Key takeaways
- The Mondial du Fromage et des Produits Laitiers is the biennial professional trade show for the cheese and dairy industry, held in Tours: cheese maturers (affineurs), producers, dairies, distributors and equipment makers meet cheesemongers, traders and retail buyers.
- Next edition, the 8th: from Sunday 12 to Tuesday 14 September 2027, at the Parc des Expositions de Tours. The 2027 opening hours have not yet been announced.
- Organiser: SPL Tours Événements, a local public company that also operates the Parc Expo. No co-organiser.
- Biennial, in odd-numbered years, since the trade show was created in 2013.
- Results of the latest edition, 14 to 16 September 2025: 213 exhibitors, 15% of them new, 4,349 trade visitors (+19% compared with 2023), 29.3% international visitors, 60 countries represented.
- Free entry, strictly reserved for industry professionals. The visitor badge request link is not yet displayed on the website; the visitor contact is on the contacts page. Registration for 2027 exhibitors is open.
- Not to be confused with the Salon du Fromage et des Produits Laitiers, organised in Paris by Comexposium: despite a similar name, it is a different trade show, with a different organiser and a different calendar.
Who exhibits
Typical profile
The 2025 press kit broke down the offer as follows before the opening: 45% producers, 16% cheese maturers, 10% equipment manufacturers, 8% distributors, 7% industry bodies, 5% dairy products (cooperatives, yoghurt, cream), 5% services to professionals and 4% delicatessen. It announced 2,400 m² of exhibition space.
The trade show therefore brings together two logics under one roof. On one side, cheese makers who come to sell their products to cheesemongers and buyers. On the other, equipment makers and service providers who sell to those same producers and retailers: packaging, cheese-shop equipment, refrigeration, logistics. According to Rodolphe Le Meunier, the show's expert adviser, the whole industry meets there, from the small market cheesemonger to the international industrial player. The organiser offers a collective pavilion format to pool logistics, signage and communication.
Notable exhibitors
The exhibitor list published to date is the 2025 one: no 2027 list is available. The names below are therefore those of the 2025 edition, without prejudging whether they will return.

Visitor quality
Of the 4,349 trade visitors in 2025, cheesemongers and cheese maturers account for 35.9%, trade, distribution and wholesaling for 16.2%, and production and processing industry for 8.5%: a little over 60% of attendance falls on the profiles that exhibitors come looking for.
The 2025 results mention the presence of the retail and catering chains Carrefour, Auchan, Leclerc, Aldi, Intermarché, Biocoop, Pomona and Transgourmet, as well as buyers and delegations from 60 countries, including a large British delegation and a Kazakh presence accompanied by the French and Kazakh ambassadors.
The distribution over time matters when staffing a stand: in 2025, Monday accounted for 47% of attendance and Tuesday for 16%, while, according to the results, Sunday was the most international day, with 37% international visitors. 20% of visitors came for several days, against 14% in 2023.
No OJS certification or third-party audit is published: these figures are the organiser's own. The 2027 brochure states, for the 2025 edition, that 9 exhibitors out of 10 leave with a positive outcome, without specifying the method.
Programme & community
The competitions
The competitions are what sets this trade show apart from a simple trade fair, and one of them is of direct interest to exhibitors.
The Concours International Produits (international products competition), organised in collaboration with the Guilde Internationale des Fromagers, has been open since 2023 to all professionals in the sector and no longer only to exhibitors. It accepts cheeses and dairy products containing at least 50% milk. In 2025, 1,985 products were presented to 320 international professionals, and a supreme jury of 12 judges crowned the Gruyère AOP Vieux from the Fromagerie la Côte-aux-Fées, in Switzerland. The 2027 calendar is published: registration from Monday 5 April to Friday 9 July 2027, sample reception from Monday 23 August to Thursday 9 September, competition on Sunday 12 September, Mondial final on Tuesday 14. Gold, silver and bronze medals are awarded from 90, 85 and 80 points out of 100, and may appear on packaging for 2 years after the announcement. Tours Événements has entrusted the running of the competition to the company Armonia.
The Concours Mondial du Meilleur Fromager, initiated in 2013 by Rodolphe Le Meunier, Meilleur Ouvrier de France and the show's expert adviser, brought together 18 candidates from 14 countries in 2025. American Emilia D'Albero won ahead of Frenchman Matthieu Thuillier and American Courtney Johnson, succeeding Vincent Philippe, the 2023 winner. The 2025 events were streamed live on the website.
Conference programme
The 2027 programme has not been published. The 2025 one, as published by the organiser, planned talks by industry organisations in a conference area of the Grand Hall: a masterclass by the Consorzio del Formaggio Parmigiano-Reggiano, a session on importing and exporting cheese organised with Rodolphe Le Meunier, a round table on Kazakhstan, a talk on camel milk, a presentation of the 5 Centre-Val de Loire AOPs by Anicap, an update on the cheesemongers' profession by the Fédération des Fromagers de France and a morning run by the Fondation Lait Cru. A gala evening was scheduled in the reception rooms of Tours Town Hall.
Community & networks
The partners page, which is undated, shows the City of Tours, Tours Métropole, the Fédération des Fromagers de France, the Guilde Internationale des Fromagers, Rodolphe Le Meunier's cheese company, the Villa Rabelais and Profession Fromager.
On the press side, the 2027 brochure reports 202 press mentions for the 2025 edition.
The general public does not attend the trade show. An outside-the-walls programme, designed by the Villa Rabelais under the Cité Internationale de la Gastronomie label, is intended for it in the town centre, without a professional badge but with registration through the Villa Rabelais: the page says the programme is yet to come.
On site: what you need to know
The trade show is announced at the Parc des Expositions de Tours, which the site calls Parc Expo Tours, rue Désiré Lecomte. In 2025, the published programme used the Grand Hall, with the products competition tastings in Hall A. The 2027 floor plan has not been published.
The 2027 opening hours are announced as to be communicated shortly. As a guide, the 2025 edition opened from 9am to 7pm on Sunday and Monday, and from 9am to 5pm on Tuesday.
By train, Tours is 55 minutes from Paris by TGV and 1h40 from Bordeaux. From Tours station, shuttle 83 serves the Parc Expo and Vallée du Cher stops, line 4 the Atlantes stop, and lines 3a and 3b the Atlantes and Duclos stops. From Saint-Pierre-des-Corps station, line 16 serves Parc Expo and Vallée du Cher. All Fil Bleu buses are accessible to people with reduced mobility.
By car, take exit 22 Saint-Avertin from Paris or Le Mans, or exit 21 Tours Centre from Poitiers, Bordeaux, Angers, Nantes, Vierzon or Clermont-Ferrand, then follow signs for Grand Hall - Parc Expo. Parking is free on avenues Jacques Duclos and Camille Chautemps, and secure bicycle parking is provided on site.

The collective pavilion offered by the organiser makes it possible to pool part of the logistics, signage and communication. The competition entry fee is €55 excl. VAT per product for a non-exhibitor. Stand rates to be requested from Tours Événements.
The 2027 exhibitor brochure and the application form are available from the exhibitor area. In the 2025 press kit, Rodolphe Le Meunier describes an event that is "human-scale, well organised, affordable" compared with other trade shows abroad: this is the opinion of its expert adviser, not a quantified comparison.
Preparing your visit
For exhibitors
- Apply early: the 2027 form is online, and the brochure offers spaces of 9, 18, 27, 36 m² or more.
- Note the deadlines for the products competition: registration between 5 April and 9 July 2027, samples to arrive between 23 August and 9 September. An exhibitor pays €40 excl. VAT per product, with no limit on the number of products entered.
- Size the team to the attendance curve: in 2025, Monday accounted for 47% of attendance and Tuesday for only 16%.
- Bring a sales rep comfortable with export: nearly one visitor in three came from abroad in 2025.
- For industry bodies and regional trade associations, consider the collective pavilion.
- Sales contact: Agnès Boileau, sales manager, contact details on the contacts page.
For decision-making visitors
- Follow the official website for the opening of the free badge request, not yet displayed to date: entry is reserved for industry professionals, and the visitor contact is on the contacts page.
- For sourcing, the appeal lies in the concentration of the offer: cheese maturers and French and foreign producers brought together on one floor.
- Tuesday 14 September 2027 is announced as the day of the Mondial final, according to the FAQ of the products competition: in 2025, Tuesday hosted the final of the products competition, a chance to spot the winners, whose results are published on the competition website after the competition.
- Check the opening hours before booking a return journey: the 2027 hours are not yet published, and Tuesday closed earlier in 2025.
CSR policy & initiatives
The trade show does not publish an environmental report of its own. The verifiable approach is that of its organiser, which also operates the venue: Tours Événements displays ISO 20121 certification since 2019 and mission-driven company status since 2021, with an independent mission committee.
Its published actions cover waste sorting across 10 streams, more than 1,700 LEDs installed at the Palais des Congrès and the Parc Expo, a carbon footprint assessment, a partnership with Fil Bleu to strengthen bus services, and the redistribution of unconsumed food to local charities.
That last point takes on particular meaning at a tasting show: in the 2025 press kit, the trade show's sales manager says she favours redistributing food, and puts the emphasis on welcoming secondary-school pupils, students and young professionals. No redistributed volume is published.

Trajectory analysis
Between 2023 and 2025, trade visitors rose by 19%, exhibitors by about 5%, and products entered in the competition by 31%. The trade show is therefore growing faster in audience and competition profile than in number of stands, which works in exhibitors' favour: about 20 visitors per exhibitor in 2025.
The clearest shift is international: 29.3% foreign visitors in 2025 against 20% in 2023. Opening the products competition to non-exhibitors, in 2023, also changed the calculation for a producer: they can now aim for a medal without taking a stand, for an entry fee only slightly higher.
The size remains modest, and that is what defines the trade show: a highly targeted event, on a single industry, where people come for a specific offer and clientele rather than for mass footfall.
To put it in context, the Salon du Fromage et des Produits Laitiers in Paris takes place in even-numbered years: the two events do not fall in the same year.
