Key takeaways
- La Levée de la Loire is the trade show for organic, biodynamic and natural wines of the Loire Valley. All wines presented must be certified organic (AB) or in their third year of conversion: this is the exhibitor admission rule, not a marketing claim.
- Organiser: Loire Vin Bio, a trade association created in January 2011 and based in Angers, which brings together around 270 members split into three colleges (winegrowers certified or in conversion on 100% of their surface area, and merchants and distributors achieving at least 50% of their volume in organic wine).
- Next edition: the 16th, on Monday 1 and Tuesday 2 February 2027, at the Parc des Expositions d'Angers, route de Paris, 49480 Verrières-en-Anjou. Opening hours: 9.30am-7pm on Monday, 9.30am-6pm on Tuesday.
- A second Paris date extends the show: Sunday 14 February 2027 at the New Cap Center, 3 quai de Grenelle, Paris 15th, from 9.30am to 6pm, a single day aimed at Paris-region buyers.
- Figures shown by the organiser: 484 exhibitors, more than 3,600 trade visitors and more than 136 appellations represented.
- A strictly trade-only event: wine merchants, restaurateurs, sommeliers, agents, importers, merchants and distributors. Visitor registration is free for accredited trade professionals, with a two-day pass available on site for €10.
- Since 2023, the show has been held in Angers on the same days and in the same venue as the Salon des Vins de Loire and the Salon des Vins Demeter, under the joint banner ALT' - Angers Loire dégus'T. The three shows remain separate events, each with its own organiser, admission rules and brand.
Who exhibits
Typical profile
The typical exhibitor is an independent Loire winegrower certified in organic farming, often committed beyond the organic specifications towards biodynamics or wines made without inputs. The admission rules are the backbone of the show: 100% of the estate's surface area must be committed to organic farming, either certified or in conversion, and the cuvées presented must be at least in their third year of conversion. A second college covers merchants and distributors, admitted as soon as at least half of their turnover is achieved in organic wine.
The scope is neither exclusively Loire-based nor exclusively viticultural: alongside the core base of Anjou, Saumur, Touraine and Muscadet, the exhibitor directory also features estates from Burgundy, Alsace, the Rhône, Bordeaux, Languedoc and Provence, as well as producers from abroad. Organic beers, ciders and spirits round out the offering for some exhibitors.
Notable exhibitors
The organiser publishes and updates the exhibitor directory on the official website. It is the show's most useful preparation tool: it can be filtered by trade (winegrower, merchant, other producers), by certification (AB, Demeter, Nature et Progrès), by appellation, by grape variety, by distribution department or country, by wine type and by which show the exhibitor attends, Angers or Paris. An exhibitor can therefore be identified ahead of the event against a precise commercial criterion, for example a Demeter-certified estate on a given appellation not yet distributed in a particular department.
Quality of the audience
Visitor access is conditional on trade accreditation. The target audience is one of recommendation and purchase: wine merchants, restaurateurs, sommeliers, sales agents, importers, merchants and distributors, both French and international. The organiser states more than 3,600 trade visitors across the show.
The new feature announced for 2027 is a B2B matchmaking tool built into the website: exhibitors and visitors can filter each other by grape variety, appellation and region, then export their selection from their account. This marks a notable shift in the model, from a format of wandering between tasting tables towards one of pre-arranged meetings.
Events & community
Programme
The detailed programme for the 2027 edition had not yet been published at the time of writing, with the dedicated page showing a holding message. The format remains centred on tastings at the producer's table, over two days, without a conference track comparable to that of an industrial trade show.
The matchmaking tool by grape variety, appellation and region is the structuring feature of 2027. It is accessible to registered accounts, both exhibitors and visitors, and works before and during the show.
Community & networks
La Levée de la Loire is backed by an institutional ecosystem for the Loire organic wine sector. Loire Vin Bio works with regional organic networks, notably the Coordination Agrobiologique des Pays de la Loire and departmental groups, and with national sector bodies such as France Vin Bio and the Agence Bio. The partners listed on the show's website are Demeter, Biocentre, the CAB Pays de la Loire and the Syndicat de Défense des Vins de Loire.
The association also organises regional events outside the show: trade previews were scheduled for May 2026 in Saumur, Sancerre and Savennières, by invitation.
The official website also lists friendly natural wine events held in the same early-February window around Angers and Saumur: Les Anonymes, La Dive Bouteille, Madavin, Les Pénitentes and Salle à Manger.
ALT': three shows, one week, one venue
The point most often misunderstood about this event deserves to be stated clearly: since 2023, three different shows have been held on the same dates at the Parc des Expositions d'Angers under a joint banner, ALT' - Angers Loire dégus'T: the Salon des Vins de Loire, organised by Destination Angers and open to all production methods; La Levée de la Loire, organised by Loire Vin Bio for organic, biodynamic and natural wines; and the Salon des Vins Demeter, devoted to certified biodynamics.
These are not three sections of a single show: each event keeps its own organiser, brand, website, admission rules and separate exhibitor registration. The ALT' banner pools communication and scheduling, with the areas differentiated by colour code; across this wider scope, the combined total amounts to around 900 exhibitors and 12,500 wines available for tasting. For an exhibitor, the choice of show remains a positioning choice; for a buyer, Angers show week covers conventional, organic and biodynamic wine in a single visit.
On site: what you need to know
For general access and parking, see the venue page: Parc des Expositions d'Angers, route de Paris, 49480 Verrières-en-Anjou.
Specific to the show: the organiser runs a free shuttle between Angers train station, departing from the Hôtel d'Orléans, and the venue entrance near the Amphitéa building, with timetables published as a PDF. Angers is around 1h30 from Paris by train. Bus line 4 serves the venue in the "Angers Parc Expo" direction. By car, access is via the A11, A87 or A85 motorways, and the free car park has 5,000 spaces. Catering is available on site all day, with a free cloakroom.
For the Paris date on 14 February 2027, the New Cap Center, 3 quai de Grenelle in the 15th arrondissement, is served by RER C at Champ de Mars-Tour Eiffel, by metro line 6 at Bir-Hakeim, and by buses 72 and 82.
How much it costs to exhibit
| Poste de dépense | Fourchette basse | Fourchette haute |
|---|---|---|
| Exhibitor space, flat rate (indicative, on registration) | €600 | €1,200 |
| Tasting samples, glasses and additional consumables | €300 | €1,500 |
| Transport and logistics for cases to Angers | €200 | €800 |
| Accommodation and meals (2 days, 1 to 2 people) | €300 | €900 |
| Sales materials, price lists, technical sheets | €150 | €600 |
| ESTIMATED TOTAL (indicative, 2 days in Angers) | ~€1,500 | ~€5,000 |
The show's economic model relies on a low flat rate and on exhibitors taking part in the set-up and running of the event on site: part of the real cost is therefore time, not the invoice. The Paris date on 14 February is subject to separate registration. Actual rates to be requested from Loire Vin Bio.
Preparing your visit
For the exhibitor
- Check eligibility before taking any steps: 100% of the estate's surface area committed to organic farming, certified or in conversion, and cuvées presented at least in their third year of conversion. For a merchant or distributor, at least 50% of volume in organic wine.
- Decide between Angers alone and Angers plus Paris: the two dates have distinct audiences, with the second aimed at Paris-region buyers over a single day.
- Fill in your profile carefully in the exhibitor directory: trade, certifications, appellations, grape varieties, and departments and countries already covered in distribution. This is what feeds the matchmaking tool ahead of the show.
- Allow for availability for set-up and collective organisation on site: this is part of the show's model and determines the flat rate.
- Anticipate competition for attention during ALT' week: three shows and an off-circuit of tastings compete for the same buyer on the same days. A meeting arranged in advance beats a hoped-for visit.
For the decision-making visitor
- Create your account in advance to receive a free invitation valid for both days: an exhibitor or the show's team can issue it to accredited trade professionals. Failing that, the two-day pass can be bought on site for €10.
- Use the directory's filters before coming, in particular the distribution filter by department and country: it identifies estates not yet represented in your territory.
- Allow two half-days if the aim is to cover the whole ALT' scope: organic and biodynamic wines sit alongside the conventional offering of the Salon des Vins de Loire.
- Favour the free shuttle from Angers train station, as the venue is set apart in Verrières-en-Anjou.
Policy & CSR initiatives
La Levée de la Loire's environmental commitment is not a side programme: it is written into the admission rules. The show only accepts wines certified in organic farming or in their third year of conversion, and only admits winegrowers if the whole of their surface area is committed. This is the most verifiable form of commitment, since it rests on third-party certification and determines presence at the show. Demeter certification, which attests to biodynamic practices, is identified in the exhibitor directory.
Loire Vin Bio sets this requirement within a broader mission: structuring the Loire organic wine sector, promoting its wines in France and internationally, and providing technical and regulatory monitoring. Fairness between producers, regardless of size, is a founding principle, embodied in the flat exhibition rate.
On the social side, the show publishes a charter for the prevention of violence, harassment, sexism and discrimination, binding on participants, alongside its internal regulations, the venue's health and safety regulations, and its general terms and conditions of sale.
The venue provides an additional, verifiable guarantee. Destination Angers, which manages the Parc des Expositions, is certified ISO 20121, the international standard for responsible management of event activity, obtained in March 2023 following an Afnor audit, and supports the organisers it hosts across five major eco-design themes.

Trajectory analysis
The show's recent history comes down to one decision: to stop competing for the same buyers. Created in 2011 in the wake of the structuring of the Loire organic wine sector, La Levée de la Loire was for a long time held alongside the Salon des Vins de Loire and the Salon des Vins Demeter, on the same early-February dates, with an off-circuit of tastings that further fragmented attention. The 2023 regrouping under the ALT' banner put an end to this dispersal without merging the brands.
The result shows up in stability: attendance across the ALT' scope has ranged between 4,200 and 4,500 trade buyers over four editions, against a backdrop of declining wine consumption in France. For a niche show, holding this plateau while the market contracts is a result in itself.
The underlying shift is now about commercial preparation rather than volume. The matchmaking tool launched for 2027, paired with a directory filterable by distribution territory, turns a tasting show into a targeted sourcing tool. For a winegrower whose constraint is not getting people to taste but finding a wine merchant or importer in a specific territory, this is the most concrete change of recent years.
