Key takeaways
- The Rendez-vous des Transformations du Droit, known as "Transfodroit", is the annual congress of the legal professions that innovate: two days of conferences, workshops and pitches, alongside an exhibition space organised into five themed villages. The format is part congress, part trade show: admission is free, by registration, and the event takes place in person only.
- Next edition: the 10th, on Tuesday 24 and Wednesday 25 November 2026, from 9am to 6pm, at the Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie, Porte de la Villette, in Paris. Announced theme: "la Tech au service du collectif" ("tech in the service of the collective").
- Organiser: Legi Team, the company that publishes the Village de la Justice, a media outlet for the legal professions. Co-organiser: the association Open Law, le Droit Ouvert. Official website: transformations-droit.com.
- Annual frequency. The event continues the Village de la LegalTech, whose numbering it took over: the 4th edition was held under that name in 2019, the 5th under the current name in 2021 (no edition in 2020: the 5th, announced for 19 and 20 November 2020, then for 11 and 12 March 2021, was finally held in November 2021, presented by the organiser as the first congress in 18 months of pandemic).
- Latest results: more than 4,800 participants in 2025, including 600 exhibitors and speakers, and 160 conferences and workshops. For 2026, the organiser announces more than 80 exhibitors and 14 Top Sponsors, more than 200 speakers and 5,000 participants expected.
- Lawyers can count their attendance as continuing professional training, at 8 hours per day of actual attendance, i.e. up to 16 hours.
Who exhibits
Typical profile
The exhibition brings together the players of legal innovation, start-ups and established companies alike, spread across five villages: Legaltech, Compliance and Regtech, Legal design, Public innovators and TransfoTax. The LegalTech Village, celebrating its 10th edition, presents new digital solutions alongside the historic players. The Compliance Village deals with GDPR compliance, whistleblowers, CSR, ethics and governance. The Public Innovators Village, opened in 2021, brings together the digital transformation projects of the public service with those of the legal and accounting professions. TransfoTax, launched in 2025, is devoted to the transformation of taxation.
Artificial intelligence plays a central role. The 14 Top Sponsors 2026 include several vendors that present themselves on their exhibitor page as legal AI solutions, including Harvey, Legora, Doctrine and Ordalie, alongside legal publishers and software vendors for legal professionals.
Notable exhibitors
The site's Partners and Exhibitors page is presented as the one for the 2026 edition. As of 3 October 2026, the 14 Top Sponsors 2026, each identified as such on its exhibitor page, are DiliTrust, Doctrine, Docusign, Gino LegalTech, Harvey, Jimini AI, Lefebvre Dalloz, Legora, LexisNexis, Lexroom, Ordalie, Septeo, Tomorro and Wolters Kluwer. EQS Group, Lamy Liaisons, Mister IA and Xelians - Izikap appear there as Key Sponsors.
On the institutional side, the Ministry of Justice is among the 2026 exhibitors (stand 101) and, according to the event website, will run a programme of workshops and conferences on public sector innovations. The same page also lists among the exhibitors the Conseil national des barreaux, the AFJE (Association française des juristes d'entreprise), the DILA (Légifrance) and Infogreffe, as well as the Paris Bar as a conference partner.
Most exhibitor pages already give the stand number and level. The map of stands and rooms is announced on the event's mobile site, activated from the first morning of the congress.
Visitor quality
The audience brings together legal practitioners and players from the legaltech ecosystem. According to the breakdown published by the organiser for 2025, the 4,800 participants included 17% lawyers, 16% legal counsel and 16% heads of legal, 20% legaltech or legal design entrepreneurs, 9% students, 6% consultants, 6% support, information systems and knowledge management functions, 3% trainers and academics and 3% Legal Operations managers. Judges and prosecutors, notaries, court officers (commissaires de justice), chartered accountants, paralegals, developers and investors complete the picture. This total includes the 600 exhibitors and speakers.
The audience is primarily from the Paris region: 73% of participants came from Île-de-France, 20% from the regions and 7% from abroad. The survey of 2025 participants (217 responses) shows visits that are often long: 49% of respondents stayed for a full day, 34% for both days and 17% for less than a day. Nearly three quarters came to find out about or train on a specific topic, and about 40% to find solutions for their business.
No third-party audit of attendance is published: the figures are the organiser's own, counting participants, visitors, exhibitors and speakers together.
Programme & community
Conference programme
The 2026 edition is placed under the theme "la Tech au service du collectif" ("tech in the service of the collective"), broken down into two guiding threads, "Construisons les moyens de notre souveraineté" ("Let us build the means of our sovereignty") and "Crantons les bénéfices de l'IA au niveau collectif" ("Let us lock in the benefits of AI at the collective level"), complemented by a focus on legal design. Announced new feature: the design of transformation and innovation in law takes the form of a dedicated track.
Tracks by profession are planned: a "Lawyers" track with the Paris Bar on Wednesday 25 November, a "Legal counsel" track with the AFJE and a TaxTech track on Tuesday 24 November. The skills tracks also return: by scanning QR codes after conferences or demonstrations on stands, participants accumulate experience points and earn a digital badge. When the scheme was launched in 2024, nearly 300 participants followed it and nearly 100 earned at least one skills certificate.
The detailed conference programme could not yet be viewed on the website at the time of writing: the organiser announced it as nearly finalised in October. As a point of reference, the 2025 edition, themed "l'IA à la main de l'Humain" ("AI in human hands"), offered 160 conferences and workshops.
Competitions and prizes
For its tenth anniversary, the congress is launching a poster competition, "Transformons le droit !" ("Let's transform the law!"), open to any person or team behind an initiative linked to the transformation of the law: research work, educational or student projects, projects run in companies, administrations, courts or associations. Applications are accepted until 31 October 2026. A maximum of fifteen posters will be shortlisted, displayed at the Cité des sciences for the two days, then published on the Village de la Justice. A jury of academics, Top Sponsors and the Open Law board will award three prizes: the Prix de l'Intérêt général (public interest prize), the Prix de l'Innovation (innovation prize) and a "coup de cœur" (favourite) prize awarded by Open Law.
The TechnoDroit, an innovative projects competition designed as part of the university diploma in Digital Transformation of Law and Legaltech at Université Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas, has been associated with the congress since 2021. Its 8th edition will be held at the Cité des sciences on Wednesday 25 November 2026 from 2.30pm, open to students, young professionals and hybrid profiles.
Community & networks
The congress draws on two communities. Open Law, le Droit Ouvert is an association under the 1901 law that describes itself as a collaborative workspace and testing ground for legal players, whose actions result in shared resources: reference frameworks, white papers, specifications, open source developments. The Village de la Justice, published by Legi Team, is a media outlet devoted to the legal professions: it published the report on the 2025 edition and will publish the posters selected in 2026.
The partners listed for 2026 include the Cercle Montesquieu, the CLOC, France Digitale (Legaltech group), Flit Network and "Osez l'IA", the DGE's national plan launched in July 2025 to spread artificial intelligence across businesses, in particular SMEs and mid-sized companies. Participating networks include the Association nationale des juristes territoriaux, the ALOF (Association Legal Ops Francophone) and the MEDEF; on the design side, the École de design Nantes Atlantique and the École nationale supérieure de création industrielle are also among the announced speakers.
On the media side, the partners page names LJA Magazine, On Dit Les Choses and Daria décrypte l'IA, in addition to the Village de la Justice.
On site: what you need to know
The congress occupies three levels of the Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie, 30 avenue Corentin Cariou, in the 19th arrondissement of Paris. Entry is at level -1, where the reception desk run by the Village de la Justice and Open Law is located. This is the third consecutive edition at La Villette, after three editions at the Palais des Congrès de Paris from 2021 to 2023.
By public transport, Porte de la Villette station is served by metro line 7, tram T3b and buses 139, 150 and 152. By car, leave the ring road (périphérique) at the Porte de la Villette; the paid car park is reached via the quai de la Charente and the boulevard Macdonald. From the tram platform and the bus stops, a ramp gives direct access for people with reduced mobility, and lifts serve the three levels of the congress.
The exhibition space, conferences and workshops are open from 9am to 6pm on both days. The badge, sent by email in November, can be printed or shown on a smartphone; registration remains possible on site, free of charge. On site: free cloakroom, wifi, coffee areas, a short-stay workspace, and lunch buffets offered by exhibitors from 12.30pm to 1.30pm, to be found on the map and in the programme. During the congress, the event website switches to a mobile version, with the map of stands and rooms, an up-to-date programme and badge scanning between participants.
For lawyers, the continuing professional training certificate requires scanning a QR code at the Village de la Justice stand, facing the entrance, then requesting it after the congress. Finally, the organiser advises booking accommodation early, as heavy attendance is expected.

Preparing your visit
For the exhibitor
- Ask the organisers about including your stand in a skills track: in 2025, the track devoted to legal AI required at least four demonstrations on exhibitor stands to earn the badge, and the stands concerned were listed in the track description.
- Aim for a workshop or pitch slot: conferences and workshops were the participants' first reason for satisfaction in 2025.
- Tailor your message to the day: "Legal counsel" and TaxTech tracks on Tuesday 24, "Lawyers" track on Wednesday 25.
- Prepare for badge scanning: each badge carries a QR code that the exhibitor can scan with the visitor's consent, which passes on name, company, job title and email. Processing of this data is then the exhibitor's responsibility, not the organiser's.
- Consider a lunch: each day between 12.30pm and 1.30pm, exhibitors invite participants to a buffet on site, shown on the map and in the programme.
For the decision-making visitor
- Choose your day according to your profession: legal counsel and tax specialists on Tuesday, lawyers on Wednesday, based on the announced tracks.
- Prepare a list of tools to compare: several legal AI vendors exhibit on the same days, which makes it possible to compare their demonstrations.
- Lawyers: scan the QR code at the entrance for the continuing professional training certificate, up to 16 hours over the two days.
- Print your badge or keep it on your smartphone to avoid queuing: in 2025, a partial strike by security staff slowed entry.
- If travelling from outside the Paris region, book accommodation early; the Villette district has several hotels, and the metro and tram lines widen the choice.
CSR policy & initiatives
The congress website has no section on CSR, and no carbon assessment of the event or ISO 20121 certification is published. The organiser, Legi Team, does however publish a CSR charter (first version, March 2023), one part of which concerns its events activity: since 2019, awareness-raising and selection of service providers; simplification and reuse of goodies and communication materials; removal of the congress's printed guide (3,000 copies) in favour of a digital version optimised for mobile; reuse of certain stand materials, or even of the stands themselves, from one event to the next. The charter adds that the venues and caterers chosen have their own CSR policies. Open Law does not display a CSR policy on its website; its charter does, however, state that the association seeks to respect and promote the principle of non-discrimination in its activities and in the make-up of its governance bodies. The environmental question also features in the content: the presentation of the 2026 edition examines levers to reduce the carbon footprint of AI in the legal economy, and the Compliance Village includes CSR among its topics.
The congress takes place in person only, in a venue served by the metro, tram and bus; 73% of 2025 participants came from Île-de-France, 20% from the regions and 7% from abroad. The pre-registration form asks everyone for their mode of travel (public transport, car or two-wheeler, plane or other), but no data on this is published.
On the social side, admission is free for everyone, students included, accessibility for people with reduced mobility is documented on the practical information page, and training is at the heart of the event, through certificates for lawyers and skills badges.
The venue provides a documented framework. Universcience, to which the Cité des sciences et de l'industrie belongs, publishes a social responsibility approach with an objective of decarbonising its activities towards carbon neutrality, a mobility plan being put in place and the Afnor Égalité label, renewed in 2022. Its Centre des Congrès de la Villette, located within the Cité, is moreover certified ISO 20121 (the international standard for responsible events) since 2022, with the certification renewed in July 2025; the congress website does not specify whether the event uses this centre. These commitments are the venue's, not the event's.

Trajectory analysis
Declared attendance has risen with every edition since 2021: 2,800 participants for the 2021 restart, more than 3,000 in 2022, 3,500 in 2023, 4,300 in 2024, 4,800 in 2025, and 5,000 expected in 2026. The sharpest jump coincides with the 2024 move from the Palais des Congrès to the Cité des sciences, and with the return to November after an October edition in 2023. These figures remain declarative and include exhibitors and speakers.
The content has followed the market. Born as the Village de la LegalTech, the event took its current name and widened its scope: public innovation since 2021, taxation since 2025, a track devoted to the design of law in 2026. Generative AI, which according to the organisers has accelerated the transformation of legal innovation since 2023, now structures the programming, and the 2026 press release itself cites the valuations of Harvey and Legora, two legal AI vendors that are among the Top Sponsors of the edition.
The organiser presents the event as the first congress in continental Europe devoted to the transformation of the legal professions. For a legaltech vendor, the appeal is twofold: meeting legal departments, lawyers and public sector players in two days, and appearing in a programme that also serves as a training framework for its audience.
The dates of the 2027 edition had not been announced at the time of writing.
