Who exhibits

Typical profile

A world-leading trade show for every livestock sector: dairy and beef cattle, pigs, poultry, sheep, goats, rabbits, horses, aquaculture. The offering covers genetics, animal nutrition and feed, livestock buildings, animal health, milking equipment, agricultural machinery, energy, effluent treatment and organic farming. Exhibitor profile is predominantly industrial (equipment manufacturers, seed companies, animal health firms, cooperative groups) with a strong international component (30% of exhibitors in 2025, compared with 34 countries in 2024 and 40 countries in 2025).

Notable exhibitors

Official list of 2026 exhibitors at space.fr; the 2027 list is not yet published. 1,019 exhibitors in 2026, a third of them international, 1,230 exhibitors in 2025, including 301 new entrants (25%).

Quality of the visitor base

100,107 visitors in 2026. 102,528 visitors in 2025, including 14,011 international visitors (+11%) from 125 countries (an all-time record for the number of nationalities). Decision-maker visitor base: livestock farmers, cooperative and trading company directors, vets, technicians and advisers, large-retail and agri-industry buyers, foreign delegations (Top Buyers programme: around 30 international buyers from 13 countries in 2025).

Activities & community

Conference programme

L'Espace pour Demain is the trade show's conference hub, featuring in 2025: 3 round tables and 18 expert workshops. The 2025 main theme was "Agricultural Intelligence" (AI applied to livestock farming). Recurring topics: food sovereignty, carbon footprint, adapting to climate change, the energy transition. Forum Jeunes (4th edition in 2025, new format), Tech'Agri Challenge (3rd edition, 7 student solutions in 2025), the first AGREEN DEFI AI hackathon launched in 2025. In 2026, L'Espace pour Demain focused on the topic of water. The 2027 programme has not yet been published.

Awards & accolades

Innov'Space is the trade show's official innovation label, created in 1995 (30th anniversary in 2025). Candidate products, equipment and services are assessed against two criteria: degree of interest for the farmer or end user, and degree of novelty compared with the existing offering. Official two-tier classification: "1 star" or "2 stars" for the winners, and "3 stars" for the jury's special mention.

2025 honours roll: 43 winners, including 7 "2 star" mentions and 2 "3 star" mentions. An all-time record for machinery, with 11 award-winning innovations in this sector. Over 30 years, Innov'Space has recognised 1,437 winners from nearly 3,500 entries submitted.

2026 honours roll: 32 winners selected from 78 entries, including 26 "1 star" and 6 "2 star" mentions, and 3 "3 star" mentions unveiled during the trade show (EMILY, IMV Technologies, RMH). Trends highlighted by the organiser: digital technology and artificial intelligence, machinery, animal health and biosecurity (2026 honours roll, special mentions).

Satellite events

Aquaculture: 120 dedicated stands in 2025, a sector in structural growth at SPACE. Animal presentations and genetic competitions: 700 animals in 2026 in hall 1, with cattle, sheep, goat and horse competitions. Job dating sessions (80+ positions on offer in 2025). International area dedicated to foreign delegations and the Top Buyers programme.

Community & networks

A structurally Breton and Greater West visitor base within the national target, but an openly global positioning via the international programme (125 nationalities in 2025, partnership with WTC Rennes Bretagne).

Partner specialist press: Réussir, La France Agricole, Web-agri, Paysan Breton, Filières Avicoles, PLM Magazine.

Looking back at the 2026 edition

The 40th edition took place from 15 to 17 September 2026. It was opened by Annie Genevard, Minister for Agriculture, Food and Food Sovereignty. The animals returned (700) with a full programme of presentations, and water was the theme of L'Espace pour Demain. Results published by the organiser: 100,107 visitors and 1,019 exhibitors, a third of them international (official results). The internal social tensions within the GIE reported by the press in 2025-2026 (cf. Réussir, "Is there a risk that SPACE may not take place in 2026?") did not prevent the edition from being held on the scheduled dates.

2027 edition: SPACE has announced its 41st edition, from 14 to 16 September 2027. The programme, exhibitors and Innov'Space honours roll for 2027 have not yet been published.

CSR policy & initiatives

SPACE positions itself as the first French agricultural trade show to have calculated its carbon footprint (source: "SPACE commits" page). A formalised carbon strategy makes it possible to identify the highest-emitting areas in organising the event and to guide reduction and offsetting actions.

Operational commitments in 2025:

  • Waste: 52% of collected waste is recycled, 16 sorting points, 760 kg of biowaste recovered through methanisation with GRDF.
  • Catering: 75% of restaurants serve regional produce, 100% French sourcing.
  • Plastics: reusable cups at all catering points since 2019.
  • Mobility: 10,000 people transported by the free shuttles in 2025, the SPACE car-sharing platform since 2023, bicycle parking at Gate C.

All of this is formalised in the Charter of commitment published on space.fr.

Trajectory analysis

A steady growth trajectory since the 1987 launch: SPACE has established itself as the European benchmark for livestock farming, ahead of EuroTier in Hanover on the multi-sector segments. The 2025 edition broke three records simultaneously (total visitors, international visitors, nationalities represented) amid sector tensions (food sovereignty, milk prices, bluetongue). The 2026 edition marked the trade show's 40th anniversary: attendance stable at 100,107 visitors according to the organiser, but 1,019 exhibitors compared with 1,230 in 2025. The internal social tensions within the GIE raised by the press in 2025-2026 (strikes, preparation delays raised by Réussir) did not prevent the edition from being held. The 41st edition has been announced for 14 to 16 September 2027. Didier Lucas's chairmanship since June 2025 marks a generational change at the head of the organisation.

Unless otherwise stated, all factual data in this listing comes from the organiser's official website (space.fr).
