Tourism is one of France's leading economic sectors. Its calendar distinguishes professional B2B events (IFTM) from consumer-facing ones (Salon Mondial du Tourisme), two fundamentally different approaches.
The benchmark trade shows in France
IFTM Top Resa (Paris, annual in September, RX France) is the benchmark trade show for tourism professionals, bringing together the entire travel chain. Its Everywhere platform facilitates pre-scheduled business meetings. Next edition: 15-17 September 2026.
Equip'Hôtel (Paris, biennial in November, RX France) is the benchmark trade show for hospitality and catering equipment and technologies.
The major European and global trade shows
ITB Berlin (Berlin, annual in March, Messe Berlin) is the world's largest tourism trade show, with more than 100,000 visitors and 5,000 exhibitors from 183 countries. WTM London (annual in November, RX France) brings together more than 50,000 participants. FITUR (Madrid, annual in January) is the Ibero-American tourism trade show.
The Salon Mondial du Tourisme (Paris, Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, annual in March) remains the benchmark consumer event for inbound travel agencies and tourist offices.
Beyond the trade shows
The federations (Atout France, SNAV, UMIH) organise commercial workshops and roadshows that are often more effective than the major trade shows for direct business development.
