Key facts

  • Rest'Hôtel La Teste, known in full as the Rest'Hôtel et Métiers de Bouche de La Teste trade show, is the trade show for cafés, hotels and restaurants, the food trades, institutional catering and tourism professionals in the Arcachon Basin. Since 2025, it has been paired with the Salon des Plages, under the same banner.
  • Next edition: the 3rd, on 8 and 9 March 2027, at the Parc des Expositions de La Teste-de-Buch, avenue de l'Europe. Opening hours announced as 9.30am to 7pm on both days.
  • Organiser: Alliance Expo, a trade show organising company based in Creysse, in the Dordogne, which rolls out the Rest'Hôtel brand in about ten cities. No co-organiser.
  • Biennial rhythm, displayed as such by the organiser: 1st edition on 29 and 30 January 2023, 2nd on 16 and 17 February 2025.
  • Organiser's figures, unaudited: the 2027 edition page displays 120 exhibitors (a figure already displayed before the second edition), 2,000 visiting establishments and four competitions (displayed since before the first); its 2025 registration pack gave, for the first edition, more than 70 exhibitors, 3,000 m² of exhibition space and 1,600 establishments.
  • Free entry, restricted to trade professionals on invitation or proof of profession. The badge request for 2027 was not yet open at the time of writing.

Who exhibits

Exhibitor profile

The show organises its offer into four areas: food and drink, equipment and machinery, fit-out and interior design, and services and new technologies. Its home page details seven business sectors, including short supply chains, as well as institutional bodies and training.

On the food side, the Visit page mentions delicatessen goods, meat, seafood, fruit and vegetables, dairy and sweet products, drinks, wines and spirits, beer, coffee and coffee roasting, frozen goods and products intended for bakers, pastry chefs, butchers, pork butchers and caterers. Equipment covers the kitchen and laboratory, bakery and pastry, catering and bar, hygiene, packaging, linen and vehicles. Fit-out ranges from furniture and renovation to tableware. Services bring together banking, insurance, mutual insurance, brokerage, accountancy, software, apps and websites.

The Salon des Plages, presented as new for the 2025 edition, is mainly described in the organiser's 2025 registration pack: a marquee of more than 1,800 m², more than 500 m² of outdoor exhibition space, four themes (CHR and snacking equipment, outdoor equipment, holiday rental accommodation, equipment and services) and 50 more exhibitors targeted. The site's pages give neither a separate exhibitor list nor a programme, and display only a single set of counters and a single exhibitor list for the whole event. Rest'Hôtel is the main event: the home page text, the Practical information page and the registration form carry only its name, with the Salon des Plages appearing only on the Visit and Exhibit pages.

Notable exhibitors

No exhibitor list is published for 2027. The site keeps online, outside its menu, the list of exhibitors for the 2025 edition: the site menu linked to it in early 2025 and all its entries are attached to the 2025 edition. It has 81 companies and organisations: 35 are based in Gironde, around ten of them in the Arcachon Basin itself (La Teste-de-Buch, Le Teich, Andernos-les-Bains). The other 46 come from all over France, chiefly from the rest of Nouvelle-Aquitaine (13) and the Pays de la Loire (11).

It included, on the equipment side, Unox, Norm'Cuisines, Chefinov and Granita France; on the milling side, Bellot Minoteries, the Minoterie Girardeau and the Moulin du Courneau; on the products side, Barry Callebaut, Ovoteam and Sysco; on the drinks side, Cheval Quancard, Cocktail Morel, Sense Coffee and several wine estates; on the local distribution side, the La Teste-de-Buch Promocash. Collective bodies were numerous: UMIH 33, CCI Bordeaux Gironde, CMA Formation Bordeaux, Bassin Formation, the Fédération des artisans boulangers de Gironde, Urssaf and the La Teste-de-Buch tourist office. These appearances do not confirm anything for 2027.

Visitor quality

The Visit page targets four families of establishments. CHR (cafés, hotels and restaurants): cafés, hotels, restaurants, brasseries, snacking outlets, pizzerias, crêperies, cafeterias, fast food. Food trades: butchers, pork butchers, fishmongers, caterers, bakers, pastry chefs, ice-cream makers, confectioners, chocolatiers, fruit and vegetable grocers. Institutions: schools, colleges, lycées, retirement homes, hospitals, holiday centres. Tourism and leisure: campsites, gîtes, bed and breakfasts, leisure centres, tourist sites.

Entry is restricted to trade professionals, on presentation of an invitation or proof of profession. The organiser displays 2,000 visiting establishments: this figure was already on the site before the first edition and has not changed since. Its 2025 registration pack gives a lower figure for the first edition, 1,600 establishments, presented under the heading "2023, a success". These are establishments, not people, and no OJS audit is published. The catchment area shown covers more than 14,000 establishments.

Events & community

Competitions

The 2027 programme is not published: the site announces four competitions without detailing them. The Competitions page still describes the events of the February 2025 edition:

  • Best regional burger, on Sunday afternoon: a burger made on site in 1h30, to set criteria and with regional products, with a quantified recipe for four people. The event was shown as fully booked.
  • Best hot sandwich, on Monday afternoon, reserved for bakery-pâtisseries, sandwich shops and snacking professionals.
  • Best croissant in Gironde, on Monday, in partnership with the Fédération des artisans boulangers et boulangers-pâtissiers de Gironde and the FAMG (Fédération autonome des métiers gourmands), open to artisans, employees and apprentices of the département's bakeries.
  • Best cocktail creation, on Monday morning, for barmaids and barmen.

For the first edition, in 2023, the Competitions page, published before the event, announced a different set of events: cocktails in partnership with Pernod Ricard, best galette in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, best regional burger and "Le Rest'Hotel d'OR", in which head chefs or sous-chefs had to prepare a dish in 1h30 from set ingredients. A page also announced innovation prizes, highlighting new products from exhibitors such as Unox, Initial or Linvosges; the 2025 edition pages no longer mentioned them.

Community & networks

Rest'Hôtel is a network of regional trade shows run by Alliance Expo, each with its own city, dates and figures. The calendar published for 2026-2027 lists six events: Rouen on 4 and 5 October 2026, Brest on 7 and 8 February 2027, La Teste-de-Buch on 8 and 9 March 2027, Tours on 14 and 15 March 2027, Caen on 4 and 5 October 2027 and Tarbes on 10 and 11 October 2027. Dijon, Rennes, Périgueux and Clermont-Ferrand are announced for 2028. None of these shows is co-located with the La Teste one, and no consolidated figure is published for the network.

In the South-West, March 2027 will be a busy month for the sector: Horesta, the trade show for hospitality and the food trades in Biarritz, takes place from 14 to 16 March 2027, five days after Rest'Hôtel La Teste. In Bordeaux, Exp'Hôtel is scheduled for 21 to 23 November 2027.

On site: what you need to know

The show is held at the Parc des Expositions de La Teste-de-Buch, 940 avenue de l'Europe, to the east of the town. The organiser's published map places it 45 minutes from Bordeaux and 1h30 from Bayonne.

Under "Access / Parking", the Practical information page publishes only this location map: no detailed route or parking information, as on the 2023 and 2025 edition pages. The 2025 registration pack describes the park as a single 27,000 m² site, with plenty of parking spaces, close to the town centre, 10 minutes from Arcachon and 1h20 from Cap Ferret.

2027 opening hours: 9.30am to 7pm on 8 and 9 March. Entry is free for professionals, on registration. Organiser contact: Alliance Expo, 05 53 45 72 12.

What it costs to exhibit

2025 edition price list, the only one published by Alliance Expo (registration pack of February 2025, amounts excl. VAT). No 2027 pack is online: 2027 rates are to be confirmed with the organiser via the form on the website. The two rows marked 'indicative sector estimate' do not come from this price list: they are orders of magnitude for a regional trade show of this format, in no way Rest'Hôtel La Teste rates.

Planning your visit

For exhibitors

  • Request the 2027 exhibitor pack via the form on the website: no 2027 pack is online. The 2025 one is, and gives the order of magnitude: a semi-equipped stand charged at €85 to €155 per m² excl. VAT depending on surface area, plus a €280 registration fee.
  • Work on your client file for the Arcachon Basin and for the catchment area shown by the organiser (more than 14,000 establishments): entry is by invitation or proof of profession, and on the list published for 2025, more than four companies in ten were based in Gironde.
  • Consult the Competitions page, still online outside the menu with the February 2025 events: in 2025, the competitions were the only activity detailed on the site's pages, with events open to restaurateurs, bakers and barmen; the registration pack also announced three dedicated areas: 100% short supply chains, 100% hotel with a model room, 100% tech.

For visiting decision-makers

  • Request your badge as soon as registration opens on the official website: entry is free but restricted to trade professionals.
  • Prepare your comparisons using the 2025 list: cash registers, kitchen equipment, milling, drinks and insurance were each represented there by several suppliers.
  • Make the most of the timing: in March, before the Basin's summer season, is the moment to review equipment, suppliers and menus.

CSR policy & initiatives

Neither the show's website nor Alliance Expo's publishes a CSR policy, a carbon footprint report or ISO 20121 certification: neither has a Commitments or Sustainable development section. No environmental initiative is published online for the Parc des Expositions de La Teste-de-Buch. The 2025 registration pack imposes only a cleanliness rule on exhibitors: leave no bulky waste, with skips provided on site, under penalty of €70 excl. VAT per block of 50 kg or 1 m³.

The show's content does touch on these subjects, however: short supply chains are among the business sectors displayed, and the best regional burger competition requires the use of regional products. These are programme themes, not a commitment by the organiser.

Trend analysis

Rest'Hôtel La Teste is a young show. The first edition was held on 29 and 30 January 2023, the second on 16 and 17 February 2025, and the third is scheduled for 8 and 9 March 2027, again at the exhibition park. The biennial rhythm is steady, but the date drifts from one edition to the next, from late January to early March. The first two editions were held on a Sunday and a Monday.

Growth shows mainly in the published lists: 70 companies on the 2023 list (archived two days before opening), 81 on the 2025 list (cut-off date unknown). The organiser's display has grown faster: from 80 exhibitors announced before the first edition to 120 before the second, a figure maintained for 2027. The only published summary with figures is the 2023 one, in the organiser's 2025 registration pack and unaudited (more than 70 exhibitors, 3,000 m², 1,600 establishments): the 3,000 m² floor area is the same as the one displayed on the site before the first edition. No results report is published for 2025 or for the Salon des Plages.

For a supplier, the appeal lies in proximity more than size: a two-day show aimed at establishments in the Arcachon Basin and its surroundings, placed before the tourist season. No edition beyond 2027 is announced.
