Agoris analysis · updated October 2026

Key takeaways

  • Mobco 2027 takes place on Wednesday 31 March and Thursday 1 April 2027 at the Parc Expo de Saint-Étienne. It is the second edition of Mobco and its first held in a regional city, after a first edition in Paris in 2026.
  • Mobco was formed by the merger of European Mobility Expo (EuMo Expo, formerly the Transports Publics trade show) and the Rencontres nationales du transport public (RNTP): in 2026, the GART and the UTPF brought their two events together as a single trade show and congress.
  • It is organised by the GIE Objectif Transport Public, a body created by the GART (Groupement des autorités responsables de transport) and the UTPF (Union des Transports Publics et Ferroviaires).
  • Annual rhythm, alternating: Paris in even-numbered years, a regional city in odd-numbered years. Official website: mobco-expo.com.
  • Announced for 2027: more than 8,000 participants and more than 200 exhibitors across more than 15,000 m². Results of the 2026 edition in Paris: more than 10,000 participants and 232 exhibitors.

Where Mobco comes from

The Transports Publics trade show, organised in Paris by the GIE Objectif Transport Public, took the name European Mobility Expo in the run-up to its 2020 edition (source: European Mobility Expo 2020 brochure, gart.org). The 2024 edition of EuMo Expo was held exceptionally in Strasbourg, from 1 to 3 October 2024, to anticipate the constraints of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in the Île-de-France region (source: GIE Objectif Transport Public press release, April 2023). In parallel, the GART and the UTPF ran their congress, the Rencontres nationales du transport public, whose last edition took place from 4 to 6 November 2025 at the CO'Met exhibition centre in Orléans.

In 2026, the two events merged to create Mobco. The first edition was held from 9 to 11 June 2026 at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, Hall 4. To launch Mobco in the regions, the GART and the UTPF chose Saint-Étienne, where France's first railway line was inaugurated in 1827 and where the country's first tramway ran in 1881.

Who exhibits

Typical profile

The offer is broad and covers the whole sector: organising authorities and local authorities, ticketing and electronic payment, street furniture, design, urban planning and accessibility, energy, civil engineering and signalling, manufacturers, builders and subcontractors (rail, bus, road, active travel, cable transport), engineering, public works and infrastructure, institutions and associations, ITS, maintenance, mobility operators, SAEIV (operations and passenger information support systems), security and safety, consulting firms, parking, digital technologies and passenger information. The 2027 brochure lists urban logistics, long-distance mobility (regional trains, high-speed trains) and cable transport as new sectors.

Two exhibiting formats are offered for 2027: a fitted stand of 9 to 54 m² or a bare space from 55 m². Indoor and outdoor areas accommodate static or rolling equipment.

The list of 2027 exhibitors, updated regularly, is published at mobco-expo.com/exposants-2027. It includes Alstom, Hitachi Rail, Systra, SNCF Gares & Connexions, Flowbird and UGAP. In 2026, a start-up area brought together around a dozen innovative companies and an active mobility area was run by the Réseau vélo et marche.

Activities & community

Conference programme

For 2027, the organiser announces more than 50 conferences run by the GART and the UTPF, open to all, exhibitor pitches on two Grandes Scènes, an after-work evening and "hors-les-murs" technical visits to discover the Saint-Étienne Métropole transport network. The detailed 2027 programme has not yet been published.

In 2026, for reference, the congress brought together 18 conferences over three days (social inclusion, climate change, opening to competition, industrial sovereignty, military mobility, urban logistics), more than 150 events and activities within the show, more than 100 speakers and more than 600 business meetings.

Awards and accolades

The Grands Prix Mobco return in 2027: the Prix Territoire Pionnier, the Prix de la Personnalité and a prize for the best communication campaigns.

In 2026, six prizes were awarded: four Grands Prix Innovation (one per category: "Transition énergétique et environnement", "Service aux exploitants", "Service aux voyageurs" and "Aménagement et accessibilité"), the Prix Territoire Pionnier, which rewards an organising authority / operator pairing, and the Prix de la Personnalité de l'année. The 2026 edition also hosted the Bus d'Or 2026, the UTPF's national competition for the best bus driver (10 winners).

Community and networks

Mobco draws on the two leading networks of French public mobility. The GART, founded in 1980, is the association of local authorities working to develop public transport and alternatives to the private car. The UTPF is the professional organisation of urban public transport, rail companies and infrastructure managers, with nearly 200 members. The GIE Objectif Transport Public, created in 2005 by the two organisations, also runs the Rentrée du transport public.

Trajectory analysis

Mobco brings together under a single banner the sector's two historic events: the trade show, long known as Transports Publics and then European Mobility Expo, and the congress of the Rencontres nationales du transport public. The first edition, in Paris in June 2026, attracted more than 10,000 participants and 232 exhibitors. The 2027 edition launches the alternation with the regions: shorter (two days instead of three) and announced on a smaller scale (more than 8,000 participants, more than 200 exhibitors), it takes place in a city with a pioneering railway and tramway past. The format provides for a return to Paris in even-numbered years.
