage on the stands concerned.

How much it costs to exhibit
Exhibitor rates are not published publicly. Quotes on request from Messe Frankfurt France via the dedicated forms on texworld-paris.fr.messefrankfurt.com and apparelsourcing-paris.fr.messefrankfurt.com. Several formulas traditionally coexist at Messe Frankfurt:
- Bare stand (space-only rental, with a dedicated technical service for exhibitors in raw space).
- Turnkey fitted stand (partitions, carpet, fascia, furniture, electricity).
- National pavilions: pricing negotiated via the sector federations (KOFOTI for South Korea, equivalents for China, India, Turkey and Pakistan).
- Avantex packages (STUDIO for samples and design studios, HUB with screen for demonstrations, ReSources for a village of at least three exhibitors), reserved for the September session.
One single published figure on the logistics side: the exhibitor car park C package at €70 including tax for three days. No stand rate is publicly disclosed to date.
Preparing your visit
For the exhibitor
- 12 months out: make contact with Messe Frankfurt France, choose your hub (Texworld materials, Apparel Sourcing garment-making, Avantex innovation for the September session).
- 9 months out: finalise the application, negotiate the national pavilion where applicable via the sector federation of origin.
- 6 months out: brief the stand contractor, apply for Econogy if you hold documented sustainability standards, align the Spring-Summer 2028 collection calendar for consistency with the January 2027 Trend Forum.
- 3 months out: team accreditations, scheduling of priority buyer meetings, trilingual sales materials (French, English, Mandarin for Asian exhibitors).
- 6 weeks out: specialist press activation, pre-scheduled visit plan.
For the decision-making visitor
- Early online pre-registration: entry is free for fashion professionals, on presentation of proof of professional activity, and the badge is shown on mobile.
- 3-day trade show: allow at least 1 full day to cover Texworld and Apparel Sourcing, 2 days recommended for multi-segment purchasing profiles. The September session requires half a day more with Avantex.
- Pace your visit around the Trend Forum (Spring-Summer 2028 trend reading for January 2027), then work through hub by hub: Texworld for materials, Apparel Sourcing for finished product.
- Use the routes signposted in advance: Econogy Finder for committed exhibitors, Small Quantity for small runs, Handmade for craftsmanship. Econogy buyers can book an Econogy Tour of around one hour.
CSR policy and initiatives
The Texpertise Econogy programme structures the CSR line of all of Messe Frankfurt's fashion and textile trade shows, including Texworld Apparel Sourcing Paris, which has been promoting this theme for more than fifteen years. Guiding principle: to highlight exhibitors committed to documented sustainability standards and to steer buyers via dedicated routes and on-stand signage.
The Econogy Talks conferences bring together certifiers, industry experts and NGOs around solutions, best practices and the challenges of sustainability in fashion. Messe Frankfurt's Texpertise network states it is committed to accelerating innovation and change in the textile sector to advance the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, and presents itself as a member of the United Nations network for fashion and conscious lifestyles.
On the ground, the September 2026 edition demonstrated this orientation within the offer itself: eco-responsible materials, circular and anti-waste solutions, traceability and value-chain optimisation tools on the Avantex sector. The Avantex Fashion Pitch 2026 award went to PigmentOCO for a supercritical CO2 dyeing technology for natural fibres, aimed at reducing water and chemical consumption, and its judges' favourite prize to IROONY, for an industrial platform turning agricultural biomass into cellulose pulp.

Trajectory analysis
Texworld was born in 1997 at the CNIT Paris-La Défense with 37 exhibitors and 970 visitors, as an Asia-oriented textile sourcing event. Its acquisition by Messe Frankfurt in December 2001 marked the industrial pivot: the German group integrated Texworld into its global portfolio of fashion and textile trade shows and gave it the international mobilisation capacity that structures today's cluster. The move to the Paris-Le Bourget Exhibition Centre in February 2007 offered the depth of halls needed to develop the cluster, then the renaming to Texworld Paris in 2010 consolidated its Parisian identity.
The last three editions trace a trajectory of consolidation under pressure. September 2025 had brought together close to 1,300 manufacturers and more than 7,000 buyers, February 2026 confirmed the critical mass with 1,100 exhibitors from 33 countries, then September 2026 marked a pullback to 1,054 exhibitors and lower attendance, which the organiser attributes to an early calendar slot and an uncertain political and economic environment. Messe Frankfurt France's stated response is not volumetric but structural: balancing the materials offer with the finished products offer, diversifying origins (Bulgaria, Armenia, Estonia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, Myanmar and Ghana now complement the historic hubs), strengthening near sourcing via the Near Sourcing Hub, and opening new product worlds with the Outdoor and Jewellery & Leather sectors.
The 25 to 27 January 2027 event opens the 30th-anniversary cycle for Texworld, with an autumn session moved to 6 to 8 September 2027, a date presented as more favourable to buyers' calendars. The trade show remains on two annual sessions, now January and September rather than February and September, and keeps the Texpertise Econogy grid (Hub, Talks, Tour, Finder) as CSR requirements rise among European principals. The positioning does not change: a Parisian sourcing platform for Asian and Mediterranean origins, extended by Central Asian, Maghreb and African pavilions on the garment-making side.
Unless otherwise stated, all factual data in this listing comes from the organiser's official website (texworld-paris.fr.messefrankfurt.com).
