Key takeaways
- Millesime Bio is the world's professional trade show for wines, beers, ciders, spirits and no-low drinks from organic farming. Only products certified compliant with the European regulation are admitted: wines in conversion and conventional wines are excluded.
- Organiser: SudVinBio, a 1901-law association declared in 1991, which federates more than 1,100 organic winegrowers, cooperators and marketers from Occitanie.
- Next edition: the 34th Millesime Bio, from Monday 25 to Wednesday 27 January 2027, at the Parc des Expositions de Montpellier, route de la Foire, 34470 Perols. Opening hours: Monday 10am-7pm, Tuesday 9am-7pm, Wednesday 9am-5pm.
- Results of the last edition (2026, 33rd): 1,400 exhibitors, 14% of them new, 8,700 professional visits, 22% of them from abroad, 50 nationalities represented.
- The format is the show's signature: every exhibitor is given the same equipment, a counter, two chairs, a spittoon, glasses, ice and a display stand. No stand stands out through its decoration budget.
- Access is strictly reserved to professionals buying and selling wines and alcoholic drinks, as well as to the press. Suppliers, service providers and the general public are not admitted.
- For 2027, the organiser announces a voluntary cap on the number of exhibitors, intended to densify meetings per stand in a context of strain on the wine sector.
Who exhibits
Typical profile
Millesime Bio is not an equipment trade show, nor a public tasting event: it is a marketplace. Exhibitors are producers, wine cooperatives, independent winegrowers and merchants of organic wines, joined over recent editions by brewers, cider makers, distillers and producers of dealcoholised drinks. All French wine regions are represented, alongside exhibitors from around fifteen countries across four continents.
Admission rests on a single, non-negotiable criterion: organic certification under the European regulation in force. Beyond wine, accepted products include organic wine-based flavoured drinks, beers, ciders, spirits, dealcoholised wines and organic non-alcoholic drinks.
Since 2026, exhibitors have been grouped in the halls by country and major wine region, each hall retaining a mix of appellations. This format, kept for 2027, aims to smooth visitor flows and buyers' sourcing.
Notable exhibitors
The list of exhibitors for the upcoming edition is published and updated by the organiser on the dedicated page of the official website, alongside the 2026 exhibitor list. The show also hosts initiatives that complement organic farming: a Biodyvin area launched in 2025, expanded in 2026 into a biodynamics area open to Demeter-certified producers.
Quality of the audience
Audience quality is the variable the organiser defends most explicitly: wine merchants, hospitality and catering professionals, sommeliers, buyers from large retail chains and specialist shops, wholesalers, importers, agents and merchants. Filtering at the entrance is embraced as a strategy, at the cost of a lower volume of visits.
In 2026, the show recorded 8,700 professional visits, 22% of them from abroad, with 50 nationalities represented. Jeanne Fabre, chair of the Millesime Bio commission, summed up exhibitors' feedback: they "say they prefer fewer but more useful meetings, because they lead to real sales opportunities." For 2027, the organiser states it is stepping up its recruitment of buyers in France and internationally.
Programme & community
Conference programme
The Forum des Vins et Alcools Bio hosts the show's conferences over the three days, complemented by masterclasses devoted to organic wines, beers, ciders and spirits. The 2027 programme was still being put together at the time of writing.
The show also runs an observatory: every year, Millesime Bio commissions the ObSoCo institute for a study on organic wine consumption trends, presented at a conference during the show. The one published in autumn 2025 found that 18-34 year-olds, 28% of the population, are over-represented both among non-consumers of wine (36%) and among consumers of organic wine (31%).
Awards and recognition
The "Challenge Millesime Bio", a world competition for organic wines and beers, is organised by SudVinBio ahead of the show. Created in 2007, it will celebrate its twentieth anniversary in 2027. Open to international organic beers since 2022, it introduced a category dedicated to dealcoholised organic wines in 2026.
The 2026 edition of the competition awarded 454 wines (182 gold medals, 217 silver, 55 bronze) and 42 beers, plus 6 "Special Prizes: 100% French BIO Ingredients". All medal winners are presented for free tasting at the Bar Challenge Millesime Bio. The competition's presidency changes at every edition: Xavier Thuizat, Meilleur Ouvrier de France, chaired the 2026 edition.
Community & networks
The Oenotheque is the show's second hub, alongside the stands: a hall for free tasting of more than 1,000 references classified by country, appellation and colour, each sample carrying a technical sheet and a QR code linking to the stand's location. It hosts several themed corners: biodynamics, Occitanie bulk wines, Bar Challenge, beer library, sparkling wine bar and alcoholic drinks. The visit continues outside the halls with the Wine Tours by Millesime Bio, wine-tourism trips for international buyers and journalists, and with the Guinguette, open Monday and Tuesday from 6.30pm to 9pm at reception A.
Millesime Bio opens the sector's commercial calendar for the year: it precedes Wine Paris by three weeks and takes place a few days before the Salon des Vins de Loire. Upstream, the sector meets again at SITEVI, the wine and vine equipment show, at the same Montpellier venue, and at Vinitech-Sifel in Bordeaux in alternate years. For organic producers across all sectors, Tech&Bio remains the benchmark technical event.
On site: what you need to know
For general access and parking, see the venue page: Parc des Expositions de Montpellier, route de la Foire, 34470 Perols.
Specific to the show: tram line 3 serves the Parc Expo (Perols) stop, from where free shuttles run to reception B every 10 to 15 minutes, Monday from 9am to 8pm, Tuesday from 8am to 8pm and Wednesday from 8am to 6.30pm. Free shuttles also serve Montpellier Mediterranee airport and Montpellier Sud de France TGV station, timed to train arrivals and departures. By car, access is via the A9 or A709, exit 29 Montpellier Est, with free car parks; preferential rates have been negotiated with ride-hailing services and a carpooling platform.
The show has 19 catering points, all meals served being organic and/or local, with a vegetarian option: a catering area in hall A6 run by official caterer Cabiron, four snack points in the halls and a village of 12 food trucks under hall A3. Meals can be pre-ordered.
For accommodation, the organiser refers visitors to Montpellier's tourist office, a partner of the show. Some establishments offer a preferential rate or included services, on quoting the code MB27 at booking. The show map is due to be announced in November 2026.
How much it costs to exhibit
| Poste de dépense | Fourchette basse | Fourchette haute |
|---|---|---|
| Shared stand and standard exhibition equipment, all-inclusive package (indicative, on quotation) | €1,000 | €3,000 |
| Preparation and delivery of samples | €300 | €1,500 |
| Accommodation for 2 people, 3 nights in Montpellier | €400 | €1,500 |
| Travel and catering on site | €300 | €1,000 |
| Sales materials and translation | €200 | €1,500 |
| ESTIMATED TOTAL (indicative, 3 days) | ~€2,200 | ~€8,500 |
Millesime Bio's economic particularity lies in its format: exhibition equipment is identical for everyone and supplied by the organiser, which removes the custom-stand line item, the heaviest in a conventional trade show's budget. SudVinBio also offers all-inclusive packages, negotiated hotel rates and affordable catering. Actual rates to be requested from the organiser.
Preparing your visit
For the exhibitor
- Plan ahead for the registration calendar: for 2027, registration opened on 22 June 2026, with a deadline shown as 31 July 2026 and an explicitly limited number of places.
- Producers from Occitanie should look into SudVinBio membership, which gives access to a preferential rate. Producers from Provence and the Rhone valley have an equivalent with Sud-Est Vin Bio.
- Enter your vintages in the Challenge Millesime Bio and feed the Oenotheque: the Bar Challenge and the free-tasting corners steer part of visitor flows, independently of the stand.
For the decision-making visitor
- Plan for the full three days. The organisation by country and wine region is designed precisely to allow more meetings to be fitted into each half-day.
- Prepare your route using the exhibitor list, and use the Oenotheque as an upstream filter before committing to a stand meeting.
- Check your eligibility before registering: access is reserved to professionals buying and selling wines and alcoholic drinks, and to the press. Teachers and students are admitted, the latter having to register with their school email address or via their teacher.
- Favour the free shuttles from the tram, the airport and the TGV station, and book accommodation early.
Policy & CSR initiatives
The show does not publish a dedicated commitments page. The verifiable elements sit at three levels.
The first relates to the very purpose of the event: the show only admits products certified organic under the European regulation in force. Its organiser, SudVinBio, is a trade association whose declared missions cover technical support for organic producers, research and experimentation, and training for producers in conversion.
The second relates to observable organisational choices: identical exhibition equipment supplied to everyone, which removes custom-built stands, catering entirely based on organic and/or local products, and a comprehensive free shuttle system.
The third relates to the venue. The Parc des Expositions de Montpellier is operated by SPL Occitanie Events, ISO 20121 certified by AFNOR since 2021 for its activities as site manager and event organiser, with the certification renewed in January 2025. The operator applies a 2024-2027 roadmap aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, including a 20% reduction in waste volume over four years and 75% of waste recovered or recycled. The Occitanie Region, which owns the site, states its goal of making it an energy-positive exhibition park.

Trajectory analysis
Millesime Bio's curve tells the story of the sector's trajectory. The first edition, in 1993, brought together 15 exhibitors; the show had 354 by 2009, crossed the 1,000 mark in 2018, then the 1,500 mark in the early 2020s. Attendance followed suit: 10,000 visits in 2020, a dip to 7,000 in 2022 for the post-Covid recovery edition pushed back to late February, then a record 10,300 visits in 2023.
Since then, the trend has reversed: 9,500 visits in 2025, 8,700 in 2026, with the number of exhibitors falling from 1,500 to 1,400. The organiser does not hide the context: organic wine-growing acreage saw its first historic decline in 2024, conversions are slowing and large retailers are delisting. Julien Franclet, chair of SudVinBio, described in January 2026 a sector caught between record production and headwinds on the regulatory and commercial fronts.
The response is a deliberate refocus on the core of the model rather than a race for volume: grouping by country and wine region, an expanded biodynamics area and a 100% organic no-low area in 2026, both carried into 2027 with stepped-up buyer recruitment and a capped number of exhibitors. For an exhibitor, the trade-off therefore hinges less on raw traffic than on the qualification rate of an audience filtered at the entrance, in a show that remains the sector's first commercial meeting point of the year.
The show also experimented with a digital component: the 2021 edition was held entirely online, and a digital session preceded the physical show from 2022 to 2024. This arrangement no longer appears in the 2026 and 2027 communications, which mention only digital support tools: a B2B appointment-booking platform, online exhibitor lists and a smartphone app.
