Who exhibits
Typical profile
The offering covers the entire fresh fruit and vegetable chain, with a strong upstream focus. The organiser's website groups exhibitors into eight families: Production, Import/Export, Processing & Equipment, Engineering, Transport & Logistics, Packaging, Banking & Insurance, Institutional bodies. On the visitor side are the market's buyers and influencers: major retail groups and banners, wholesalers and traders, processors, out-of-home catering, specialist retailers and organic-sector players.
Perpignan is not a neutral location for this trade show: the city is Europe's leading fruit and vegetable distribution hub, which explains the density of importers, exporters and logistics operators present over the two days.
Notable exhibitors
The official list of exhibitors is published by the organiser: medFEL exhibitor list, filterable by sector, region and country. The 2026 edition brought together 211 exhibitors, of which close to 42% were producers, and around fifty exhibitors offering organic-certified ranges, grouped under two schemes called "The Organic Market by medFEL" and "The Organic Road by medFEL". Two trade federations stood out at the 2026 edition: ANEEFEL, attending for the first time, and Interfel, marking its fiftieth anniversary.
Quality of the audience
The organiser's 2026 review reports 3,795 professional visitors, an increase of 8% on 2025, of whom 12% were international (Spain in the lead, followed by Algeria, Morocco, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Italy). Distributors account for close to a third of visitors. Among the banners cited by the organiser: Auchan, Carrefour, E.Leclerc, Intermarché, Coopérative U, Grand Frais and Métro, as well as Biocoop and Naturalia in the organic segment, alongside wholesalers such as Pomona, Relais Vert and Desmettre and processors such as Andros, Lucien Georgelin and Thiriet.
The international business convention run by AD'OCC rounds out the offering: 25 qualified international buyers were hosted in 2026, on pre-qualified B2B meeting programmes arranged ahead of the trade show.
Events & community
Conference programme
The programme runs across two spaces, the AGORA and a workshop-conference room. In 2026, close to 700 participants attended the Agora talks over the two days. Recurring topics: CMO policy (Common Market Organisation), organic production, sustainable logistics, economic performance and orchard renewal.
The 2027 programme is still being finalised at the time of writing; replays from the 2026 edition remain available on the organiser's website.
Highlights
medFEL's historic hallmark remains the announcement of the European summer fruit harvest forecasts: apricots, plums and melon plantings are presented from the Agora during the trade show. The peach and nectarine harvest forecasts, meanwhile, are released separately in a webinar a few weeks later, in French, English, Spanish and Italian.
The 2026 edition also featured a Grand Débat (Big Debate) entitled "Quels leviers pour mieux répartir le risque agricole ?" (What levers to better share agricultural risk?), followed by an evening conference, "Comment capter 100% du chiffre d'affaires potentiel en Fruits & Légumes" (How to capture 100% of the potential turnover in Fruit & Vegetables), organised by Fresh Data. A conference marking the 30th anniversary of the fruit and vegetable CMO was held via video link with a Member of the European Parliament.
The organiser has announced three new features for 2027: an E-invitations Challenge rewarding the exhibitor who sends the most invitations, a medNEWS scheme showcasing new products, and RHD Speed Meetings, a programme of meetings with out-of-home catering decision-makers.
Community & networks
medFEL is backed by a dense professional ecosystem: the Pyrénées-Orientales chamber of agriculture, CTIFL, the Fédération des Fruits et Légumes Occitanie, FNPFruits, Interbio Occitanie and Saint-Charles International are among the partners listed by the organiser.
The medEMPLOI programme, launched in 2023, addresses the challenge of making the sector's jobs more attractive. In 2026, its job-dating event run with France Travail (the French employment agency) brought together 4 companies and 19 candidates, with 8 profiles shortlisted; the 2025 edition had led to 3 hires. The associated workshop-conferences are co-built with the Fédération des Fruits et Légumes d'Occitanie.
On the press side, the trade show draws broad specialist coverage: Linéaires, LSA, Réussir, Végétable, Pleinchamp, Biofil, Fruitnet, Revista Mercados and Frutas Legumes e Flores are among the declared media partners.

Preparing your visit
For the exhibitor
- Request the admission pack from the SPAS Organisation sales team: the trade show operates on an admission basis, not free booking.
- Decide early between a bare stand, a pre-fitted stand and a collective pavilion: the collective offer is the entry-level format for a first participation or a regional organisation.
- Sign up for the international business convention run by AD'OCC if export is an objective: B2B meetings are pre-qualified ahead of the trade show.
- Activate client invitations via the exhibitor area: in 2027, the E-invitations Challenge rewards the most active exhibitor with a discount on the following edition.
- Declare new products to the medNEWS scheme to benefit from the dedicated space and press relations.
For the decision-making visitor
- Request your badge online in advance: entry is free for professionals and the badge covers both days.
- Identify the harvest forecasts that concern you (apricot, plum, melon) and block out the time slot: these are the most attended sessions at the Agora.
- Use the online exhibitor list, filterable by sector and by country, to plan a route rather than wander: the human-scale format makes it possible to cover all the stands in a single day.
- For organic sourcing, head straight for the "The Organic Market" and "The Organic Road" routes, which group together the certified offering.
Policy & CSR initiatives
medFEL does not publish a dedicated "Commitments" or "CSR" page, and the event does not hold its own ISO 20121 certification. The verifiable commitments sit at three distinct levels.
At the level of the trade show's content, the organiser explicitly positions the platform towards eco-responsible fruit and vegetable producers and sector companies attentive to environmental issues. This translates into an identified organic offer (around fifty exhibitors offering certified ranges, grouped under "The Organic Market by medFEL" and flagged by the "The Organic Road by medFEL" route) and a conference programme covering organic production, sustainable logistics and orchard renewal. These are programme themes, to be distinguished from an organisational commitment.
At the organiser level, AD'OCC obtained the AFNOR "Engagé RSE" (CSR Committed) label at confirmed level on 26 March 2024, as well as the international "Responsibility Europe" label, becoming the first French economic development agency to hold such certification. Its published CSR policy includes an explicit strand on reducing and optimising the carbon impact of the events it runs, a category that includes medFEL.
At the venue level, Perpignan Congrès Expo, which manages the Parc des Expositions, publishes a CSR commitments page: self-consumption via solar panels powering its three sites, LED lighting, insulation and thermal optimisation of the buildings, waste sorting and reduction, reduction of single-use plastics, and digitalisation of documents. Accessibility is also documented: all spaces accessible to people with reduced mobility, lifts serving every level, platform lifts and bicycle parking.

Trajectory analysis
medFEL occupies a singular position in the European fruit and vegetable calendar: neither Fruit Logistica (Berlin) nor Fruit Attraction (Madrid), but the only French professional gathering dedicated to the fresh produce sector, in a deliberately tight two-day format. The trade show is not an agricultural equipment show like SIVAL in Angers or Vinitech-Sifel in Bordeaux: its centre of gravity is commercial, bringing together upstream producers and distribution buyers.
The recent trajectory is one of consolidation rather than expansion. After a dip in attendance between 2024 and 2025 (3,700 then 3,523 visitors), the 2026 edition climbed back above with 3,795 visitors and 211 exhibitors. The share of producers among exhibitors, close to 42%, and the weight of qualified international buyers selected by AD'OCC are the two differentiating markers the organiser is seeking to strengthen. The new features announced for 2027, in particular the Speed Meetings with out-of-home catering, reflect a wish to broaden the outlets covered beyond mass retail alone.
Unless otherwise stated, all factual data in this listing comes from the organiser's official website (medfel.com).
