Key facts
- The Salon du Fromage et des Produits Laitiers is the biennial trade show for the dairy and cheese industry: producers, maturers (affineurs), cooperatives, importers, distributors, cheesemongers and restaurateurs. The organiser presents it as the only professional event in France entirely devoted to milk and cheese.
- Next edition, the 20th: from Sunday 11 to Tuesday 13 June 2028, at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, from 9:30am to 6:30pm on all three days. Visitor ticketing is due to open in January 2028.
- Organiser: Comexposium, which places it in its SIAL Network. The trade show was founded in 1991 by the cheesemonger Alain Dubois, who served as its president; Comexposium announced his death on 29 June 2026.
- Biennial frequency, in even-numbered years. The 18th edition took place from 25 to 27 February 2024, alongside the Salon International de l'Agriculture; the 19th, from 7 to 9 June 2026, was the first held outside the agricultural calendar and at the same time as Gourmet Selection, the fine-food trade show from the same organiser.
- 2026 results: 270 exhibitors from 15 countries, 48% international companies, 33% new exhibitors and 7,600 professional visits.
- Strictly trade-only access: proof of professional activity is required at the entrance, and under-16s are not admitted, even when accompanied.
Who exhibits
Typical profile
The offer is organised into eight categories: French cheeses (including PDO and PGI), foreign cheeses (including PDO and PGI), butter, eggs and other dairy products, cheese accompaniments, machinery and equipment, trade and promotion bodies, press and publishing, services.
The core of the trade show remains the product: artisan and industrial cheesemakers, maturers, cooperatives and dairies, with a large foreign share (48% international companies in 2026). The 2026 sales brochure lists fifteen exhibiting countries for the 2024 edition: Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Spain, the United States, France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Sweden and Switzerland; the website also counts fifteen countries in 2026 without naming them. Around them are the industry's suppliers: machinery and equipment, packaging, services for distributors.
First-time exhibitors have a dedicated area, the Village Découverte, which brings together producers taking part for the first time, after their application is reviewed by the organising team.
Notable exhibitors
For the 2026 edition, the organiser listed among its registered exhibitors Agour, Isigny Sainte-Mère, Maison Bordier, Fromageries Arnaud, Marcel Petite, Onetik, Paccard, Wyke Farms, Snowdonia, Sainte-Godeleine, Lincet and Maison Carles. The 2026 sales brochure added Brazzale, Chimay, the Compagnie Fermière Rothschild, the Ferme Georgelet, the Fermiers Basco-Béarnais, the Fruitière d'Arbusigny, Treur Kaas, Spielhofer and Vernières Frères, among others. The Joseph Paccard house says it has exhibited there since 1996.
These names relate to 2026: no exhibitor list has been published for 2028. The 2026 exhibitor list remains available on the official website.
Visitor quality
The trade show is aimed at buyers in the industry: cheesemongers, delicatessens, large-scale retail, wholesalers, importers and exporters, restaurants and food service. According to the organiser, more than half of visitors are buyers or decision-makers, and 26% of 2026 visits came from international buyers.
The 2026 brochure lists buyers who attended in 2024, including Biocoop, Carrefour, Monoprix, La Grande Épicerie de Paris, Galeries Lafayette Gourmet and the Fromagerie Quatrehomme on the French side, and abroad Whole Foods Market, Wegmans, Marks & Spencer, Sainsbury's, Sligro Food Group and Esselunga.
Two schemes support buyers. The Top Acheteurs (Top Buyers) programme, by application, provides a free badge, access to the Business Lounge, targeted meetings scheduled through the Business Meetings programme and, in 2026, free access to Gourmet Selection. The business meetings service, free for any registered visitor, lets you schedule meetings in advance; in 2026, it covered the exhibitors of both simultaneous trade shows. No OJS certification of attendance is published.
Events and community
Conference programme
Conferences, round tables and tasting workshops are held at the Agora des Experts, with free entry subject to available seats. In 2026, the programme included a study on the place of PDO cheeses among cheesemongers, an economic review of the profession, a talk on digital marketing, an analysis of sector trends and a round table on cheesemaking dynamics. The 2028 programme has not been published.
Competitions
Three competitions run through the trade show. The Concours Coups de Cœur, a creation of the trade show since 2016, has a jury of professionals judge the products presented by exhibitors: organoleptic criteria for food, innovation, practicality and respect for the environment for equipment and services. It recognised 10 products in 2026 and 9 in 2024, out of 180 entries that year. Entering a product in the competition is free for exhibitors.
The Concours de la Lyre d'Or, organised by the Union des Fromagers d'Île-de-France, rewards the cheesemonger who creates the finest platter on a given theme. In 2026, twelve finalists competed over three rounds.
The Grilled Cheese Challenge, launched in 2024 and co-created with François Robin, Meilleur Ouvrier de France cheesemonger, pits contestants against each other, in a competition the trade show describes as international, around the melted cheese sandwich. Le Gruyère AOP and Switzerland Cheese Marketing were partners in 2026.
Community and networks
The trade show draws on the industry's organisations: the dairy trade body CNIEL, the CNAOL for PDO dairy products, the Fédération des Fromagers de France and its École Française du Fromage, the ENIL schools of Mamirolle and Poligny, and the Guilde Internationale des Fromagers. In 2026, Business France invited about ten buyers from North America, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Hong Kong for joint business meetings with Gourmet Selection.
On the press side, the media partners listed include Profession Fromager, Linéaires, Le Courrier du Fromager and L'Auvergnat de Paris.
Membership of the SIAL Network, presented by the organiser as the world's largest network of food and beverage trade shows, gives Top Acheteurs in particular the option of joining The SIAL Society, the network's international buyers' club.
On site: what you need to know
The trade show takes place at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, 1 place de la Porte de Versailles, 75015 Paris. In 2026, it occupied Pavilion 7.1; the hall for the 2028 edition has not yet been announced.
Public transport: metro line 12, Porte de Versailles station, and line 8, Balard station; trams T2 and T3a, Porte de Versailles stop; buses 80 (Porte de Versailles stop) and 39 (Desnouettes or Porte d'Issy stop). Because of works at the exhibition centre, the organiser says parking spaces are very limited.
Opening hours: 9:30am to 6:30pm on Sunday 11, Monday 12 and Tuesday 13 June 2028. Entry is restricted to professionals aged over 16, with proof of professional activity. In 2026, the visitor badge cost from €15 incl. VAT at the early-bird rate to €30 at the standard rate, and €60 if bought during the trade show; 2028 prices have not been published. The cloakroom is paid (€3 per coat, €4 per bag, €5 per suitcase), and suitcases and trolleys must be left there.
The halls are accessible to people with reduced mobility. The agency Bnetwork is the trade show's official accommodation provider.

Planning your visit
For exhibitors
- First-time exhibitors should aim for the Village Découverte: an all-inclusive package, refrigerated display case included, but only 18 spaces and selection on application by the organiser.
- Enter a product in the Concours Coups de Cœur: entry is free and, according to the organiser, the competition lets you showcase your expertise.
- Plan cold-chain logistics as soon as you book: electricity, display case and storage room are not included in the bare stand.
- Activate the business meetings service: in 2026, meeting requests opened from 29 April, a little over five weeks before the trade show, according to the service's page (published without a year).
For decision-maker visitors
- Apply to the Top Acheteurs programme if you are a buyer or decision-maker: free badge, Business Lounge, targeted meetings.
- Register early: in 2026, the badge went from €15 to €60 depending on the purchase date.
- Use the Coups de Cœur as a common thread: the award-winning products concentrate the edition's novelties.
- Travel by public transport, as parking around Porte de Versailles is very constrained.
CSR policy and initiatives
The trade show's website has no section on its own environmental commitments, and no ISO 20121 certification specific to the event is displayed. It does offer a tool, provided with ADEME, to calculate the carbon impact of your journey and choose the lowest-emission mode of transport. The Concours Coups de Cœur also includes respect for the environment among the judging criteria for non-food products.
The verifiable commitment sits at group level. Comexposium is rolling out a CSR strategy called ALL INvolved, structured around ten initiatives, including reducing the carbon footprint of its activities along a path aligned with the UFI's Net Zero Carbon Events initiative by 2050, and eco-designing events according to circular economy principles. In 2025, the group obtained the RSE Positive Company label, at the two-star level out of three.
The venue provides its own guarantee: Viparis, operator of Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, has been ISO 20121 certified across all its sites since 2014 and runs its Better Events policy to the 2030 horizon.

Trajectory analysis
The 2026 edition marks a break in the calendar. Until 2024, the trade show was held in late February, alongside the Salon International de l'Agriculture. Initially scheduled for 22 to 24 February 2026, the 19th edition was finally moved to June, to be held at the same time as Gourmet Selection and create a shared route around food retailers and fine foods.
The raw figures are down: 290 exhibitors and 8,500 professional visits in 2024, 270 exhibitors and 7,600 visits in 2026. No source explains this, but the decline coincides with the calendar break: in 2026, the trade show lost the proximity of the agricultural event in February. Conversely, the share of international companies rose from 40% in 2024 to 48% in 2026, and that of international buyers from 21% to 26%, which is in line with the business-platform positioning promoted by Comexposium.
The 2028 edition will be the first without its founder, and whether it will again run alongside Gourmet Selection remains open: the latter has announced an edition on 13 and 14 June 2027, and the Salon du Fromage website does not yet say whether the two trade shows will be brought together again in 2028.
