Key takeaways

  • Capr'Inov, the Salon International Caprin (international goat trade show), is the professional trade show for the whole goat sector: breeding, genetics, feed, buildings, milking, cheese processing and meat. The official website presents it as the only livestock show that brings together all the players of this sector in one place.
  • Next edition: the 11th, on Wednesday 17 and Thursday 18 November 2027 in Niort, at the Parc des Expositions de Niort-Noron. The day before, Tuesday 16 November, a day is devoted entirely to international visitors.
  • Organiser: Capr'Inov, a registered association created in 2006 and based at the Maison de l'agriculture, Les Ruralies, in Prahecq (Deux-Sèvres). No separate event operator is listed.
  • Held every two years, in odd-numbered years since 2021. The year 2026 is devoted to preparing the next edition.
  • Results of the 10th edition, on 26 and 27 November 2025: 210 exhibitors, a record according to the organiser, more than 8,300 visitors including nearly 1,000 young people in training, and 25 foreign delegations.

Who exhibits

Typical profile

The offer covers the upstream and downstream sides of goat farming: manufacturers of farm equipment and milking machines, feed manufacturers, genetics, building design, agricultural services, dairies and cheesemaking equipment. The 2025 exhibitor brochure highlights genetics with Capgènes, the national centre for semen production and a breeding organisation, present to showcase breeding schemes with its member farms.

According to the same brochure, 70% of exhibitors have been loyal to the show since 2014. Recent growth shows in the figures: 201 exhibitors and brands in 2023 according to the organisers quoted by Réussir La Chèvre, then 210 in 2025, a number that the results press release describes as never reached before, to the point of having to push back the walls of the exhibition centre.

Notable exhibitors

The official website does not publish a named list of exhibitors for 2027: registration, stand booking, badges and the exhibitor guide will go online when registration opens, announced for autumn 2026 on the Be an exhibitor page.

The partners shown on the home page give an idea of the ecosystem: the trade body Anicap, the Institut de l'Élevage (Idele), the Fédération nationale des éleveurs de chèvres (FNEC), the Nouvelle-Aquitaine chambers of agriculture, Capgènes, dairy cooperatives and groups such as Agrial, Terrena, Terra Lacta and Lactalis, as well as agricultural banks and insurers. These logos do not confirm attendance in 2027.

Visitor quality

The show is aimed at breeders, technicians, students and recommenders in the sector. The weight of young people is a hallmark: nearly 1,000 young people in training walked the aisles in 2025, including more than 400 pupils from agricultural colleges and secondary schools welcomed on the #EleveurCaprinDemain area.

The show is held in Europe's leading goat-farming region. According to the official website, Nouvelle-Aquitaine has more than 1,200 dairy goat farms and 300 farmhouse producers, and alone accounts for a third of the French goat economy; Deux-Sèvres is the leading département.

The international dimension is real: 25 delegations in 2025, coming in particular from China, South Africa, Canada, Benin, Uzbekistan, the Netherlands, Spain, Latvia, Greece and Lebanon. The attendance figures are the organiser's own, with no published third-party audit.

Programme & community

Conference programme

At each edition, the show announces around thirty technical conferences: farm succession and transfer, herd management, farm buildings, genetics, animal health, feed. In 2025, the Capr'I TV stage ran live debates throughout the two days on technical, economic and political subjects for the sector. The 2027 programme had not been published at the time of writing.

Technical areas and competitions

The 2025 edition was organised around themed areas: Capr'I Tech and its technical workshops, Capr'I Traite, Capr'I Connect, the goat in the digital age, Froma Tech, the cheesemaker's corner, the #EleveurCaprinDemain area devoted to farm start-up, and a Meat area with cutting demonstrations in partnership with Interbev Nouvelle-Aquitaine. These were complemented by presentations of rare goat breeds and genetics presentations.

Several competitions punctuate the show. The international competition for goat cheeses and dairy products and the international competition for processed goat meat products awarded 144 and 13 medals respectively in 2025. The Capr'I Cup, a challenge for agricultural educational institutions open to 15-25 year olds, brought together fourteen teams from eight agricultural colleges for its 3rd edition in 2025.

Visits and international welcome

The day before the show, a sector visit circuit takes breeders, students and technicians to farms and businesses in the region. For foreign visitors, the Capr'Inov by Aquitanima Tour International, set up with INTERCO Nouvelle-Aquitaine, offers a four-day, three-night stay with technical visits and interpreting support. In 2025, the day of visits ended with a business evening. At the show, the International Club serves as a business space for delegations.

Community & networks

The show was born in 2006 on the initiative of a group of goat breeders from Deux-Sèvres, who noted that the goat sector was poorly covered by the large livestock shows. It relies on volunteer breeders, mentioned by Réussir La Chèvre in 2023, alongside Anicap, Idele, FNEC and the chambers of agriculture.

On the press side, Réussir La Chèvre and Élevages Caprins Magazine are among the media partners shown. The show communicates on Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn and its YouTube channel.

On site: what you need to know

The show is held at the Parc des Expositions de Niort-Noron, 6 rue Archimède in Niort, across several halls: in 2025, traditional catering was in Hall 4, cold catering in Hall 3 and hot snacks in Hall 1.

By car, Niort is 1h30 from Nantes via the A83, 2h from Bordeaux and 4h from Paris via the A10. By train, Niort station is about 2h from Paris Montparnasse on the high-speed line. On site, public transport on the Tanlib network is free: bus line 1, Pythagore stop, then a walk to the exhibition centre.

For accommodation, the Niort Marais Poitevin tourist office, a partner of the show, offers a selection of hotels that can be booked online from the Catering and accommodation page of the website. The opening hours and admission prices for the 2027 edition have not yet been published.

How much it costs to exhibit

Capr'Inov does not publish an online price list for 2027: stand booking and technical services will be offered when registration opens. The amounts below are indicative orders of magnitude for a two-day regional livestock show. They are in no way Capr'Inov's official rates.
Poste de dépenseFourchette basseFourchette haute
Stand space in a hall (bare or fitted, indicative)€800€5,000
Technical services: furniture, electricity, equipment€300€2,000
Transport and installation of farming or milking equipment€300€3,000
On-site staff, accommodation and catering (2 days)€800€4,000
Communication, client invitations and materials€200€1,500
INDICATIVE TOTAL (2 days)~€2,400~€15,500

For an equipment manufacturer, transporting and setting up demonstration equipment often weighs more than the stand space. Rates to be requested from the show team via the Be an exhibitor page.

Preparing your visit

For exhibitors

  • Watch for the opening of registration, announced for autumn 2026: in 2025, the platform stayed open from 1 December 2024 to 15 September 2025, with dedicated access codes for exhibitors of the previous edition.
  • Position yourself on a technical area or a Capr'I Tech workshop: these are technical workshops run by experts of the sector.
  • Prepare to welcome the foreign delegations, who attend in numbers, and find out about the international business evening, held the day before the show in 2025.
  • Think about the student audience: nearly 1,000 young people in training are tomorrow's new farmers.

For decision-making visitors

  • Arrive as early as Tuesday 16 November for the sector visits or, for a foreign visitor, the Aquitanima Tour circuit.
  • Identify the technical conferences in advance: around thirty over two days.
  • Compare milking equipment, buildings, genetics and cheese-processing solutions in a single place, which few general trade shows allow for goats.

CSR policy & initiatives

The show's website has no Commitments or Sustainability section, and the organising association publishes neither a carbon footprint nor ISO 20121 certification. No environmental initiative specific to the Parc des Expositions de Niort-Noron is documented on the show's website.

The show's content does, however, address sustainability topics for the sector: the 2025 Capr'I Tech workshops focused on a goat house adapted to climate change, and the 2025 Capr'I TV stage covered animal welfare and climate change, according to the exhibitor brochure. The territorial anchoring is verifiable: Région Nouvelle-Aquitaine, Département des Deux-Sèvres and Niort Agglo are among the partners shown, and farm succession is a common thread of the programme.

Trajectory analysis

The curve is that of a niche show consolidating its base rather than changing scale: around 8,000 visitors in 2023, more than 8,300 in 2025, and the number of exhibitors up from 201 to 210, with the results press release mentioning walls pushed back to accommodate them. The 2023 edition was held under health constraints, with epizootic haemorrhagic disease limiting the presence of animals at the show.

The content evolves at each edition: Capr'I Traite in 2023, Froma Tech and Capr'I Connect in 2025, a hoof-trimming test added to the Capr'I Cup. The international side has become more structured with a turnkey stay that can be booked online, and the place given to young people in training positions the show as a venue for farm start-up and succession as much as for sales.

For a multi-species supplier, Capr'Inov complements the major livestock shows such as SPACE or the Sommet de l'Élevage, and is best read alongside Tech-Ovin for small ruminants: a narrower audience, but an entirely goat-focused one.
