Agoris analysis · updated November 2026

Key takeaways

  • The International Multihull Show, also known under its French name Salon International du Multicoque, is devoted solely to catamarans and trimarans, sail and power, displayed afloat. It presents itself as the only international event that is 100% multihull.
  • The audience is mixed. The trade show is open to everyone with ticketing, and its organisers describe it as a B2B and B2C business meeting. No split between professional and private visitors is published: this profile is written for the exhibitor, whose customer is often a private buyer.
  • Next edition: the 18th, from Wednesday 21 to Sunday 25 April 2027, in La Grande-Motte (Hérault). The exact location, opening hours and visitor ticket prices for 2027 have not yet been published. The 2026 edition occupied the port, with three marinas and a village ashore.
  • Organiser: this is a trade show of the Fédération des Industries Nautiques (FIN), which owns it, organised by its subsidiary M2Organisation, taken over by the FIN in September 2023. Official website: multicoque-online.com.
  • Annual frequency, in April, in La Grande-Motte every year according to the official website. Created in 2010, the trade show first alternated between the Atlantic and the Mediterranean before settling in the Mediterranean in 2013. The 2020 and 2021 editions were cancelled.
  • 2026 edition results: 175 exhibitors, 82 multihulls including 19 powercats, and over 14,250 visitors from 50 countries, attendance down slightly by 5% according to the organisers.
  • Exhibitor registrations for 2027 have been open since late October 2026, according to the FIN announcement.

Who exhibits

Typical profile

The trade show works on two levels. Afloat, the stands are reserved for shipyards, which moor their catamarans and trimarans there. Ashore, the village hosts the rest of the industry, under a tent on the esplanade or the terrace, or in a fitted stand under the hall: equipment makers, sailmakers, engine makers, naval architects, charter companies, brokers, banks and insurers.

The 2026 directory shows how diverse the offering is. Its filter lists in particular 15 entries in deck hardware, 13 in electronics, 12 in sailmaking, 11 among engine makers, 10 in consulting, 9 in tenders, 9 in charter, 8 in cruising, 8 in maintenance, 7 in brokerage, 5 in financing and 5 among naval architects. According to the 2026 press kit, the 175 exhibitors came from 21 countries, and 30% of them from abroad.

Notable exhibitors

The 2027 list has not been published. The reference available is the 2026 exhibitor directory and the official programme of that edition, without presuming that they will return.

On the shipyard side, the 2026 edition notably brought together Lagoon, Fountaine Pajot, Leopard, Bali, Catana, Outremer, Nautitech, Excess, Neel-Trimarans, Rapido Trimarans and Windelo. Among the equipment makers and service providers were Harken, Karver Systems, Dometic, Yanmar, Vetus, North Sails, Quantum Sails, Selden Mast, Dessalator, Pantaenius, CGI Finance, Crédit Mutuel and Dream Yacht.

The 2026 closing press release cites new models from shipyards on several continents: Adventure Yachts (Thailand), Aquila (China), Aventura (Tunisia), Earthling (Australia), Leopard (South Africa), McConaghy (China), Rapido (Vietnam), Simbad (Spain) and Trimarine Composites (Portugal), alongside the French ORC and Outremer.

Quality of the audience

The organiser targets four audiences: owners, future buyers, boating professionals and charter operators. The most useful figure for an exhibitor comes from the 2025 visitor survey, reproduced in the 2026 commercial brochure: 61% of respondents reported a purchase project, 30% of them within a year, and 88% practised a boating activity. The previous brochure gave 45% and 85% for the 2024 survey.

The trade show is highly international. Foreign visitors made up 55% of the total in 2025. The brochures break them down between Northern Europe (54%), the Americas (21%), Southern Europe (17%), Africa and the Middle East (8%), with the same proportions for the 2024 and 2025 surveys. The 2024 review also describes a precise rhythm: foreigners are by far the majority on weekdays, English is the language of the pontoons, and the weekend brings back a more local and national public.

After the 2026 edition, 90% of exhibitors said they were satisfied with the quality of the visitors, 34% of them very satisfied. These figures are the organiser's own: the website mentions no OJS certification or third-party audit of attendance.

Events & community

Conference programme

The trade show is not built around a conference cycle: its highlights are the boat presentations. In 2026, the schedule announced in the press kit included the opening with the mayor of La Grande-Motte, shipyard press conferences (Outremer, Leopard, Windelo, Excess, Lagoon), a meeting on the modernisation of ports organised by Midi Libre and an exhibitors' evening on the Saturday. The practical point for an exhibitor is that including their press conferences in the trade show schedule is part of the fixed fees in the 2026 price list.

The 2027 programme has not been published. The 2026 closing press release states that the trade show plans to introduce a guest country at each future edition; no country has been announced for 2027.

Multihull of the Year

Launched in 2018 by Multicoques Mag, this election rewards new multihulls through a community vote. The 2026 edition had 36 nominees across six categories, three sail and three power, with the results due to be announced on the opening day of the trade show. The 2026 programme also mentions the International Multihull Show Premiere prize, which a jury was to award to one of the new models presented.

Multihull Design & Innovation

Located in the heart of the area ashore, this space brings together naval architects, designers, start-ups and equipment makers who present projects and inventions. It is the natural entry point for a young company with no boat to moor. A specific registration form is due to go online shortly for 2027.

Community & networks

The official partners listed are the Occitanie Region and the Town of La Grande-Motte, with the Groupe GRIM as mobility partner and Pantaenius for the Multihull Lounge. The website does not say whether this list already applies to 2027. The trade show has been a member of the IFBSO, the international federation of boat show organisers, since 2025. The FIN also owns the Cannes Yachting Festival, whose operation, according to its April 2024 press release, is entrusted to RX France.

On the press side, 80 journalists were accredited in 2025. The media partners listed include Multicoques Mag, Voiles et Voiliers, Skippers, Yachting World and Motor Boat & Yachting.

On site: what you need to know

The official website states only La Grande-Motte (34) for 2027. The 2026 edition was held in the port, across three marinas: the historic marina, the Quai des Douanes marina and a new marina facing the harbour master's office. The entrance had been moved to the town side, at the harbour master's office, because of the modernisation works begun in the western part of the port in early 2026. The layout chosen for 2027 has not been described: ask M2Organisation before choosing a location.

By air, Montpellier-Méditerranée airport is 10 km away and Nîmes-Arles-Camargue airport 35 km. By train, the Montpellier TGV station is 21 km away: from the Sud de France station, bus 606 reaches the Grande Pyramide - Port stop in about 30 minutes, and from the Saint-Roch station, tram line 1 followed by bus 606 takes about an hour. By car, leave the A9 at exit 26 from the east or north, and at exit 29 from the west.

In 2026, Totoom ran paid shuttles from Montpellier (€12 per seat, 12 round trips a day) and free electric shuttles between the trade show entrance and the Pasino, every 20 minutes. The practical information page keeps the description of these shuttles as it stood in 2026, with no timetable or confirmation for 2027, and the parking plan is still announced as forthcoming.

As a benchmark, the 2026 edition was open from 10am to 7pm Wednesday to Saturday and from 10am to 5pm on Sunday. Entry cost €15, the 5-day pass €40 and the Pass Privilège for two people €120, with free entry for under-16s and students. Ticketing for 2027 is due to open in 2027. Pets are allowed, but no luggage storage is provided.

How much it costs to exhibit

This price list is M2Organisation's official 2026 price list, in euros excluding VAT. The 2027 price list was not online on 30 October 2026: the Become an exhibitor page announces the presentation and the offer “online in autumn 2026”, and the only pricing document published by the organiser is the 2026 one. The amounts should therefore be reconfirmed before any decision for the April 2027 edition.

Preparing your visit

For the exhibitor

  • Apply early: new exhibitors go through the 2027 application form, while previous exhibitors receive their login details by email in the autumn. Contact: info@m2organisation.com.
  • Note that on 30 October 2026, the application button on the Become an exhibitor page still pointed to the 2026 edition space: use the link above.
  • Plan for the second phase: the exhibitor portal opens in early 2027 for fit-out, logistics, badges and parking.
  • Ask for the 2027 layout plan before choosing between esplanade, terrace and hall: the only plan available is still the 2026 one.
  • For a boat presentation, book a press conference slot and prepare an appointment system: the organiser refers visitors to the shipyards to arrange their visits on board.
  • Size the team to the rhythm of the trade show: foreign and English-speaking buyers on weekdays, a more local public at the weekend, according to the 2024 review.

For the decision-making visitor

  • Contact the shipyards before the trade show to arrange visits on board, as the official FAQ recommends.
  • Come on a weekday to meet the international clientele and industry professionals.
  • Browse the exhibitor directory beforehand, which still showed the 2026 edition on 30 October 2026: the offering covers purchase as well as financing, insurance and charter.
  • Wait for the 2027 prices and parking plan to be published before finalising logistics.

Policy & CSR initiatives

The trade show's content is strongly oriented towards the energy transition. The 2025 review counted 8 catamarans with hybrid engines and 3 with 100% electric engines, as well as suppliers of electric propulsion, hydrogenerators and wind turbines. This is an exhibition theme, to be distinguished from a commitment by the organiser.

On the latter point, the trade show's website has no CSR section, publishes no carbon footprint assessment and mentions no ISO 20121 certification. The most concrete measure it documents concerns transport: the free 100% electric shuttles introduced in 2026.

The most structured programme is that of the owner federation. The FIN presents APER as the world's first recreational boat dismantling chain, which it created, and also mentions PYRéO for pyrotechnic devices and its work on boat life-cycle analysis. It has also led the Bateau Bleu operation since 2023, which aims to encourage good practice among boating professionals and leisure boaters in the Mediterranean.

On the territory side, the mayor of La Grande-Motte states in the 2026 programme that the town has obtained the Green Destinations label for sustainable tourism. This label applies to the destination, not to the trade show.

Trajectory analysis

The fleet is the clearest thread: 50 multihulls in Lorient in 2010, over 65 in 2022, 73 in 2025, then the record of 82 in 2026. The power segment accounts for a good part of this rise, with a dedicated marina created in 2025, 15 boats that year and 19 the following year. In January 2026 the FIN estimated that power catamarans accounted for 25% of multihull sales.

The other signals are more nuanced. The number of exhibitors rose from 160 in 2024 to 175 in 2025, then stayed at 175 in 2026. That same year, attendance fell by 5%, a fall offset according to the organisers by a record level of international visitors. And 81% of 2026 exhibitors plan to return in 2027, whereas 96% of 2025 exhibitors planned to take part in the following edition, as did those of 2024 according to the previous brochure: two surveys whose method is not published, so a trend to watch without drawing conclusions from it. It is true that the 2026 edition combined a new route, a new entrance and works in the port.

Governance has also changed. The FIN, already a supporter of the trade show since 2017, acquired M2Organisation in September 2023, and the team was renewed in early 2026, with Anaïs David as show commissioner and Guillaume Verbrugghe heading M2Organisation. The anchoring remains clear: since 2013, the trade show has not left the Mediterranean, and the Occitanie Region, an official partner, presents it as a tool serving its boating industry, alongside the 2024-2027 Boating industries and services sector contract.

A note on numbering: the official number, 18th in 2027, appears to include the two cancelled editions, since 2019 celebrated ten years and 2024 was already the 15th. Fifteen editions have actually been held from 2010 to 2026.
